  1. I currently have the FSX version of Level-d 767 working in a Steam only with Win 8.1 Pro 64 bit very well. Do you think that the button version of FS2Crew 767 would work as well? Don Brashears [email protected]
  2. To all that may be bashing Windows 8, I thought I would report my findings. I am running FS9 on a Win 8 64 bit system. AMD FX2 processor, Radeon 4800, Gigabit mainboard with 4 gb ram. I did run into the GDI not showing the aircraft previews, but I found that was only in full screen. If you go to a windowed mode, all is well. Works like a charm. I have for extras the PMDG 747, PSS 777 and 757, Level--d 767, and the WIlco airbus series 1 and 2 with the evolution upgrades. All is working fine. Including the PSS and wilco radar. So far all my payware scenery is working fine. I have also installed FSBuild and HiFi's ActiveSky Evolution and Active Sky Graphics. Pretty much the same system I have working under Win XP. The only thing really different thus far is the Aircraft Preview not showing properly in full screen mode. But using FS9 in windowed mode for the aircraft selection, then going to full screen once all is loaded, is not a big deal. Definetly workable. I can say without a doubt FS9 is working much better in a 64bit system. Very fluid, even in the heaviest of scenery. Thought everyone might like this update. I would caution everyone to read up on adminitrator rights and how to change things in Win 8. In most cases all has to be installed as an admin and FS9 run the same way. By the way my FSbuild is working perfectly and pulling wind info from ASE. I have other scenery and aircraft to install as well, but I do not see a problem with it. Will update this post as things progress. Don Brashears
  3. Got it figured out. I had installed the 32bit version of Win 8. I reinstalled the 64 bit version and all is well. Graphics are killer. This is going to be fun.
  4. I asked because mine is blowing up going to the game. The menu works but going to say Intsant Combat it starts the install and dies on me. Any ideas?
  5. Any chance that DCS WORLD WILL RUN UNDER WINDOWS 8?
  6. Hi Guys: I have an upgraded Win8 pro 32bit system and have successfully installed FS2004 with the 9.1 update. It works thus far. Only issue is the black screen for the 3d model on A/C selection. Not sure why at the moment. I did install it to another drive and folder (D:\FS2004) rather than MS's preference. Next issue will be to install software for Saitek X-52 joystick and Pedals. Also FSBuild, FSUIPC, ASE, and the more complicated aircraft from PMDG, Level-d, and Wilco. As well as scenery up the wazu. Hope it works. I will post the results as they occur in hopes of a successful upgrade. Don Brashears
  7. Thanks for the info Bryan..I got the PMDG B747 VC version installed along with the SAPI 5.1 from MS. Will do the voice train a little later and then take the Queen out for a little spin later. Will let you know how it goes. I suspect a lot of voice training will be required with my southern accent as it is. Don Brashears
  8. I know this is a stupid question but here goes. I currently have the PMDG B747 Button control version. Do you have to uninstall that version first before installing the Voice Control version? I am running Win XP and FS9. I hope the voice control version works well because I want it for the PMDG B747F as well. I know the button control will not support the freighter. Don Brashears
  9. Thanks DJ..rebuilt the FSUIPC.ini file and all is well. Even got the ASG graphics from AS6.5 working. I live 45 miles north of Denver and the weather shown on takeoff from KDEN was spot on. Don Brashears
  10. Hope someone has the answer for this one. I have installed and setup ASE. I use FS9 with a registered FSUIPC. For some reason ASE does not seem to connect to FS9 as the weather does not change from the default that loads with FS9. Anyone have any ideas? Don Brashears
  11. Hi Guys: Question..will ASE work with AS6.5 graphics in FS9 in a weather influenced setup? I ask this as I would rather not buy a texture set unless I absolutely have to. Don Brashears
  12. Hi Guys: Seems there is more going on than just the HiFi servers going down. The store front for purchases are down as well. Not good when you advertise a sale. Don Brashears
  13. Sorry about this but problem solved by re-installing service pack 2 followed by the evolution upgrade. This seems to have cured the issue.Don Brashears
  14. PS: This is only happening in Vol 2.
  15. Hi Guys: When I installed the upgrade for evolution and the FS2crew Upgrade, something did not go right. On the first use, The Departure Brief Panel comes up totally black and no way to use it. Any Ideas?Don Brashears
  16. Hi Guys: I am sure you know the link to the FS9 B747 paintkit is bad. Would anyone happen to know of a good link to it, or possibly send it by PM or email? I would appreciate it.Don [email protected]
  17. Hi Bryan: I think I may have the fix. I re-installed the gaugesound.dll from the Level-d FS2crew Start Center. I then tried FS2crew with the new updates from Eric. No CTD and so far so good. I have a flight from KLGA to KDEN going as we speek. I am about half way through the flight and all is working very well. My last major concern is the cat III autoland through the shutdown sequence in Denver.PS.. The CAT III autoland in Denver went very well (VS at TD was -71, as close to perfect as I have seen). All seems to be working without issue. Hope this helps someone That may have ran into the same thing. I now really love the airbus. Don Brashears
  18. Hi Bryan: After the upgrade from Eric Marciano, Wilco Airbus Vol 1 would not load before a CTD. I had forgot to change the panels back to Wilco's original from FS2Crew. After I made the change and re-installed Eric's upgrade, all worked perfectly. If you had to make plan changes in mid flight, TOC, TOD and deceleration changed accordingly as they should. An ability to perform holds at any way point was put in, and it works like a charm. The way the MCDU interprets transitions changed etc. Here is a link to Eric's page that would explain things a lot better than I can, http://emarciano.free.fr/Cockpit/MCDUDoc/D...on.html#upgrade (His email is [email protected]). I can tell you that a lot more than the panel files were changed. the Aircraft.cfg's were as well. This upgrade should have been given by Wilco. I suspect they called the last one good and cut Eric free. This is a way to make perfect the product you designed and get paid for it as well. The cost is 30 Euros. As I said in my previous note, well worth the price in my opinion. I do understand that he is going to upgrade Vol 2 as well (Free to those who purchased Vol 1's upgrade). I would love it if there was a way to get FS2Crew to work with it. I would be happy to help in any way I can.Don Brashears
  19. Hi Guys: I also purchased Eric's upgrade and find it is well worth it as far as the way the airbus should fly. The MCDU upgrades alone are worth it. However, it does not want to play well with the FS9 FS2Crew Airbus SE. Anyone have any thoughts on how to get that to work as well?Don Brashears
  20. Yes it does Wilco's usual and overwrites the aircraft and panel files.Don Brashears
  21. Wilco just release and update to Vol1 and 2. From what I have read it is pretty significant in that the hydraulics were not operating properly on the panel etc etc etc. Just wanted to find out if it is going to require an update for FS2Crew?Don Brashears
  22. Hi Guys: Anyone know if Sven has made any progress on the FS2crew panel for the Level-D 767? I know they released the FSX version, however the changes do not work with the FS9 version (I know as I tried it). Would be nice to have. The last thing I heard was he was having some lighting issues. Hope progress has been made.Don Brashears
  23. Hi BryanThanks for the quick reply. The change worked. I really love the FS2Crew products and the support you give us.Don Brashears
  24. Hi Guys: problem I have is the upper left button of the A330-300GE's MCDU brings up the FMA Callout box and does not allow changes to the Flight plan. Not sure why at this point. I am using the Special Edition with the update. Also I did go through the necessary changes after the update was installed. So far that is the only aircraft of Vol 2 displaying that behavior. The A340-600 works very well. The A330-300RR works also. Any help would be appreciated.Don [email protected]

I am having the same problem. I have been able to trace the website and can get to it using the ip address. However the Domain name is not being resolved with the ip. Any suggestions? I suspect there has been a change on PMDG's Domain server and for some reason the IP address is not being connected to precisionmanuals.com.Don Brashears
