I'm having DS build me a computer with FSX deluxe loaded with all the updates. I was thinking of the best add on's to add for a more realistic flying experience. I'm looking at Active Sky X, Flight Environment X, Ultimate Terrain USA and My Traffic X. I have a couple of questions....1. Does Active Sky X interfere with Flight Environment X?2. Can you use real time weather download with both of the above?Any help will be appreciated.RegardsLamar

Yes.... DS has great forums. That was the best advice steering me to DS. My computer should arrive in a couple of weeks. I may need to get more advice from you when I set it up! Like you, I recommend Boaz to get back in with a good box and have fun....RegardsLamar

I agree with harleyman, just ordered a computer from DS. Got everything he mentioned but the q6600. The sales person said they don't use them anymore so I settled for the q 9450 o/c'ed to 3.4 They are good people to deal with. RegardsLamar

Thanks Nick for the info on FSWC. Nick, what is GEX and can you use it with Ultimate Terrain USA? I will load FSX for the first time on my new computer and I would like to fly as realistic as I can. Doyou know about FEX and what it is about?BestLamar

I feel the same way...... I've been simming with FS9 ever since it came out and having a blast! I like to load and play with only minor tweaks. I'm not a geek wiz and I just don't have the knowledge to do all that. Thank goodness for all those guys that do have the knowledge. I did buy FSX over a year ago and it is still in the box. I am upgrading to a new computer however, after reading all these forums FSX is sure not a plug and play sim. Hope MS gets it right with FS11!! BestLamar

I'm convinced that all computer hardware is made to last so long and then when it breaks we spend more $$$$ Thats what it is all about! Nothing is easy, look at this forum. FSX should be load and play like other games but it is not!!!! Have to have a high $ killer machine and be a computer wiz to make all these tweaks work, for some people it takes the fun out of it and for others they like tweaking, changing codes, adding &^%^&**($%#@?? Oh well, its our hobby and I love it!Best,Lamar

Hey thanks, I'll be safe and protect both drives. I here that nod 32 is a good virus protection software that does not have much if any impact on your system. Did you have digital storm install your 280x while being built? I don't guess you need Nhancer with the 280x? They are building me a system with a 280x in one an d my FSX system will have the 8800 gt 512 mb. I told them to install 64 bit version in both systems..... Ouch, there goes my play money for a long time!!!!!!!

Hi,I will soon be getting a new system and most all the posts that I read FSX does better with 64 bit version. I will have 4 GB of ram at 800 mhz dual boot system Q 9450 O/C'ed 8800 GT. 790i MB. I will be flying FSX most of the time however, I do play other games from time to time and I was wondering if 64 bit would be compatible with other games? My 5 yr old system that I am using for FS9 and other games now is an Alienware: xp pro, Intel P4 3.20 ghz, 2gb memory, Radeon 850 x,(up grade from 9800PRO)Intel MB BZ87510A, 320.1 gb raid 0 volume HD, I've had FSX well over a year still in the box not opened, waited patiently for new system that would run it. Also on dual boot systems I guess since I'll need double virus protection with 2 HD's. suggestions appreciated.Thanks Hychewright

Hey thanks harleyman. Yes, It is a Digital Storm computer. I've read a lot of your posts and I was glad to see that you were satisfied with yours! I've been a FS9 simmer and decided to go FSX. I knew that my old 6 year Alienware would not get the job done. Alienware has sold out to another company and service has dropped but their price's have not! I was impressed with Digital Storm. Hi,when I download my real time weather it seems to download the same weather nation wide for the last three days. I did empty my temp internet files as a troubleshoot method but no help. I've never has this problem before. Another troubleshoot method said my ISP could be caching or storing a copy of the real time weather files on their servers. Said if this is happening I would be loading the same file each day? However, four days ago everything was fine. Any ideas? ThanksLamar

I'm new to the forum. I have FS9 and all of a sudden my real time weather that downloads from the internet (changes every 15 min.) says that there was a problem with the download and to check my internet connections? I stay hooked up to the internet all time. Any idea? Does the weather download site go down some times? Thanks
