  1. Odd that, I've hosted on Filedropper.

  3. Hello All, I made an Airbus Calculator many months ago, based on EU OPS and fuel burn rates. So what I did was make an updated version based on the Boeing 777 - it works pretty well and I've tested it 4 times now and I always land with the correct amount recommended by airline SOPS. Give it a try and let me know what you think. Purely enter and change the following. Under Minutes - APU fuel is generally 12-15 minutes Taxi in Europe i.e EGLL is 20 minutes, but places like VRMM it's 7-12 minutes. Trip is your overall flight, you don't need wind calculations for this but your en-route time is based upon how long it takes you including any tail/headwind. For example today's flight that I am doing is 10 hours 4 minutes including any headwinds. DONT TOUCH CONT 5% (EASA OPS) Alternate is based on how long it takes you to get from the holding fix of your destination to your divert/alternate. Final Reserves DO NOT TOUCH, this is set based on EU OPS. Additional - if you are expected to hold due bad weather etc or in the case of VATSIM an event with loads of traffic adjust this in minutes. The rest is self explanatory. Let me know what you think? Download from my website here!
  4. I never knew there was one, but I've downloaded it. That'll be better than the Fictional PMDG one cheers!!

  6. Can someone please do a British Airways G-VII* Registration please? Maybe G-VIIY being the latest BA 772 GE90... EDIT: COPYRIGHT VIOLATION.
  7. Hello, I am still undecided, but the idea of building my own and from a few website that I've read on the internet. To get the most performance from FSX. I was pretty keen on buying a PC all in one go, but I seriously don't want to spend all my hard earned money all in one go, so over a period of few months I can probably build something a lot better than the one I found on ebay and could go into the amount I want to spend. So from a little research and using this website I have found the following products, which should work pretty well together. http://jetlinesystems.com/performance.php Using a combination of overclockers UK and ebuyer.co.uk I have managed to make an inventory for around about £1339.96 at current prices and including some of the aforementioned parts. Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium w/SP1 - Licence and media - 1 PC - OEM - DVD - 64-bit (This is obviously needed due to the 8GB RAM) OCZ ZX Series 850W 80+ GOLD PSU Fully Modular PSU ( I decided on a more powerful PSU because of the 580 GTX, and the possibility that I can overclock the 2700k) Asus P8Z68-V/GEN3 Socket 1155 DVI VGA HDMI 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard (This recommended motherboard is fairly cheap and goes well with the i7 2700k according to ebuyer) Intel Core i7 2700K 3.50GHz Socket 1155 8MB L3 Cache Retail Boxed Processor (I have a very good look around and apparently it's one of the best CPU's around, and it's got quite modern architecture being one of the fairly recent ones, and It can be highly overclocked at a lower voltage) VELOCIRAPTOR 500GB 3.5IN - 10K RPM SATA 6 GB/S 64MB CACHE IN (I have seen that the velociraptors whilst very expensive, are very good for installing FSX etc on) Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600Mhz CAS8 1.5V Non-ECC Unbuffered (I choose this ram because it has a fairly good CAS) Antec 902 Nine Hundred Two V3 Gaming Case ( I will likely buy this straight away, (It's got very good reviews and comes with an advanced cooling system with 1 rear 120mm led blue exaust fan, a top 200mm TriCool blue led exaust fan. 2 front 120mm blue led fans and for £93 it's not a bad bargain, and also comes with a space for a side 120 x 25mm fan mount.) 2 x StarTech.com SATA Serial ATA Cable 0.3m Red (These I guess are for the HDD/SDDs) OCZ 240GB Agility 3 2.5" SATA-III SSD - Read 525MB/s Write 500MB/s 80,000 IOPS (Still undecided what SDD to go for, but this one has just come out and looks the dogs B*****cks!) PNY Geforce GTX 580 1536MB GDDR5 DVI HDMI PCI-E Graphics Card (Found this quite cheaply on overclockers more so than ebuyer, so definately one to get as it's a very good GPU) BeQuite Dark Rock Advanced CPU Cooler (This was recommended above, so I will take that one so long as it fits in the case) One question I have is, is there anything I am missing?? I don't have enough to buy this all in one go... but over the rest of May I can probably purchase the case, motherboard and CPU as well as the power supply. With June/July purchasing the rest, and with the Olympics coming up I should have a little bit more money as I wont be going flying in such restricted airspace real world. Will be an interesting time, but what do you think??
  8. Hello polk2, http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/freshtech_uk/?_trksid=p4340.l2559 They seem pretty decent, and my friend brought a PC with them and my build would have cost circa -£1200-£1700 if I didn't choose these guys, which I am most likely going to. Just hopefully someone can help me decide which case/fan setup lol
  9. Hello Guys, I sort of went off the idea of upgrading as I had a very busy period of coursework and now I have the time to re-look into it. The PC I currently have is probably 4 years old(since I purchased it) but the technology is probably from 2007/early 2008. It's had many fantastic hours of use, I've successfully managed to run FS2004 and a heavily tweaked version of FSX dooable for the last year, but it's getting on now and clearly I need to get an upgraded computer. Windows Vista, Nvidia 9600GT, 2.4GHZ Quad Core Q6600, 4GB DDR3 RAM and two 500GB HDDs. My FSX It ran FS2004 pretty neatly, and ran FSX to a standard that it was playable to an extent with okish frames and low max settings, and that was after many days of tweaking. But it's beginning to come at the end of it's life cycle, which is not bad considering the battering I had gave it in my teen years and besides I want to go on step further and I was going to fork out almost £1500 over a period of a year or so for a new build computer, I have spoke to many people and looked at the parts they have used and the sort of performance they get. I have just looked at building the PC, and a company on ebay that build the same ###### thing for less of the price and someone I know has already used them and brought the exact specifications that I wanted to go for. I don't just play FSX, but I also use it for Video creation - visit my page at http://youtube.com/robbiegarrett for some of my videos. And recently I have used Photoshop, so all stuff that requires a lot of processing. I have just had a look into there specifications and they don't seem to a 2500k for a decent price or with decent specifications, but that's not a problem if I have the money to spend on a better processor. Intel I7 2700K 3.5Ghz, 1tb HDD, 8Gb DDR3 1333 PC10660 RAM, Nvidia GTX 560 Ti 1Gb , Asus P8Z77-V LX Motherboard. 750W PSU Option 1 - with just two fans, but a really nice case. Or Option 2 - with two extra fans, one at the front and one more extra at the side. So what do I spend my money on?? what is more worth it, there's only £11 difference (but this could be spent on the USB data transfer cable/Windows 7) Both do not come with Windows 7 64 BIT, so that's another thing to add to the cost. Does anyone know a good well know retailer that will sell one for as cheap as?? on ebay/amazon or in London?? These are the result of the 2600k performance.... I would also like to know where I can get a computer USB-USB data transfer, so I can easily transfer my stuff over to the new PC without having to spend lots of money in as little time as possible. Kind Regards, Robbie
  10. Hello All,Having completed my Private Pilots License, I am looking for some help in building a new rig, and what parts I need to get so that I can have a fantastic experience. I currently run FSX with a Q6600, 9600GT, 2 X 500GB HDDs, 4GB RAM, Windows Vista Home Premium, 20FPS in worse case scenario, but runs up to 30-40fps+ on occasions. FS9 runs ok, but I seem to get better FSX performance in most cases.I am looking to run FSX at max settings, good eye candy (for once), FS Labs Concorde, FS Labs A32X (When it's released) and currently the Wilco Airbus at least 24-40fps+ - that's all I really fly and probably some PMDG products when I am bored. Along with running Squawkbox and Active Sky Extreme. Scenery add-ons are UK2000, Aerosoft etc, as now I only have time to fly European flights.I'd also like to Run Sony Vegas 10, Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe Photoshop. Along with Microsoft Office Student 2010, along with Euroscope for VATSIM.It's going to take me at least 3-4 months to pay out for, and thankfully Christmas/Birthday fall in this period which should help.My monthly income from Part-Time work and EMA from College is currently £30 + 80-96£ a week (£120 per week)I've came up with a list from asking people on twitter, and using a friends computer order inventory to up the anti.I don't want my HDD to be cluttered with anything else, so I want to be able to have FSX capable HDD, along with an external 1TB HDD to store everything from my previous computer and be able to use it on the new, such as photos/videos that I have created.Any suggestions of what HDD to get, and what I can do to run a decent Machine? What else is essential, I have a decent monitor/keyboard/mouse (optiquest 22inch monitor, logitech mouse/keyboard)Regards,Robbie
  11. We look forward to welcoming you to what should be a truly spectacular event, what is set tobe one of VATSIM's biggest event ever! After the success of last year’s event, one of the world's busiest airspaces will come alive again forwhat is set to be one VATSIM's biggest events ever. Openskies 2011 aims to bring you a better, busier and more enjoyable event than has ever been witnessed on VATSIM before.Six of our premier airports; Bristol, Gatwick, Glasgow, Heathrow, Manchester and Stansted havebeen selected, and will be fully staffed to provide you with a huge range and variety of over1100 bookable flights in the space of five hours. 12. Hey,I recently got a new PC and everything runs smooth locked at 32FPS for system stability and life. However coming into London Heathrow (UK2000) I got bursts of lag, less than a few milliseconds worth every so often, now It does not take rocket scienctist to work out that its UTE.Is there any other way just to get nightlights similar to that without the lag, becuase its obviously just that scenery thats giving me the lag, becuase it does not happen elsewere, and I get 32FPS while the lag occurs :{Regards,Robbie
  13. Hello People,British Airways are shortly getting rid of there 757s and I was wondering If it was possible for someone to repaint there liveries for there current fleet.Well you don't have to paint them all different, they are all the same just need to change the last letter on the registrations. And thats all there is to it. G-CPELG-CPEMG-CPENG-CPEOG-CPERG-CPETI already have G-CPES.And also last but not least the Openskies plane 2 G-BPEJ! Most have the G-BPEK repaint, I was wondering if there could be a second.I can get some photos if you wish, from the net.Regards,R..
  14. Hello Guys,I am going to create a planed/idea airport called Cliffe Airport.Details:The airport functions are laid out on a 14 x 4 unit square 480m grid,The site accommodates 2No. 4.32km (9 x 480m) runways with a 1.62km infield (centreline tocentreline of main runways) and the optional addition of 2No. close-parallel 2.4km (5 x 480)runways 480m from the centrelines of the main runways, if required. The main runways provide four pairs of take-off and landing zones to reduce aircraft groundmovements. A long runway version with 5.76km (12 x 480) long main runways could providetake-off and landing zones either side of the centreline i.e. a minimum available runway length of 2880m (6 x 480) in each direction.5 Runway's in total as Planned.2 Short2 Longand 1 super Long and wide for Cargo and X-Wind Landing + night ops.6 Satellite's connected to one Main Building. It has one Cargo terminal and multiple Hangars for Hub Airlines like British Airways, Easy Jet, Virgin and BMI.I am using documents provided by the DFTS SERA, CAA and NATS to create the airport. With a bit of imagination i could include lots of other fancy stuff.Cliffe. An onshore site on the Hoo Peninsula in North Kent, included by DfT in the consultation on airport development in the South East. The proposal was for up to four runways arranged in two east-west close parallel pairs, with a possible fifth runway on a different alignment, which might be used only at night and in particular weather conditions. Most of the Airport i will Construct by myself and Learn about Designing scenery but some parts i may ask others to help like create simple buildings and modern Terminal and Hangars.Software i possibly needs for this venture. To Create the Taxiways, Runway and aprons. To extend the English Soil a bit onto the Thames Estuary for the East west and North westerly/South easterly Night Runway. To Remove and Add Trees for a Environmental Look.Software to create Hangars, Docks, and buildings + Terminals.Add Roads and Train Tracks.Any Ideas on what too use and any guides?Anyone have any ideas on software? My First stage will be too flatten and extend the land a little bit.As you see the Runway run over the edge of the current land created in Flight simulator. In flight simulator it's water in Real world it's marshes so i will need something to flatten out the land and then extend it as shown in the image above.Any Guides and free software to do that.I have an idea on what doing for this Airport but first i must create it and i have all summer to do this smile.gifRegards,Robbie
