  1. I don't remember anything looking out of the ordinary. Is there a specific place I should watch next time?Adam
  2. Using default FSX weather only I am not having the problem.Adam
  3. 1. Just tried a default aircraft, the 737-800. It shows the TAT. I witnessed the same problem.2. I don't know why it comes and goes.3. I will try this next.4. According to the Level-D 767 panel, the TAT is very high, between 40 and 50 and the SAT (OAT) is 15. The 15 degree SAT is confirmed by the FSUIPC readout. The default 737 only shows TAT and it is extremely high, but the FSUIPC readout of SAT is 15 at FL270.Adam
  4. An observation.I just ran the same departure twice departing from SLLP using the LDS 767. The first time I followed my normal procedure which includes loading the flight plan into ASA. Sure enough, climbing through FL310 the SAT increased to 15 and stayed there. The second time I didn't load the flight plan into ASA and I am currently at FL390 with a SAT of -52 and no hint of any fluctuations.Maybe this helps?Adam
  5. I was flying in South America from SLLP - SAWH, but the problem existed all the way down from Canada.I will look into the SimConnect logs. Thanks,Adam
  6. I am experiencing the exact same problem with the Level-D 767. At FL350 the SAT reported by FSUIPC using the trick above was +15 and my TAT was 45-50. The plane was unable to maintain speed and altitude. I am using B435 and running ASA on a networked computer.
  7. HiI am having trouble getting the 747-400X IRS system to align when I start from a cold and dark cockpit. When the checklist tells me to do so I move the IRS switches from Nav to Off and back to Nav then to Align. When the timers on the Nav page get to 0 and disappear I move the switches back to Nav expecting the map on the Nav screen to come alive, but it doesn't. Instead after a minute the align timers reappear and continue to count backwards into negative numbers and I still have IRS align EICAS messages. This happens no matter how long I make the align time (haven't tried instant though). Incidentally I have also tried just moving the switches to Nav and skip moving them to align, but I had the same results. Am I doing something wrong? What is the correct procedure? Thanks,Adam Guthrie
  8. Thanks everybody for the help. It appears that putting msvcr70.dll in my windows/system32 folder has solved the problem.Adam
  9. That's interesting. I'll check that out when I get home.Thanks,Adam
  10. The panels I am using to try and figure out this problem were all designed for FSX so I presume that the gauges are not FS98 style gauges. Combine that with the fact that they worked as advertised when I tried them on my laptop leads me to believe that this is not a problem with a specific panel, but rather a problem with FSX or my computer.BTW, I believe that FSX does read .gau files out of the aircraft's panel directory because one of the panels I tested on my laptop had a .gau file in the panel directory that was not present in my gauges directory and the panel loaded fine with all gauges present. The panels I am trying to use are 777pnlx.zip by Marco Spada, fx777pan.zip by Graham Williams, an EMB170 panel which I must have deleted and I think the filename started with j, and I have tried importing the default 777 panel from FS9 using instructions I found on the web. Thanks,Adam
  11. I thought it might be SP1 as well, but no such luck. I've tried it both with and without SP1, same result.Adam
  12. HiI have been pulling my hair out over this problem for the past 3 days. When I try to use panels that include .gau files I don't see the gauges. Here's what happens in more detail. When I first try and load the panel I am presented with the box that asks me if I want to run the gauge. I click on run. Next it asks me if I want to trust the gauge next time. I click yes. Then the plane and panel load, but the spots where the gauges are supposed to be are empty.I have tried numerous things to try and troubleshoot this problem. I have wiped out the trusted section from my FSX.cfg file. I have reinstalled FSX several times, I have installed FSX on my laptop to see if the gauges would work there and they did, finally I have totally wiped and reinstalled Windows XP all with no luck.Incidentally, it appears that this is only an issue with unsigned gauges/software, because I have FSUIPC4 and it puts an entry in the Trusted section and works fine.I've contacted Microsoft support, but they won't help me because it is a 3rd party add-in that is having a problem. My system is a P4 2.8Ghz, 2Gb RAM, MSI NVidia GeForce 6800 GT, Sound Blaster Audigy 2, etc, etc... Let me know if you need more.Anybody have any ideas? I'm almost ready to junk FSX until I get a new computer (not any time soon unfortunately). Thanks,Adam
  13. Just to add on to that. If you quit FS before you quit ASV, ASV doesn't recognize that FS has quit. The title bar keeps saying FS Active and it merrily tries to update the weather, having no success of course. This is through WideFS by the way. Thanks,Adam
  14. Yes and yes, although the precip value says none. Actually I just looked again and it is displaying something on the radar now. Not sure why it wasn't before though. Oh well, thanks for the quick response :)Adam
  15. HiI just downloaded and installed ASV and I have to say that it looks amazing. I run ASV through WideFS and I had a bit of trouble installing ActiveRadar on the FS computer. When I ran ActiveRadarConnector.exe and tried to select ASV.exe it wouldn't accept my input. I attempted to install it by manually copying the ActiveRadar folder and dll to my Flight Simulator modules folder, but when I tried it ActiveRadar would not pick up the weather changes. Then I found a post that talked about creating a registry entry so I did that, substituting ASV for AS2004. Now ActiveRadar picks up the weather, but it won't dislay anything on the radar screen. I know something should be there because I see lightning all around me and it is raining. Is there something else I need to do to complete the manual installation process? Thanks,Adam
  16. Normally when I fly I have a small app running that records flight time, fuel usage, etc. The data cannot be saved in an interim format so I can't shut FS down. I didn't have that app running this time, but habit prevailed and I just hit the pause button.Adam
  17. That is a possibility. I have been fighting the heat ever since I upgraded my computer last summer. I don't overclock, but I recently had to replace my graphics card fan and the card hasn't performed the same ever since. I plan on purchasing a new card very soon (like this week). Thanks,Adam
  18. Hi,Last night I was flying a long flight so I decided to pause Flight Simulator until this morning. When I woke up Flight Simulator had crashed to desktop. I have been experiencing many c-t-ds so yesterday I completely reinstalled FS from scratch. The only addons I installed were FSNavigator, ActiveSky, and FSUIPC. Should I not pause FS while using ActiveSky?Thanks,Adam
