  1. awesome to see the content that beta testers are posting. one thing I noticed while watching some of the videos - with full flaps extended, and approaching for arrival, I would have thought that there would been movement visible in the flaps due to buffeting that typically happens in this situation. perhaps it is already being modeled, and I just haven't seen severe enough weather to cause it to be seen? regards, peter belbin
  2. well, and here I was thinking this was some sort of condition they got in if you flew for too long without an oil change or some other form of 'maintenance'.
  3. thank you for replying.>If you are talking about weather on VATSIM you can use several>programs not related to PMDG to get real, accurate weather on>the network.>such as? can you suggest some...?
  4. ok, so I've been saving my last position and resuming from that saved situation a number of times, and I see that my engines are all belching black smoke.am I doing (or not doing) something that's causing this?if I start the sim out with a fresh start (as opposed to loading a previously saved flight), I don't see this.do tell.
  5. the TFC button works great when I'm connected to VATSIM. very cool, very useful.how about the weather?or, is there something that already works, and I just haven't figured it out yet?
  6. first off, my name is Peter Belbin.Ok, if you've read my other post about FSX+Accel and theinability to fuel the aircraft.....since I have not heard anything as yet about that from thisforum, I thought I'd try the nasty uninstall/reinstall.well, I bought both the 747-400X and the FS2Crew add-on, and, installed the 1.01 update.so, now, I've managed to uninstall everything except theinitial FS2Crew.it appears that having added the 1.01 update to FS2Crew hasmessed up the uninstall of the 1.0 part.here are a series of images that show what I'm experiencing:1. this is how it looks before I ask to uninstall:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/185748.jpg2. yep, that's what I want to do, but, notice the 1.01 versionnumber? that update has already been uninstalled. thisshould be uninstalling 1.0...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/185749.jpg3. ok, now it's complaining...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/185750.jpg4. and again....http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/185751.jpg5. success (or that's what I'm lead to believe)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/185753.jpg6. until I look at the list of apps, and IT'S STILL THERE!!!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/185752.jpgthe process can be repeated as many times as you like - itmakes not difference.

  8. yes, indeed, it *is* an NVIDIA card.....so this is a 'known problem'?regards, peter belbin
  9. well, after turning off dx10 preview, I now see the tail is illuminated.interesting.what next?it is supposed to work with dx10 isn't it?regards, peter belbin
  10. are you connected in some way with this tool other than being a happy user?andare you saying it works well from experience with just adjusting the default size/location?it seems that this tool is somewhat more focussed on manipulating guages into new variants...please advise.regards, peter
  11. hey, for helping to track down issues, do the pmdg aircraft (747X in particular) have the simulated equivalent of the flight data recorder found on the 'real thing'?if not, why not? surely the value of the real one would be just as useful in the simulated case - being able to understand what is happening after the fact.if the sim has such a thing, I should think that this would be very useful for giving the developers the ability to look into how a particular issue cropped up.please advise.regards, peter belbin.
  12. I may be able to do that next time this issue surfaces.regards,peter.
  13. hello guys, I appreciate the feedback this thread is getting.for what it's worth:a) I'm using Vista x64 with the DX10 preview enabled.:( I see that the little lights in the tail are in fact coming on when they are supposed to.so, to clarify:even though the lights themselves are 'on', the light that is being cast has absolutely no effect on the lighting level on the stabilizer itself, along with any artwork that may be there.please advise.regards,Peter Belbin.
  14. Rob,I certainly do appreciate your willingness to help a fellow flier, and I did not gather from your post that you were not a PMDG staffer.Sorry about that.it's rather an easy leap to make given the way the avsim forum titles are set up 'commercial support' gives the impression that you're really talking with people that are pmdg staffers.also, since you were using a very corporate PMDG looking tag, it's not too surprising.again, thank's for your help, but I'm still wondering what it was that caused the inner valves to stay closed.regards,Peter Belbin.
  15. ok, 'should' is one thing, but, what I'm talking about is where, after having landed at egll, shut down the engines, refueled, restarted the engines, takeoff and then flaps up, I still ended up with the inner x-feed valves set the wrong way.now, until I figured out how to raise the protective covers on the inner buttons, I didn't have the ability to change these inner valve settings.so, tell me, what happened?what series of events could have caused the valves to be set the wrong way?and please don't tell me 'it shouldn't have happened', because it did.you guys have the code for this aircraft, and should be able to understand the various scenarios that might happen that could lead to the inner x-feed valves ending up being set the wrong way.please advise in a helpful manner.
