When in outside view all lights are where they are supposed to be on wings and fuselage.
Hi Jean Claude,
is it working already?
If not, I can take a look tonight and sent you my cfg setting. If you compare it with your own, maybe you find a difference.
And of course a support ticket is always handy ^_^ .

I use a laptop and generally get 30/35 fps with the NGX at large scenery areas. If the 777 can gain 5fps in performance that would be a great advantage.
Hi Oliver,
30/35 is a lot. How did you set your sliders? Maximum or medium?
Thanks.
Eric
I already own the Ifly 737 NG. Would it be fiscally foolish to also buy the PMDG 737 NGX. I realize they are both excellent products (read: don't knock the IFLY :)) jr.com has the NGX in a box for 59.99 no shipping/tax :)
Philip.
I own them both too. But the level of detail of the PMDG is a lot higher an the systems are far more complex.
So if you like high quality graphics and " as real as possible" you should definitely buy the PMDG .

PMDG has a good "business" model and produces aircraft I want to simulate in FSX but their customer support is no good; shame really.
Hi Ebodee,
Well you can debate if you have to pay for a redownload or not. I can think of pro's and con's, but to say the whole customer support is no good, is not fair and simply not true.
After many years of using PMDG products I had to sent a ticket twice ( a few days ago).
Both were answered within 12 hours and helped me immediately.
I used to fly with an other 737 a few years ago and I can tell you that they gave bad support a whole new meaning..
(I'm still waiting for their navigation software by the way :P )

Hi Eric,
Glad you're liking the software.
There are a million ways to skin a cat, and FS2Crew generally does it the way it's done at one particular operator.
Other airlines may do things slightly differently.
Cheers,
Thanks Bryan,
Nice to know.

Greetings,
i have two question
1. how can i turn the Wx on ? or that thing is not working ???
2. if i have this airway
2600N 06000W 3400N 05000W 3900N 04500W 4300N 04000W 4700N 03000W 4900N 02000W / how can i enter those airway in my FMC on PMDG 747-400 ?
Regards,
Hi El Piloto,
To explain shortly how to use the FMC is rather difficult, but download here a tutorial:
http://www.fs-tutorials.com/en/tuto_B747_400_PMDG.php
It explains every step with a text and a picture. It takes an hour of your time, but after that you understand and can use every FMC easily, because you know what and why you are doing things.
It helped me a lot to understand.

How long your 777 hauls will be, average ?
The Poll is intended using no accelerated time of course.
10-12 hours. As long as I have the possibility to save. I fly the hauls in 2-3 days.
Not realistic but very convenient :-)

No idea what you're talking about here - we can't modify the simulator's core engine - that would be hacking Microsoft's files and would be illegal even if we knew how. (I've never heard of anyone getting around this anyway - find me another aircraft with more animations than the NGX has...)
Hi Ryan,
Just wondering, if you have the code (like buying from Microsoft as is done by Lockheed if I understand it well ) is it possible to recode it so you can make it a better FS ? Or at least for PMDG aircrafts?
(Forgive me if this sound foolish, but computer coding isn't my thing)

I'm very happy with the FS2crew add ons, makes it al lot more " real".
I was wondering if the things the FO is doing and the things the Captain is doing in FS2crew is exactly like the real world.
It seems not very balanced. The FO is doing much more than the captain.
As a " captain" I set up my part and than most of the time I have to wait untill the FO is ready with his preparations.
Lot of time to study the charts.
It is no problem, but I'm just curious.

Hi,
Forgive me for my lenghty post. But honestly I'm tired of stutters on PMDG.
I run the PMDG 738 NGX on a Dell Alienware i7 2820QM (2.3 gh) , 10 GB RAM, Geforce GTX 460M graphics card. I'm encountering regular interval stutters while taxing, takeoff, landing (1000 ft and below) and during turns.
It's like ( smooth ...... smooth ....... smooth goes .... on) and then it stops. Same thing while taxing.
While stuttering the frame rate drops to a miserable 5fps.
I do not want to overclock the cpu/gpu as it's a laptop and it's never a good option to overclock. In the long run, it's going to mess up the system.
I've tried to optimize the fsx.cfg file using ******* Altuve program. But there was no improvement at all.
Due to this problem, my sliders are mostly to the left.
My setting below. Since I do not have MS-word, I've to type out all settings.
Graphics
Target frame rate 20
Global texture resolution - very high
Anti Aliasing - selected
bilinear - selected
lens flare - unselected
directx 10 preview - unselected
adv animations - selected
Aircraft
High res 3d virtual cockpit - selected
aircraft casts shadows on ground - selected
aircraft casts shadows on itself - not selected
landing lights illuminate grnd - selected.
Scenery
Radius level - small (With a high value, if I walk, I'll reach faster to my dest )
mesh complexity - 50%
mesh res - 38m
texture res - 5m
water effects - none
land detail textures - selected
scenery complexity - very dense
autogen density - sparse
ground scenery shadows - not selected
sp. effects - low
Weather
cloud draw dist - 60mi
thermal vis - none
detailed clouds - selected - low
download winds aloft real world weather - selected
Traffic
Aircraft traffic density - 85%
gen aviation traffic - 25%
airport vehicle density - med
road vehicles - 22%
ships/ferries/boats - 5%
With the above bare minimum settings, I get periodic stutters with PMDG. Please help.
This is a brand new machine and i assume that this a pretty good configuration.
Thanx
Sanjay Dhareshwar
Sanjay,
Do you use autosave with FSUICP (or something like that) ?
Standard it makes a lot of savings and cause a lot of stutters, but if you save every 10 minutes it isn't that bad.

who wants a pmdg 717
I don't want a 717. But if the're making a 787 than it would be great. (but please after the 777 and 747 !!)

I made a search regarding this topic and found quite a number of threads on AVSIM and elsewhere but failed to find a single clear answer, either because it relates to REX which I don't have, or because solutions when found were not explained...
As the title implies, I cannot see any light on the ground in front of my MD11 cockpit. I do NOT have REX but AS 2012 and I did not install any freeware plane other than the WOAI aircraft.
Could anyone share a solution to that problem please?
No doubt you have checked this already, but to be certain, did you look into your settings. You can turn it on and off there.

The fact that there are no window reflections are missing is a minor thing.- it's a great plane.
Do the tutorial flight from London to Zurich, you will love this plane.
I totally agree with you. It is a great plane.
PMDG explained why there isn't any reflection.
But I have to agree with Branton. It would have made the looks in the VC more like " the inside of something" like in the 737NGX.
But if you start flying with the plane, you very quickly forget about the reflections. I fly several times in the real MD11 cockpit and this PMDG MD11 is as real as you can get. A great plane !! Even without reflections :P

There is already a very nice freeware RAAS in AVSIM library. Search "fsraas".
ok, I take a look. Thanks
Eric

yes indeed ! would be nice to have RAAS (Runway Awareness and Advisory System).
Cheers.
fs2crew is making a RAAS system

Registered.. found out you had to pay for some credits to buy it. :( Pass.
Well if you have a fmc and fly online, it is a must. And I think it isn't expensive.
You don't have to buy all. You can choose to buy 2 times a year. You're not up to date than, but most of the time you don't notice the data is outdated.

150 views and no comments. Hardly an encouragement for this person to do more, don't you think?
Well I downloaded it a few weeks ago and I must say it is a nice piece of work

I'd personally love to see this in a Service Pack on the NGX. It would be fantastic.
I have it already. Shift-P and running

Yes i tried different airports on different continents an still the long load time persists and the blurry textures as well. i uninstalled REX essentials an problem resolved. However i used REX overdrive with all my Caribbean scneery addons before an i never had any problems or low frame rates!
anyone experiencing problesm with ESsentials?
If I use the default texture set of REX essentials. I have no problems, but if I change something in the textures I have the same problem and very low performance.
I'm still searching what the problem is.

Check out the product produced by wheel tug that allows aircraft to pushback and taxi with a motor powered by the APU and connected to the nose wheel. Apparently there are already 200 products reserved in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Neat stuff!
I'm wondering, will these aircrafts have side mirrors (heated of course)
Eric

No never, I don't like it, but fortunately I have a very good maintenance crew. :Liar:
Serious, setting up the aircraft and flying safely is difficult enough for me.

will all of the problems we have had on the 747-400x such as the skeleton etc be fixed in the 747V2?? it would be nice if this could be resolved.
Also when are the first shots of the v2 estimated to be released? we've already see some 777 ones..shouldn't be long now.
Nathan Green
Nathan,
If I remember well the shots of the V2 will appear after the release of the 777.

The VC of this aircraft gives me a huge frame rate hit and I was wondering some good ways to get some back because I really don't like to use the 2D panel. I used the Performance Manager and put everything on low resolution. What others ways are there to get better performance.
Hi,
What are your computer specs?

Eric are you using 1.17 version you need that version and you can only get it from flight1 forum for starters let me know then I can help you out if you wish.
Hi Rich,
I use 1.17
Maybe I will make another try in the next days.
I appreciate your help.
I'll let you know.
Thanks
