Oh boy! Can I relate to you James! I laughed and laughed not at you but because I can relate to everything you said. I wouldn't have changed it! I too have given up on FSX. I think I have flown 3% and mucked about for 97%. I dream of the day PMDG change their mind and I am rolling down 36L prepar3d for take off! Paul

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to read my post. I have just purchased the following: CORSAIR Dominator Platinum 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMD16GX3M2A1600C9 Intel Core i7-4770 Haswell 3.4GHz LGA 1150 84W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics BX80646I74770 Motherboard Asus Z87-A Intel® Socket 1150 for 4th Generation Core™ i7/Core™ Asus Geforce GTX 780 3GBI am going to buy 3 SSD Samsung drives (hopefully 500GB ones) at the weekend. I intend to put Windows 7 Ulyimate 64 on one drive and leave it alone (never installing anything on it, just using it for the operating system) FSX on another drive Addon scenery on the third drive. Addon programs: REX essential (not sure where to put this) GTX programs on a network PC Will it benefit me to have the scenery on the third SSD drive? Any other suggestions I will appreciate. I scared sh....less about overclocking my processor. Is it easy to do? Am I in danger of screwing it up? Where do I begin? Thank you. Paul

Hello,Please forgive my ignorance but I am totally confused about Microsoft Flight. I must confess this mainly my ignorance but also due to confusion posts I have read.Is Flight a totally new sim or is it just a free download that is not for the "serious" simmers?Is it the case that you can only fly within a certain area and not worldwide?If it is a completely new sim , will you be able to run all the exisiting add-ons like PMDG?Thank youPaul

Hi Loyd,What a nice response and thank you for your time! I will be honest with you. I am not IT literate. I thought I might be going a little over my head when I used the word (flush)! Hello,Can someone please help me? I have a very powerful PC with a fiber optic connection (currently capped at 20MBs). This is what usually happens...I start a flight with TP everything is fine frame rates are on average 70fps with all sliders maxed , REX running, PMDG 747 on the runway ready to go.I take off and 10-15 minutes into a flight the clouds start appearing like squares with the MS flight simulator X logo on them. I then start to loose my textures (see attached image)sometimes they revert back and everything is OK for a while then usually REX updates and it freezes, end of game. The last image shows FSX working fine. I have tried both DirectX10 and 9I have the latest updates for all my Windows7 64bit applications and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 with the latest drivers installed: GeForce/ION Driver v266.58Version: 266.58 WHQL Release Date: 18.1.2011 (beta I believe. I also use Nvidia inspector but not sure why or what it does (see screen shot for settings.Any help please?One last word it seems to be only when I run TP.ThanksPaul

You could also try Xpax from HiFi Simulations. I use it and it is real people (well a video of them on-board)! Just do a search for HiFi Simultations.paul

120fps all sliders at max. Is this normal?

Not complaining folks but is this normal or is it damaging my card? (see pictures) All sliders, including AI traffic are at max, bloom is on, Directx 10?Regards,Paul

Hello Lyod,I'll try and make this the last post for a while! I am nearly there and thank you for your time. My issue is best explained by the pictures I a have attached. I am seeking to gain a smooth look to my textures but at the moment I have this horrible shimmering look to them. I have a very powerful system and I am sure I can get a better look than the one I am currently getting. Also, is there anything i can do to make the image clearer when flying lower, instead of the blur I get? Hello fellow simmers,I would like to know how I can use the marvelous NL2000 Netherlands scenery with Tileproxy. Specifically, I would like to fly into the Netherlands from say, the USA and use tileproxy to start and when I land be using the Photoreal NL2000.Thank you.Paul

Tileproxy Asking to delete photoreal scenery files

OK guys resolved it! Marc is right about what he says above about the folders http://forum.avsim.net/topic/260061-tried-tileproxy-yesterday/ . Just follow his instructions above and you should be good to go. Also, make sure to copy the Tileproxy.ini into your root folder, I forgot and hence that is why the first time the above didn't work for me.Thank you to Loyd for his time and patience and to all those others who replied.Paul
