  1. Wow, this is interesting. Being a fellow Nevadan you have my vote.John B
  2. Great replies all, some interesting suggestions here. Just out of curiosity, it would be interesting to hear what kind of testing routine everyone uses, do you keep to a strict plan or just freeform it. Thanks again all.John B
  3. I read a forum discussion a good while back, that if you reduce the loadout in the cargo baysby half, or just reduce the loadout overall you will be able to input the gross weight no problem. Seems that the bird comes fully loaded and is over it's cg tolerence therefore you will get the invalid message on the fmc everytime. I'll see if I can dig that discussion up, although it's been a couple of years.John B
  4. Wow, that's painful hearing about those Mosquitos :( John B
  5. Thanks for the tips Jeff, I'll have to go and check out those Canadian airports you mentioned.
  6. Hello all. I was just curious to see what airports folks are using when testing out that newest payware, or downloaded aircraft. For a long time now I have used Roswell International Air Center "KROW" as my goto test field, the runways are large enough for a fully loaded PMDG 747 and the scenery doesn't kill the frame rates. My usual routine is to load up at KROW and fly down to Carlsbad or El Paso depending on the aircraft, then fly back for an ILS approach then do a few touch and go's. Recently, I've been thinking of picking up shop and moving to a new airport. Lake Moses in Washington State looks interesting, however, I was just curious to see what airfields others are using for testing. Well, gotta run, I see there is a new MD-11 on the ramp ready for a test circut down to El Paso and back. Thanks all.

One of the cool things about this sim is that you can Tab between vehicles. Hop in your Jet Ranger, fly out to the Enterprise and land on the deck, then tab out of the Helo and it puts you on the bridge of the ship which you can sail around while your chopper sits on the deck. One thing I did notice is that the aircraft require you to keep the throttle really low to keep the speed down but no biggie, having fun with this little sim and just might have to buy this one. :( John B.

You can download it and play it in demo mode, runs for about ten minutes or so before you have to restart. Seems like an upgraded Virtual Sailor with Planes, Cars, boats etc... A fun little sim.
  9. Ok, so it's not Flight Sim, but pretty cool nonetheless. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTDuGaTRiJU...feature=related

My guess is that they will disclose the true identity of Ponderosa and finally solve one of the biggest mysteries in FS history. :(
  11. If you are looking for a short haul Boeing you might want to check out Feelthere's 737PIC. It doesn't have all the eycandy and gimmicks of the Ariane 37's but, it's still a pretty good offering and it's priced much more reasonably.Just do yourself a favor and seach for Ariane in the forums and if the horror stories don't put you off well then, I wish you luck because we all know a tiger never changes his stripes.John B

Hey Dewey, this might be what you are looking for: http://www.a2asimulations.com/store/wop2_p40/John B
  13. Hmm. Well, if they cut the price by half and went to something like the flight1 wrapper it might be worth checking out. However, I suspect it will be more of the same, overpriced and a nightmarish activation scheme. As usual, more of the same from our good friends at Ariane.John B

I was looking through the Ariane site and was suprised to see they charge you
  15. If you are having problems with the config utility not saving your settings, seems there is a fix. Heres the link: http://www.digital-aviation.de/ewpforum/viewtopic.php?t=3946 John B
