AutoSave.rcd files
I mostly use ASE with real time weather and only sometimes with historical weather in online mode.Inside the Hifi\ASE\Weather folder I see a growing amount of hundreds of Autosave.rcd files. Are they needed for a proper function of ASE or can I delete them from time to time?Just curious about thismy best wishesHans-Christian

Typical ASE Problem
Hello,at 18:12(UTC), today, at OMDB you can observe a typical problem ASE has, when getting corrupted weather data.ASE METAR: OMDB 201500Z 03008 010V080 CAVOK 23/15 Q101 NOSIGAs You can see, the data of the barometric pressure are corrupted, the last digit is missing. So ASE interprets this data with 23.68 inches / 0800 mb, absolutely low pressure. Real world METAR: OMDB 201600Z 03006KT 350V070 CAVOK 23/15 Q1016 NOSIG.(source:http://www.wunderground.com/Aviation/index.html?query=OMDB)If there is an inflight situation (f.i. East Africa, over Ethopia) with only a few weather stations, and some of them don´t have submitted actual reports, ASE is interpolating the weather depiction. In case one of them submit corrupted data, you will get that low pressure, which will end with a desastre. As I am writing this, a new weather download took place and now everything is ok again.I am reporting this, just in case You might want to know.My best wishesHans-Christianvery satisfied with ASE/FS9.1

FS 9.1 Refresh AI Aircraft and Time changes
Hello, after updating to Build 640, the time changes for about ten minutes, when I click the buttom "Refresh AI Aircraft".It is not a big issue, as I can set the time ten minutes later when starting FS9.1, but I thought it is worth to mention. My best wishesHans-Christian

ASE -- FS9 -- Overspeed and Loss of Altitude
Hans-Christian replied to a post in a topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumHello,it seems that the route from the Philippines to Jakarta is a no-go route. With ASA I tried it three times and the pressure always dropped down, so I had to stop ASA and solved the flights starting good old ASV6.5. Tonight I tried the flight with ASE and sadly to say, it ended up the same. Low-Pressure: 24,29 inches!and the Interpolation details:and here is the result with AV6.5:I use FS9.1 and the latest FSUIPC version, this time with CS 757. It was the first time, I had this problem with ASE.My best wishesHans-Christian

KORD RC4.3
Hi Bruce,do You use a modified AFCAD with multiple STAR-runways?I had this kind of trouble with another airport, using FS9.1.The "invisible" runways are always located far away from the airport to prevent the AI-traffic using them.If they are short enough, 10 ft length, RC can handle this, but if they are longer by design, RC may think, this is the real thing and looks for the misplaced airport somewhere near the pole.I have solved this problem using the AFCAD tool and have set the multiple STAR-runways to 10ft length (Do not select the original runways). After doing this, everytrhing was just fine.My best wishesHans-Christian

Networked Pilot Reports
Hi,my problem still remains, in the meantime with a completely reinstalled FS9.1 (german version), even if I disable the firewall at all.I am able to create a pirep which is accepted by ASA, displayed in the program itself and with Xgauge, - but only for some minutes.Pireps sent in by other users are displayed without any problems even if they are "fun"-pireps ("smooth ride" etc).I use ASA mith the newest interim SP, standard settings with changes under the cloud option tab to minimize popups. Besides FS9 etc runs ANTIVIR.It seems, that I

Networked Pilot Reports
Hi,today at 21:55 UTC I sent in a report (EMB195 HVY TURB FL110 NE of EDDH). Again it shows up correctly on Met/Reps page ASA and on XGauge. But as soon as I end a FS9 flight and then open still runnning ASA from Taskbar my pirep is disappearing (Pireps of other users are still shown).I closed the program and restarted ASA. All user pireps are displayed, except the report I sent in. I run ASA with the interim SP, upgraded from ASV.Best WishesHans-Cghristian

Networked Pilot Reports
Hi,are there any rules for accepting and saving Pilot Reports?I am asking this, because whenever I send in a pirep, it seems to be valid only for the moment (PIREP shows up on XGauge and on Met/Reps in ASA).But half an hour later my reports (Heavy Turbulences or Severe Icing) are gone.Best WishesHans-Christian

A wild ride (ASA/FS2004 pressure glitch?)
Hans-Christian replied to Moose4's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumHi,I just want to report, that with todays weather I had no problems to perform the flight again. It seems to be SSE of Grand Turk Isl a difficult area for the weather depiction. Winds, pressure and temperature change every second, but ASA smoothes it very well. So no problems to me anymore.Best WishesHans-Christian

A wild ride (ASA/FS2004 pressure glitch?)
Hans-Christian replied to Moose4's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumHi,I drop in here, because I am confrontated with this problem (FS9, weather options FSUIPC default).I tried a flight from TJSJ to KMIA. Leaving San Juan area, I got severe pressure glitches on FL 360, temperature rising immediatly too, so the aircraft stalled.Descending down to FL260, suddenly I found myself on FL420 with overspeed. This was near Grand Turk Island, where I shut down FS.Never had these problems before with ASA. In case there were corrupt weather files, I

Asa Time Changes And No Weather Updates
Hi,I just want to let you know, that besides the well known time changes and the stratus/cumulus issue on high altitudes, ASA is running now very nice on my system. The other issues I moaned about, were caused by my settings in FSUIPC (wind smoothing, visibillity smoothing, which worked perfect with ASV 6.5).After turning both off in FSUIPC (as required in the manual, but I couldn

Asa Time Changes And No Weather Updates
Hi Jim,the time changes in the first minutes, when I start a flight. Only ASA (1st loaded) and FS are running. FSRealTime and FSKeeper not connected to the sim.The green scroll bar tells me, that ASA is initializing, then, or with it, the scenery loads immediatly again with an unwanted change of time. three or four hours ahead and only full hours are changing, minutes and seconds stay the same; then the ASA scroll bar tells me that the initial weather depiction is complete. So I have to reset the time and ASA accept this, without changing the time again.I noticed, that the screenshots of ASA shown in the documentation, have no checkmarks at all on SimTime or RealTime. I tried this too, but sadly to say, the result was the same. So the time changes always, whatever I check or even without checking something here.I never tried a flight without rechanging the time. I will do this, just to see, if the weather will update inflight, because, as I said before, I never saw the green ASA scrollbar during a flight, showing me the weather update.Jim, thanks for Your assistenceRegards Hans-Christian

Asa Time Changes And No Weather Updates
Hello,I am running FS9.1 with FSUIPC 3.8.5.0 (registered version) and WindowsXP Home.Installed ASA (upgrade from ASV6.5) and did not change anything on the option page.My major problems using ASA are:It seems, that ASA does not update weather inflight; I never saw the scrolling text on all of my flights (box checked) using ASA. I am using FSFlightKeeper with the option "Real Time Weather", as ASA is not supported yet and it shows me the updated wind directions for my destination while Xgauge always shows the original loaded situation. When I am inside the compression range of the destination FSFK shows of cause the "old" not updated weather information for my destination. While ASA is communicating with FS9, the "ASAFSUIPC_Log.txt" shows this:17:18:38:0875 - FSUIPC_Wx_Main: RequestTimeStamp : IPC sendmessage failed all retries17:18:49:0546 - FSUIPC_Wx_Main: RequestTimeStamp : IPC request contains bad data17:18:50:0687 - FSUIPC_Wx_Main: RequestTimeStamp : IPC sendmessage failed all retries17:18:51:0843 - FSUIPC_Wx_Main: RequestTimeStamp : IPC sendmessage failed all retries17:18:53:0000 - FSUIPC_Wx_Main: RequestTimeStamp : IPC sendmessage failed all retries17:18:54:0343 - FSUIPC_Wx_Main: RequestTimeStamp : IPC sendmessage failed all retries17:18:55:0500 - FSUIPC_Wx_Main: RequestTimeStamp : IPC sendmessage failed all retries17:18:56:0656 - FSUIPC_Wx_Main: RequestTimeStamp : IPC sendmessage failed all retries17:18:57:0812 - FSUIPC_Wx_Main: RequestTimeStamp : IPC sendmessage failed all retries17:18:58:0968 - FSUIP_new_weather_write: Thread was being aborted.: FSUIPC Unspecified Error number 0After loading FS for a new flight, I sometimes see the green scrolling text: "ASA initializing weather depiction", then the scenery loads again with time sets about 4 hrs ahead. After that the scroll bar shows "ASA initial weather depiction complete!" Sometimes the last text is shown without time changes but if I press "Refresh AI " time changes unwanted for shure. I reset time again and run FSRealTime preventing any unwanted time changes.Smaller issues are sudden graphical changes inflight (popping up clouds, or flying through heavy weather and all of a sudden confrontated with a CAVOK sky conditions and very soft Heavy Turbulences last night at KMSY- but this last issue can be changed by increasing the turbulence scale in the FS9.cfg)After reporting my troubles with ASA I will let You know, that I really like the automated "thermals" during approach, very nice! My best wishesHans-Christian

ASV 6.5 Buid 552: Active Radar doesn
Hello Jim and Damian,I am bringing this up again, because you might want to know the reason causing my strange problem.I followed Your advice and uninstalled the whole FS9 (terrible). After a fresh installation Active Radar worked again without problems. Tonight I found out, that the bglman_skymakers.dat stops AR to load properly. This file will be created, as soon as you activate the scenery "Skymakers_Arturo Merino Benitez (SCEL)" via Virtualis Addonmanager. No problems show up, with the activation of Cloud9 or FsDreamteam products. As soon as I move the bglman_skymakers.dat out of the Module-folder, everything is ok again. A reinstallation isn

ASV 6.5 Buid 552: Active Radar doesn
Hi Damian, thank You for Your reply.@ 1)In the Tracking Display "Weather Tracking" there are two sections: Above: Local Information and at the bottom: Flight Tracking. In Flight Tracking Display the weather-data are displayed as far as they are loaded. I did a mistake in my first posts, sorry. Ithink, I did not wait until the weather was loaded. Everything is ok.Above in the section "Local Information" it is possible to choose "Surface" and "Clouds". This section is stays now completly blank. I am able to choose, but there are no informations at all.@ 2)I tried Your suggestions. The repair installer added all missing files correctly, but - isn

ASV 6.5 Buid 552: Active Radar doesn
Hi Jim,I tried a simple flightplan, build with FS9 and I tried it without importing any flightplans, but inserted under Planning Options the present airport.Under "Planning" the weather was obviously loaded and displayed correctly at the bottom. The field above "Local Information" stayed blank and so was the page "Local Information".As I wrote before, the flightplan always is shown and so is the wind-direction and speed. The settings under options are set to default.RegardsHans-Christian
