  1. I have the PMDG 777 and with that aircraft I have FS2Crew Captain's Set. I now have purchased the PMDG 737 NGX for the FSX deluxe edition (and FSX Acceleration ). and I see that to have FS2Crew for this aircraft I should purchase the relatively new FS2Crew NGX Reboot which I believe is at version 2.0 As I will be installing both these products is there any procedure regarding installation I should know about e.g. install NGX 737 first then FS2Crew. I noticed in the review of this product, the reviewer reversed this, as he already had an old version of FS2Crew (Legacy version?) So I presume it would be correct with fresh installs to have aircraft first then FS2Crew. Finally As I have the Captain's version of FS2Crew for the PMDG 777,would I really require the Captain's version again to obtain the RAAS extra option or is there a way for the 737 flights to access this program. Jack Allan
  2. Thanks for your speedy answer Mark. It confirms what I discovered when I returned to FSX after many hours of frustration. As you explained, I too suddenly realised I am in windowed mode and I thought surely it can't be as easy as dragging the screen to fill the 3 screens. As I dragged the screen towards the right hand 3rd screen it looked really deformed and stretched then when when I dragged it to the left 1st screen it still looked really weird however when I dragged all three screens vertically suddenly my windowed surround was back and looked ok. and my Plan G was working fine in he 4th screen. I hope we have helped others with this problem although I suspect some flightsim enthusiasts would still prefer a full screen experience. They may have to go to a networked multiscreen solution or there may be a way we have not thought of Thanks again Jack Allan
  3. I wonder if someone could help me with this problem I have a triple monitor setup with 3 - 23inch screens set to surround via my nvidia control; panel for GTX 960, I use a 4th - 17 inch monitor as an 'accessory' monitor which runs Plan G3. Now I have no real problem with the 3 monitors set to surround - Bezel correction etc is all ok . the 4th accessory monitor looks ok I have managed to run the system several times successfully ie the triple monitor display giving an excellent view of the 737 flight deck (enhanced by ezdoc) and the Plan G map portraying my flight so far.etc. It seems to work best when I sometimes manage to maintain the windows 7 status bar on the bottom of the screen and don't put the accessory monitor to full screen. Other times when I power up although the Windows splash screen is in surround, FSX is in one window only - In this state both FSX and plan G work ok but no surround in FSX When I select full screen in FSX it changes ok however full screen does mean I lose the windows status bar and my 4th screen freezes completely. If it had never worked I would put it down to 'not possible' but the fact that it works sometimes must mean I have set something up wrong -- any ideas Jack Allan
  4. Thanks for the speedy reply Dan, although I had to read it through several times to fully understand it. I do not have a problem with saving and loading as such just the understanding of what and where everything is. My main aim was to delete lots of saved flights from all their respective directories and therefore clean up and re-organise my saved flights in a more meaningful way. However, can I try to summarise my understanding so far. Correct me if I'm wrong To save a flight at any point and resume that flight at a later time or date with all aspects of the flight restored. I save through FSX flight save. To save/load an aircraft condition or configuration at any point into the Panelstates directory (excluding route data) irrespective of location. I use the PMDG panelstate save/load option To save the route only. This is via the route save option in the fmc and this is saved in Flightplans/777 (or other aircraft) and this can retrieved at another time as a Company route. To load a Company Route you must know the filename Request a route, offers a selection of routes or is filtered by Origin /Destination if filled in. Have I got it right?
  5. Searched through various forums for the answer to this but getting bogged down with side tracking answers. With the PMDG 777 intelligent autocruise function I would like to try out more long distance flights, this seems better and safer now (instead of the past default of changing the simulation rate). It made me however look into the saving options and files within FSX and PMDG. It was here that I became confused. It is all the file (types/ suffixes) which are added to your chosen file name. They go on and on -- flt fmc sav wx rt rt2 pln and even (fsx root path).exe files. On top of that, they seem to get saved twice, once in the PanelState and in the case of PMDG and in the (User) documents FSX folder. I presume sav is a saved flight at the point you stop FSX and fmc could be the FMC only save. pln could be a full saved flight plan or is that a route rte or rt2 (what's the difference?) Then there's wx? weather for Active Sky Next? maybe? Is it of use to those without ASN? Saving and loading from within the CDU sends the file to the PanelState folder ie same as FSX save flight option Can you help explain the functions of these different saved files? and where the default locations should be?
