  1. Ten years ago, a small group of dedicated flight simulator enthusiasts, found themselves looking for a new place to call home. Lots of ideas went back and forth and four months later with the simple slogan Fly Virtually Anywhere!™, Canadian Xpress® was born. Looking back, had anyone told the five founding members Marc Wheeler (CXA001), Paul Mercier (CXA052), John Sousa (CXA004), Dave Weese (CXA007) and Robert Versluys (CXA328) that Canadian Xpress® would still be going strong after 10 years, we would not have believed it. To celebrate our 10 years of operation, Canadian Xpress® is going on a tour that consists of 22 legs where we are going to visit the home towns of our founding management members and of those who have joined since then (as of April 2019) to help keep Canadian Xpress® Flying Virtual Anywhere!™ The Canadian Xpress® 10 Year Anniversary Tour starts where it all began in Montreal where you will pick up our new Boeing 777-300 aircraft which is available to all pilots regardless of rank, but only for the tour until August 31st, 2020 and begin your journey to each management members home town. Join Canadian Xpress today by visiting http://CanadianXpress.ca and help us celebrate 10 years of Flying Virtually Anywhere! *Canadian Xpress accepts 50% of your VATSIM, IVAO or other virtual airline hours with no limits.
  2. This month, we are going to fly the busiest flight route in Canada. The Montreal / Toronto corridor is the busiest travel route in Canada. Over 10,000 people travel between these 2 cities every day over land and air. Canada’s 2 major airlines WestJet and Air Canada each operate hourly flights and on busier days a flight departs every 30 minutes. WestJet uses its fleet of Bombardier Dash 8-Q400s on this route and Air Canada uses the Airbus A320s and Boeing 737s. However, is not out of the ordinary to see Boeing 777s running this route a few times a week as well. On average 160 flights a day operate between these two cities. Canadian Xpress would like to invite all pilots & virtual airlines to join us on Saturday, March 23rd at 10h00edt (14h00z) and 21h00edt (Sunday 01h00z) for our March 2019 fly-in where we fly from Montreal (CYUL) to Toronto (CYYZ). 4. Over the last 10 years, Canadian Xpress has visited some of the most amazing airports around the world and Paro is no exception. This flight is one of the most enjoyable and challenging fly-in events we have ever done. This month we are Returning to an event from November of 2012 and revisiting Paro, Bhutan. Paro Airport is the only international airport in Bhutan. The airport is located 4 miles from Paro in a deep valley on the bank of the river Paro Chhu. With surrounding peaks as high as 18,000 ft it is considered one of the world's most challenging airports. As of October 2009, only eight pilots in the world were certified to land at the airport. Flights at Paro are allowed under visual meteorological conditions only and are restricted to daylight hours from sunrise to sunset. Canadian Xpress would like to invite all pilots & virtual airlines to join us on Saturday, February 23rd at 10h00est (15h00z) and 21h00est (Sunday 02h00z) for our February 2019 fly-in where we fly from Indira Gandhi (VIDP) to Paro (VQPR). 7. In celebration of our 10th anniversary, this month we go way back to the beginning of our monthly challenges to where it all began and fly our very first challenge from the Fall of 2009, Check Rides. In that event, we flew the Cirrus SR-20 from Les Cedres (CSS3) just outside of Montreal to Mont-Tremblant (CYFJ). It was a simple little 70nm trip just to test everything out. This month, your challenge is to fly the same route but after 10 years the scenery & aircraft have improved and should make for an enjoyable flight experience. Join Canadian Xpress today in order to participate as there are some great prizes to be won including: Any Aerosoft Download Product from: The January 2019 Challenge is open to all Canadian Xpress pilots from January 3rd until January 29th, 2019 so join Canadian Xpress today by visiting http://CanadianXpress.ca . *Canadian Xpress accepts 50% of your VATSIM, IVAO or other Virtual airline hours with no limits.

  9. After nearly 10 years of calling Montreal home, the lease is up on our office space at Montreal (CYUL) and we are heading west to Edmonton (CYEG). That means we have a lot of office equipment, spare parts, and airplanes to get out of Montreal before December 31st. Any newer pilots looking to jump ranks are going to love this. Time is tight to make this all happen, so we are authorizing double time pay to move some aircraft. For every flight hour you log, we’ll give you double the hours. This month, your mission is to fly from Montréal (CYUL) to Edmonton (CYEG) with any Canadian Xpress that you have the rank to fly, meaning if you are a Captain you can only fly that class of aircraft. Join Canadian Xpress today in order to participate as there are some great prizes to be won including: Any Aerosoft Download Product from: The December 2018 Challenge is open to all Canadian Xpress pilots from December 3rd until December 23rd, 2018 so join Canadian Xpress today by visiting http://CanadianXpress.ca . *Canadian Xpress accepts 50% of your VATSIM, IVAO or other Virtual airline hours with no limits.
  10. FedEx Corporation is an American multi-national courier delivery services company headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee. The name "FedEx" is a syllabic abbreviation of the name of the company's original air division, Federal Express (now FedEx Express), which was used from 1973 until 2000. The company is known for its overnight shipping service and for pioneering a system that could track packages and provide real-time updates on package location, a feature that has now been implemented by most other carrier services. Canadian Xpress would like to invite all pilots & virtual airlines to join us on Saturday, October 20th at 10h00edt (14h00z) and 21h00edt (Sunday 01h00z) for our October 2018 fly-in where we fly from Toronto (CYYZ) to Memphis (KMEM). 11. Gibraltar Airport is considered a hazard for aircraft because the Rock of Gibraltar sits ever so close to the runway. Approaching planes have to curve sharply over the Bay of Algeciras before touching down to land. Furthermore, the facility literally has a road cutting through it. Both cars and planes must wait patiently for each other to pass. Understandably, this creates a disturbance in the airport’s operations. This month, your mission is to fly from Barcelona (LEBL) to Gibraltar Airport (LXGB) with either the Canadian Xpress Boeing 737-700/900 or Airbus A318/A319/A320 freeware or payware aircraft which are available to all pilots regardless of rank, but only for the challenge. Join Canadian Xpress today in order to participate as there are some great prizes to be won including: Any Aerosoft Download Product from: The October 2018 Challenge is open to all Canadian Xpress pilots from October 3rd until October 29th, 2018 so join Canadian Xpress today by visiting http://CanadianXpress.ca . *Canadian Xpress accepts 50% of your VATSIM, IVAO or other Virtual airline hours with no limits.
  12. Founded in 1729, Baltimore is the second-largest seaport in the Mid-Atlantic. The city’s Inner Harbor was once the second leading port of entry for immigrants to the United States and a major manufacturing center. After a decline in major manufacturing, industrialization, and rail transportation, Baltimore shifted to a service-oriented economy, with Johns Hopkins Hospital (founded 1889) and Johns Hopkins University (founded 1876), now the city's top two employers. With hundreds of identified districts, Baltimore has been dubbed a "city of neighborhoods". Famous residents have included writers Edgar Allan Poe, singer Billie Holiday and baseball player Babe Ruth. Canadian Xpress would like to invite all pilots & virtual airlines to join us on Saturday, September 29th at 10h00edt (14h00z) and 21h00edt (Sunday 01h00z) for our September 2018 fly-in where we fly from Toronto (CYYZ) to Baltimore (KBWI). 13. Agatti Island is a remote island off the coast of India that is only accessible by boat or airplane. Being that it’s located on a tiny archipelago, the airport doesn’t have a lot of space for airplanes. Its runway is only 4,235 feet in length, making it too short to accommodate most commercial aircraft. The facility is about to undergo an expansion, which will see the existing runway expanded by 1,100 feet. They will also construct a new terminal building and parking area. In the future, it will be able to handle an Airbus A320 and Boeing 737. Back when it was built in 1988, the only plane it could take was a Dornier 228. This month, your mission is to fly from Cochin International (VOCI) to Agatti (VOAT) with either the Canadian Xpress® Aerospatiale ATR72-500 or Bombardier Dash 8-Q400 which is available to all pilots regardless of rank, but only for the challenge. Join Canadian Xpress today in order to participate as there are some great prizes to be won including: Any Aerosoft Download Product from: The September 2018 Challenge is open to all Canadian Xpress pilots from September 2nd until September 29th, 2018 so join Canadian Xpress today by visiting http://CanadianXpress.ca . *Canadian Xpress accepts 50% of your VATSIM, IVAO or other Virtual airline hours with no limits.
  14. Salzburg is the fourth-largest city in Austria and is internationally renowned for its baroque architecture. It is one of the best-preserved city centers and has 27 churches north of the Alps. Salzburg was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996. Salzburg was the birthplace of 18th-century composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. 15. Few months ago, we found one of the best YouTube channels out there: steveo1kinevo. If you enjoy real life flying videos, we highly recommend that you subscribe to his channel. This month we follow one of his more recent videos in the Bahamas. Departing at Opa-locka Executive (KOPF) in Florida, your mission is to fly to New Bight (MYCB) on Cat Island with either the Canadian Xpress® Cirrus SR-20 or Cessna C208B Grand Caravan. 16. Chicago is the third most populous city in the United States after New York City and Los Angeles. 17. Velana International Airport, also known as Malé International Airport is the main international airport in the Maldives. It is located on Hulhulé Island in the North Malé Atoll near the capital island Malé. Today, the airport is well connected with major airports around the world serving as the main gateway into the Maldives for tourists. The airport is on an island of its own with no run off room at the end so be ready to go around or you could get your feet wet, should you land long. This month's challenge is to see how well you can fly from Bandaranaike Int'l Airport (VCBI) in Sri Lanka and cross the Laccadive Sea to Hulhulé (VRMM) with either either the Canadian Xpress® Airbus A319-111, Airbus A320-200, Boeing 737-700 or Boeing 737-900 which are available to all pilots regardless of rank but only for the challenge. 18. Unfortunately the P3Dv4 B737-200 no longer has the FMC as the previous FSX/P3D version which is a real shame. It was one of my favorite aircraft, but now is like so many other aircraft that I have that can only fly VORs or NDBs.
  19. Been using EFB since it was first released. Can't wait to get my hands on v2. In my opinion it is worth the price.
  20. San Diego International Airport, formerly known as Lindbergh Field, is an international airport 3 mi northwest of Downtown San Diego, California, United States. In 2015, traffic at San Diego International exceeded 20 million passengers, serving more than 500 scheduled operations carrying about 50,000 passengers each day. While primarily serving domestic traffic, San Diego has nonstop international flights to Canada, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. San Diego is the largest metropolitan area in the United States that is not an airline hub or secondary hub. However, San Diego is a focus city for Alaska and Southwest Airlines. San Diego International is the busiest single runway airport in the United States and third-busiest single runway in the world, behind Mumbai and London Gatwick. Due to the airports short usable-runway, close proximity to the skyscrapers of Downtown San Diego and steep landing approach as a result of the nearby Peninsular Ranges, KSAN has been called "the busiest, most difficult single runway in the world" and operates in controlled airspace served by the Southern California TRACON, which is some of the busiest airspace in the world. Canadian Xpress would like to invite all pilots & virtual airlines to join us on Saturday, June 16th at 10h00edt (14h00z) and 21h00edt (Sunday 01h00z) for our June 2018 fly-in where we fly from San Francisco (KSFO) to San Diego (KSAN). This is an open invitation to all pilots no matter what your flying experience to attend this Canadian Xpress event that will be flown on the VATSIM network. 21. The busiest international flight is also a very short flight in terms of international routes. The route between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore is the worlds busiest international route with over 30,000 flights made between the two cities in 2017. An aircraft departs on average every 15 minutes on this route and at most times of the day there are over a dozen aircraft in the air on this 160-mile route. This month's challenge is to see how well you can fly from Kuala Lumpur (WMKK) to Singapore (WSSS) with either the Canadian Xpress® Airbus A319-111, Airbus A320-200, Boeing 737-900 or Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner which are available to all pilots regardless of rank but only for the challenge. 22. This month we visit one of the busiest airport in the world, John F. Kennedy International Airport and is often referred to as Kennedy Int'l or JFK. Kennedy Int'l is the primary international airport serving New York City. It is the busiest international air passenger gateway into North America. Opened as New York International Airport in 1948, it was commonly known as Idlewild Airport before being renamed in 1963 in memory of John F. Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States, following his assassination. Pilots can expect a lot of traffic as Kennedy Int'l will be part of the Let's Go Clubin Crossfire event held by ZNY & SAN JUAN CERAP.
