Hi, THe reason is that it is recommanded to have a 512mb Graphic card as stated in PMDG 747-400 FSX website, and I am not sure whether I should follow that recommandation to get a 512mb card with slower GPU speed, or fast GPU with 256 mb ram. ( I am not going to spend 600 USD for those higher end graphic card with 512 mb ram like ATI1950 with 512DDR)thanksben

Hi, For aircraft addon, I only have PMDG744 and I feel that it is more than enough. However, I do have a lot of sceneries where I flew my PMDG744 to. Detailed addon scenery and pmdg744 is a perfect match, and without any one them, the remaining is meaningless. (The most enjoyable moment is when I am taxing, taking off and landing in a detailed airport with pmdg744)I still haven't start uninstalled it because I want to hear some more suggestions first. It is a one way trip. After I clicked the uninstall button, there is no way back...thanksben

Hi, I only have PMDG 744 as my addon aircraft. However, on the other hand, I have some addon sceneries. Could I just backup some related files or folders such as scenery.cfg, and cut and paste those files or folders to the newly installed FS04 directory and let FS9 build the scenery database itself.thanksben

HI, I am having a problem with my FS04, it can't start, after I clicked the icon, the DC3 picture pop up and then the FS quits. I insert the Disk one and thought that it has repair function, but unfortunately it doesn't. Now I have no choice but unistall and re install it again. My question is, will I need to reinstall all the add on such as PMDG or scenery?thanksben

Hi, My FS9 was running fine, however, I didn't know what I do and now FS9 simply can't start. I click the icon and then I see DC3 screen for a while, then it quit itself. Does anyone knows why?thanksben

Hi,Thanks you very much... I just found out the reason: the heat sink was not properly fasten to the mother board... Now the CPU temp remains at low 50. Is low 50 a reasonable temp or I need to buy a good heat sink to bring it down to 40?thanksben

Hi guys, I just replaced my old celeron D CPU with a pentium D 940.. I just used the orginal intel heat sink (the fan) without any additional cooling equipment(I did remove the old and apply a new layer of heat paste). However, I played PMDG 744 right after I installed the new CPU yesterday, it runs perfect with frame rate up to 25. I left my computer on for 20 hours and then played PMDG again, the frame rate dropped down to 5. I then restarted the computer and look at the CPU temp in the BIOS setup manual and the temp is 74 degree C. Is the CPU temp too high and slowing down my PC performance? If yes, can anyonw suggests a low cost remendies?thanksben

Hi all, I am just wondering is GPWS Windshear warnings for 744 modeled? If no, what is the good indicator for windshear? I just did a landing in VHHH 07L and I set the wind to be 14025G35, at about 200' RA, the wind arrow in the ND shifted from 140 to 190, and I was trapped in tailwind condition but fortunately, I am still still managed to land the plane. However, is it a good sign of windshear?thanksben

yeah...about 10 kts tailwind if the wind condition didn't change in ground level. Did u end up rolling over the edge of runway and surfing on victoria harbour, like the china air 13 years ago..ben

Hi, Just a side question. WHat is the purpose of HDG HOLD when the 747 has HDG SEL. You can HOLD a specific heading with heading select function, why brother using heading hold. The only 2 likely situations I can think of is during Go Around and T/O, while you want the AP to maintain rwy heading so you can focus on other stuffs like gear and flap. However, a good pilot should tune the HDG display in the MCP to the rwy heading before T/O and LDG, so they can just press the heading select button. thanksben

Hi, Just to share my personal experience. My girl friend brought me the FSX on OCT 12 as my birthday present. I was very happy and surprised. However, after I had played for 5 hrs, I gave up and back to FS2004 with PMDG 744. My girl friend asked me why and I told her that I will come back to it once the PMDG 744 FSX version has released, but she looked confused and said 'isn't the new version is better?'.... sometimes it is hard to explain flightsim issues to a non flightsimmerhahaben

Hi, I don't how to file it on FS. However, what I usually do is to use fsbuild. It is easy since it will automatically created flight plan files for the queen's FMC and FS at once, with a nice looking map which shows you which parts of the earth you will fly over, as well as giving you the ETE and it is pretty accurate if you have activesky. Having said that, from my point of view, you can ignore the total fuel requirement and fuel remain on each fix which are produced by fsbuild, they are inaccurate.ben

Hi, My way is to go to DEP/ARR page and then select the STAR and RWY (or just RWY, depends on how you like your route to be set) and DIR to a desired waypoint.E.g. For Rwy 7 L, usually I will be given a direct clearance to TD, then, on my FMC, I will set ELATO1A and Rwy 7L, then set the FMC to DIR to TD and finish off the procedure. (It looks like a right hand circuit).Beside setting the AI traffic density, you can also get the aismooth software, it is awesome.Thanksben

Hi, "An alternative is to purchase FSBuild 2.2 (or FSNav). They export flight plans files for both Flight Simulator and the PMDG 737/747. FSBuild can even talk with ActiveSky to get winds aloft data and insert that into the 747's FMC file. =)"It is the way I always do. Cut the real flight route from flightaware.com and paste it to FSbuild, it is quite interesting to see how NOPAT changes from day to day by looking at those cross pacific flight. However, could anyone tells me how the real world dispatch procedure works? e.g. do they have a software similar to FSBuild, how do they file flightplan ...etc.Thanksben
