  1. Hello. I was wondering if the retail version on the NGX will play nice with Project Magenta for us cockpit builders. Or even if a cockpit builder version might be considered. ThanksGianluca
  2. I would like to install MegaSceneryX Southern California on FSX and I would like to remove autogen completely from that area. I did it before and it worked beautifully. Unfortunately it was a while ago. In the meantime, I built a new computer running Windows 7 and I forgot how I did that. I would like to do the same with MegaSceneryX Phoenix and Las Vegas. If someone could reresh my memory on what steps I need to follow, that would be great. I want to disable all autogen only in those areas, not globally.Thanks.Gianluca
  3. I just read the review of this package and found it helpful. Thanks Alan. I would love if the developper of this addon would consider correcting that one plane that has cables attached to the DF loop antenna. I would also like to know if someone has repainted this plane to look like the plane that Amelia Earhart flew in 1937. I believe the edge of the wings were painted red and the plane itself was all bare metal. I really like that color scheme and was wondeing why it was not included. Regardless of what this package was intended to represent, you title something "Around The World..." and include an L-10 Electra, people are obviously going to associate this package with the ill-fated flight in 1937. That's just common sense.Anyway, I think I'm going to get the package anyway. I think I will enjoy flying the Electra. I just hope that someone with some skills will take the time to do an "Amelia" version. I wish I had the know-how myself. Unfortunately, I am lucky if I find the "on" button on my conputer, let alone messing around with paint programs...Gianluca
  4. Perhaps some of you may be familiar with the concept of making an ISO image of Windows OS for ease of re-installation. This is also referred to as Slipstreaming. I was wondering if someone had tried to slipstream the installation package of FSX into one ISO image. It would be great to copy all four discs, plus SP2 (or the whole Accelleration package) into one ISO image. Has anyone tried it and if so, what program have you used to create your ISO image? But maybe, this is not possible given the large volume of data contained on the installation discs. Anyway, any comments would be appreciated.Thanks. Gianluca
  5. Indeed! That explains it.
  6. Kurt, form your on-screen name I presume you are a Brasilia afficionado. I do love that plane too. I wonder why PMDG chose the J41 over the Embraer 120. I presume it's because they had full access to one (or several) and the technical information was readily available. Be that as it may, I can't wait to learn the intricacies - and quirks - of that aircraft.Gianluca
  7. Hi Al. I've never flown in a J41. I have traveled in the Brasilia on numerous occasions and can attest at how loud the cabin gets. I wonder if the J41 is as noisy. Looks-wise I am partial to the Basilia for some reason. Gianluca
  8. This discussion is only from an academic standpoint. Both the J41 and the Brasilia are very nice planes and I like them both. Although I am not at all familiar with the J41.I was wondering what are the differences between the J41 and the Embraer 120 Brasilia. Are they essentially very similar in mechanics, power plant, electronics, panel configuration, etc? Or do they differ in significant ways?I look forward to the J41. Although MY Christmas will be the day PMDG releases the Dash 8 (hopefully a Q400)! :-)Gianluca
  9. I have purchased the MD-11 from FlightSim Pilot Shop (have not received it yet). I look forward to starting training camp on that puppy! Once I have installed the software on my computer, how do I determine what version of the software I have? I guess I could download and install the update available on the PMDG site if I wasn't sure, but I thought I'd ask and see if there is a way of checking that. Many thanks.Gianluca
  10. "CS is now asking for input on their forum as to what is needed for an SDK for the 757, seems their support is improving daily"I have posted my wish list on Captian Sim's forum (http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1246759974)I hope I will not be the only one showing interest in an SDK or at least the possibility of key mapping.Go on and make your own wishes known! :-)Gianluca
  11. What is exasperating with Captain Sim is that even though their planes are stunning visually they always hide some weird nonconformities. The 757's auto throttle switch for example does not respond to the Shift-R keyboard command. Z does not disengage the auto pilot. Maybe they will come out with a "Extra-Pro" package later that will give hardware-using simmers the ability to assign keyboard strokes to discreet functions. How hard would it be to make every function keyboard assignable?Gianluca
  12. Interesting. Can you please explain why, please? I will be reinstalling FSX soon on a new machine and this is one tip I had not heard about. Thanks. Gianluca
  13. At the Paris Air Show Scott Carson, president and chief executive of Boeing's commercial aircraft division said this:"If you were expecting the 787 to fly during the air show you will be disappointed, If it had happened during the air show it would have been great, but It was never our intention." "The airplane will fly when it is completely ready." (emphasis added)I guess the "we'll release the plane when it's ready" phrase is not only a flight simulator developers' mantra! He, he.Gianluca
  14. I have installed the excellent Lockheed 049A Constellation form FSDZ in FSX. This model, of course was made for FS9. I was hoping that it would work in FSX. Technically, it does work. It flies beautiful and everything seems to work ok. Except for the propellers. Viewed from outside I see four solid disks instead of the rotating propeller blades. I have attached a screenshot to show you what it looks like. Any ideas if this is fixable? Thanks.Gianluca
  15. "And with FSX you can now asign a key press which will allow you to link your VC views so that they will all pan together when you look around."Wow, I didn't know that. Can you eleborate on this point (i.e. How would I go about doing that with several cards and sereral monitors instead of the Matrox TH2Go). You make some good points and gave me much to think about. Thanks.Gianluca
