I can't figure out how to search the new library....
Ah, Just found the Advanced Search Function. Yes, that indeed will be most satisfactory once the kinks are ironed out. Would still like to see the files included in a particular download in advance of the actual download though. I am warming to it slowly. Graham

I can't figure out how to search the new library....
On further analysis, it would seem the search function is only accepting one word. For instance a search for Air France will bring up 'No results found for air france' while a search for France or air separately will bring up scores of files for each. It does appear though that the ability to refine the search to a particular section or sub-section of the library is gone. I can also not see anywhere for me to view the included files in a particular download and this was a great feature of the old library. Apologies if these features are there already and I just haven't found them or they are ready to be rolled out, but my first impressions are of great disappointment. Graham

Ditto to the above. I've just spent the last little while trying a few searches and have found none of what I was after. The file library search function was a key feature of the old library and it would be a great pity if that is now lost. Cheers, Graham

Have you ever heard of this plane?
This is great news Anthony. All my flying lessons were in a Tecnam and I have been keeping an eye out for a good FSX version ever since. Here is the one I had my first lesson in.Basair, based at Bankstown here in Sydney, have a fleet of about 8 or 9 of them. It would be great if one was included as a base livery.

XPS on Dell XPS720
ggeccles replied to ggeccles's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcI think I may have found the problem. Ground Scenery Shadows. On the Tokyo mission with Ground Scenery Shadows on I get the low single figure FPS, but without, frames improve to high teens and low twenties.I get Similar improvements in other heavy areas. Still monitoring the situation with 'Lock Ups' but have not had one for the past couple of days.

XPS on Dell XPS720
ggeccles replied to ggeccles's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcThe BIOS was version A03 but has now been upgraded to version A04. Thank you for putting me on to that change.Unfortunately, no noticable increase in performance. Time will tell if it helps with the 'lock ups'.

XPS on Dell XPS720
I have a new Dell XPS 720 computer, QX6850 Core 2 Extreme processor, 4GB DDR2 800MHz SDRAM, 2 x 500GB SATA Drives, NVIDIA 8800 Ultra graphics. I am running FSX, SP2 on Windows XP, SP2 and defrag and run clean ups regularly. I am getting good quality graphics using Nvidia driver 169.21 with nHancer and settings in accordance with advise on this forumWhy then can I only get single figure FPS around Sydney Airport with moderate settings, high but not maxed out. I am not using Bloom and I have vehicle and boat traffic set at 15%. When running the FSX Mission

AI Sounds problem
The AI Sounds in FSX work fine for the most part however I find the reverse thrust sounds do not start until the aircraft is almost at a stop.Does anyone know if this is adjustable and if so, how?

Question for the technically minded
I have been running FSHotSFX in FS9 on my XP based computer now for a couple of years without problem. Recently I upgraded my computer and am now using Windows Vista. So far, I have managed to get most of my FS9 and associated add-ons up and running with little or no problems however this is not so with FSHotSFX.When trying to run this program, I get the error message

Multiple AI Landings
Is there any way FS2004 can be configured to handle group landings of AI planes? i.e. a squadron of F/A-18's.At present the MSFS system requires landed planes to clear the runway before the next aircraft can land and that is fine for civilian airports, however military aircraft (particularly fighter planes) are generally not restricted in this way.The ideal would be for such planes to land with a limited spacing of say a few hundred yards or metres from each other. This would result in a line of planes landing on the strip as in real life. Can this be done?

FSPainter B747v3
Does anyone know the story with the Boeing 747-400(GE) version 3 that FS Painter released back in September 2005?The model was released and a few repaints followed over the next few months but since then - nothing! It's a pity because the model was quite good and at least, if not better than the Aardvark equivalent. I'm surprised none of the talented painters out there have added new repaints.I would be interested to know if anyone has any information on this mystery.
