  1. Hello,

I use p3d v4, installed the sdk, but when I started the 737 I had a not working cockpit and some screens  in the middle are  missing.

The planes and cockpit worked normal until now.

The 747 II is working perfect it is only this type.

    Anyone any ideas?

    Thanks

  2. I have the same problem. No possibility the load the tutorial 2 flight.

And no flightplans for tutorial 1

Anyone know if I missed something?

If I look in the PMDG DC-6 map I see a lot of files, but they are all in txt format.

Maybe the wrong format send with the documentation?

    Thanks for responding

  3. Do I have to say DC-6, Why should I write down or talk about DC-6, no reason to talk about the DC-6,

As far as I know the DC-6 is a complete different plane. So if I had to talk about the DC-6 I should start a new threat about the DC-6.

Anyway, hoping the new DC-6 for Prepar3d v4 is comming soon.

There must be a lot of threats about the DC-6 than.

May be we should start a threat about the MD11 instead of the DC-6

  4. Didn't know about 'A' - I'll give that a try.

I suffer from severe psoriatic arthritis, and frankly, even after I left the PC and aren't even sitting in front of the PC now for a good few hours, my neck and stuff is still sore and stiff - so more than likely not related to the constant moving around as I've thought initially.  I am / was even looking at TrackIR too, but even there still, I am not convinced that it will give me a pleasurable experience.  Perhaps I'm just weird or something.

Part of my problem is also that I fly with the keyboard.  No yoke and/or external controls.  I've never had the reason for it, and frankly, I am not a committed enough simmer to invest in it.  So flying with the keyboard, and the VC (esp. with Ez Doc basically changing all the key binds on the num pad) is also a big part of why this is such a struggle.

I haven't changed any viewpoints from the default installs (not intentionally in any case - I never even looked at camaras.cfg).  Frankly, I've just un-installed and re-installed the 737's for the 1d service pack, and stock standard, the throttles are in the way of viewing the FMC properly (when throttles are controlled by AT - i.e. in use and not in idle positions) - can't see the bottom left side of the keypad, and a little bit of the bottom part of the screen....

Perhaps it's just time to nuke cameras.cfg and see if a reset to defaults will help.  Something tells me that Ez Doc (or I), messed something up there more than what I thought.

Will give it a go again, but I'm not prepared to fork out what PMDG charges for the 777 (and I'm sure future planes too), if only a VC is available and I am not 100% confident in using the VC.  Purchased Aerosoft's Airbuses (both of them) too, and never made one complete flight with them yet because of the VC....

It's unfortunately sad, but true.  And I'm also fairly sure that I can't be the only one here too... I'm not THAT unique :)

Yes, it take some time to get used to it. Bit believe me you will.

Many panels are clickable so you can get a close look.

One thing helped me a lot, a game mouse where you can assign a key to one of the knobs.

I assigned the " space"  to one of my mouse knobs. (the one under my thumb) So I have to use just 1 hand to look around and use the mouse

  5. Hi Albin,

It can be frustrating if things won't work

I don't know if this helps, but if you look in your configuration panel under programs, there must be 4 " microsoft flight simulator connect client" entries and 1 Microsoft ESP Simconnect. I don't know if the last one is needed for FS or P3d. But the other 4 I am certain.

If you miss some the plane doesn't work ok.

And I think no need to tell you but sometimes P3D starts with the new PMDG installed but not asking for an activation.

You have to change multiple times different PMDG planes before the activation window start or sometimes it is hidden behind another screen.

    Be sure you have activated

    Succes

  6. Hi Bryan,

Just curious, f.i. a new Windows go to different people in a " test fase" so they can anticipate on the release.

Isn't that the case with flights developers? Or don't you get or can ask a list of changes ?

Thanks for working on the upgrade. it isn't real anymore without my copilot :-)

    regards

    Eric

  7. Estonia.

...but this generally isn't a good idea anyway. Not only for the legal issues you mentioned, for the fact that it can cause issues with certain addons that even have P3D-specific installers. As an example, some of our testers saw issues with our aircraft with our P3D-specific installers. The tool was somehow interfering.

    Hi Kyle,

    Estonia, you are right.

If I talk about add ons, I never think of airplanes. Only about scenery.

Never tried to install a FSX airplane. To tricky for me, I haven't got the knowledge to know certain if something works the way it should.

  8. My upgrade to WIN 10 went well, however after the upgrade was completed I tried to restart FSX (no joy),  Very slow - asked all the "trusted software" questions.  Took forever to load. I'm running DX 10 Scenery Fixer as well.  FSX was running very smooth in WIN 7.

You could decide to go to P3D. No need for fixer anymore, if FSX runs smooth on your computer than P3D should do as well.

And with the two tools from Flightsim Astonia you could install every FSX addon in P3D.

(Beware some addons had legal issues)

  9. Here is my current deal:

I was fed up with all the OOM's and Joystick problems, and figured Windows 10 couldn't be any worse.

My problems have all been solved! (except one small detail)

    No more joystick problems.

No more Out of Memory Errors.

Windows 10 seems to have solved all of those issues. It was easy to upgrade and went as smooth as butter.

Also, FSX Steam is a big help with the tools that are offered on the logon site. The game files verify feature is sweet.

I just flew my PMDG 777-200LR 10 hours from OMDB to RJAA with the FSX default scenery .cfg and landed with everything on (Weather on Pilot side / Terrain on F/O side) looking out of the airplane from every angle. Used only 3.1 gig of the allotted 4.0 VAS. Previously, I would have run out of VAS at about six hours.

So, for me Windows 10 and Steam is the way to go!!!

flying with default scenery is switching off the most important cause for oom's, as far as I know.

Try to fly around with lot's of heavy scenery and OOm's still happen. Although I have to admit that with Windows 10 they are not so frequent anymore.

  10. Sorry Dan,

    You're right.

Here is where I found it:

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-windows_install/error-80070004-3000d-when-trying-to-install/01c85e4a-6ee6-4665-bdda-683e57d02eb3?auth=1

    Fixed!

I got in touch with MS 3 times.

The first time the chap changed an OSWindowsUpdate registry entry but that didn't make a difference. The second time we used the Media Creation Tool option and again, no joy and same problem. The 3rd time, however, he deleted an empty folder from the Start menu (and I deleted a few more) and then ran the Media Creation Tool and it worked flawlessly.

    So try this:

Go into your start menu C:\users\<youraccount>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs and delete any empty folders. If you run a flight simulator, apparently the ORBX folder (scenery addon software) is specifically causing the issue.

Once that's gone, then got to http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install and download and run the Windows Update from there.

  11. On my computer everything works fine with Windows 10.

I only had a problem with upgrading. (windows 10) This was caused by OrbX. (found this solution on the internet)

I don't know why but Windows stops upgrading. After removing orbx the upgrade succeed and after reinstalling Orbx everything works fine.

I have the feeling that it is a little bit better on fps. ((2/3 more ) but not certain about that. Didn't test this properly

  12. Thanks Roberto for the help :)

I am using P3D (windowed) and still no joy being able to 'press' any buttons or switches undocked to the iPad?

I have a mouse cursor but no touchscreen interaction with the Sim. Maybe a P3D issue...?

No, not a p3d issue. I use windows 8.1, 2 monitors and P3D 2.5. This app works great.

If you push the buttons of the FMC  the mouse switches to the Ipad. So the first time you have to push twice.

  13. If you are using the Navigraph database manager program, you need to be careful when initially telling it where to install PMDG files. The installer needs to be pointed at the main folder where FSX/P3D itself is installed - NOT at the PMDG folder therein.

If you look at the main folder structure of FSX with Windows Explorer, there will be a folder inside called PMDG. Inside of the PMDG folder is a sub folder called NAVDATA. Inside of that folder are the actual AIRAC files. If, inside of the NAVDATA folder is another folder called PMDG, with another NAVDATA folder inside (I.e. FSX\PMDG\NAVDATA\PMDG\NAVDATA), then your database manger has "buried" the actual AIRACS one layer too deep, and will need to be reconfigured.

Yep, and not only the navigraph program, but the aerosoft navdata has the same problem.

You can solve it to manualy place it in the right folder.

  14. I use prepar3d 2.5

Fly with PMDG 737, PMDG 777 and Majestic Q400 (and some other stuff)

I use a Saitek yoke and Saitek throttle quadrant.

I also use fsuipc to set this up

    Some strange thing happens.

PMDG 737, Q400 and all the other planes are working fine.

But when I use the PMDG 777  the Saitek throttle quadrant works fine , but it doesn't respond on the yoke.

I reinstalled several times, but nothing works. Only the yoke isn't working and only in the 777.

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Eric
