Keeping VoxATC panel in switched views
I found a topic on this forum advising how to keep the panel visible when switching views (thanks to the original poster!). "There is a line which can be added to the Vox window section of panel.cfg to any aircraft ..... type = special That will keep the window up when switching views. This works for any window you wish to keep up. ////<VoxATC [Window18] visible=1 position=4 size_mm=400,200 pixel_size = 400, 200 background_color=0,0,0 ident=14077 zorder=5 alpha_blend=0.65 type=special gauge00=VAGauge!VoxATCPrompt,0,0 ////>VoxATC It clutters up the view anyway, so using 'o' to toggle it on and off is nicer IMHO. OH, and the 'o' key only will work after you've enabled it btw." But it just doesn't work for me. With the added type=special the panel remain invisible and does not appear despite the 'o' key enabled in VoxATC. Any ideas please? Without the added line the panel is normal so, as a last resort, I tried amending the cockpit view mini panel by editing out the five instruments hoping to get a clear background with a switchable panel. [Window05] position=7 size_mm=631,100 child_3d=1 background_color=0,0,0 no_luminous=1 ////ident=M But these instruments still appeared with or without ////ident=M ! Any ideas please? Fred

Three Screens Really Makes A Difference
Steve, I have no wish to hijack this thread but I need some help with my NVIDIA 780. I attempted to get it to display 3x 19200x1080 identical monitors in portrait surround sound but without success. I'm running NI (inspecter). Can you please tell me all the steps to get it up and running! [f the originator of this thread desires I can start another thread] fredpop

FsXpand
I had FsXpand working OK but I think VoxATC conflicts with it because FsXpand now reports "PollFS Overflow". I have only a day left on the VoxATC 7 day trial!FsXpand is on PC2 with FsClient.Has anyone got FsXpand and VoxATC working successfully together?Thanksfredpop

Upgrade VOX ATC
VannAre you using XP PRO or XP PRO 64?The reason I ask is I'm thinking of building a fast system to run FSX with VoxATC X and FsXpand (on a linked XP system). I'd prefer to use XP PRO 64 as I understand it can use more memory.Fredpop

Reinstallation via v3?
I don't have an original v4 cd but now I want to make a fresh installation on a new system. Do I have to go down the route of installing v3 and then my v401 update etc. Also at which stage do I register?Couldn't find this in FAQ!Fred

options after go around
Thanks JD for your suggestion to fly multiple GAs but I continued to make more approaches from a saved situation to the same airport. My findings are that with pilot or co-pilot on coms, for an ATC initiated GA, aircraft are immediately told to fly the rwy hdg and then vectors towards the airport until told to maintain a lower height 'until the initial IAP/ILS'.I'm happy to confirm that RC4 doesn't 'forget' aircraft requested an IAP approach! :-)After the inital GA the displayed options change to 'Req Vis App' and 'Req Vector App' so by implication aircraft are still on IAP approaches but to remove any doubt in pilots' minds I would suggest, in a later version, some wording like this: 'Fly heading xxx' (rwy hdg) and then followed immediately by 'Fly vectors until able to resume IAP approach'. I've looked but I think it cannot be done with the present scripts.:-hmmm Fred

options after go around
I've made some trial IAP approaches with gear up and, after the ATC initiated GAs , found that RC4 *does* expect aircraft to make further IAP approaches. My co-pilot was on radios and this may have confused the outcome. Although RC4 defaults to Vectors (RC4 manual) it appears to allow second IAP approaches without specific requests.I'll make some more trials with myself on radios and check again. There's more in RC4 than meets the eye! ;) Fred

options after go around
Thanks Doug - I'll make some more IAS approaches in the hope of getting another GA. I think I was vectored in again but I'll check this. For the purposes of this trial is there any way of increasing the chances of being given a GA?Fred

options after go around
The tower instructed me to "go around" from my IAP approach and then gave me vectors which I followed while I cleaned up the aircraft and accelerated. By then I was looking for an option to request a second IAP approach but I wasn't offered one! I could get an IAP option only after declaring an emergency. Did I miss something?Fred
