Hi, I finally went to a Best Buy store near by. After looking at all the different size of screen, I decide that I was ok with a 40 to 50 inches screen. But not bigger then that. They didn't have any monitor in that range, so I focused on the 4K TV. After a hour of loading Ray's PMDG 737 4K images, I narrowed my choices to the following 4 devices, in that order: 1.Samsung 49" 4K UHD HDR QLED Tizen Smart TV (QN49Q80TAFXZC) - Titan Black 2.LG 49" 4K UHD HDR LED webOS Smart TV (49UN7300PUB) 3.Samsung 50" 4K UHD HDR LED Tizen Smart TV (UN50TU7000FXZC) - Titan Grey 4.Sony 49" 4K UHD HDR LED Android Smart TV (XBR49X800H) The first one is a bit more expensive but the brightness and sharpness of the image was incredible. So is any of one of those are a better choice? Thanks Ray for the image, it helped a lot. Pierre

Thanks It's funny but I feel that I should buy a monitor, instead of a TV. With the TV I am buying feature that I do not need, like surround sound, ethernet connection, receiver...etc. Will I not get more performance if I buy a monitor like a Philips Brilliance BDM4350UC 43" 4K UHD LED LCD Monitor - 16:9 - Black, Silver for example? Not much difference in price between the Sony and this. Just a thought. Pierre

Thank you both, This is very good info, I am getting closer to what I will go shopping for. One more question, is the HZ important? Does TV run at different HZ, like 30 HZ or this is only a monitor spec. I understand that running at 30 HZ instead of normal 60 HZ is better / smoother. I thing I am looking more for the immersion so I will look at a 49" or 55" inch. I need to take the measuring tape out first. 😀 Pierre

I just realized that with my current setup i have 4 monitors running at 1920x1080 HD. So according to your calculation my card is already pushing 8.29 megapixels per frame. So i should be ok by replacing all 4 sceens by 1 4K monitor or TV. Any special specs i should be looking for in a TV or monitor? Pierre

Hi Ted, Thanks for the reply, the current resolution that I use is 1920X1080X32 on all monitors, in P3D 4 and 5. You seem to think that even if I change my 3 monitors that I use for cockpit view with a 4K monitor or TV, I would still be able to keep the monitor that I use for Overhead panel, without affecting my FPS? That would mean that I have 2 monitor hook to my GTX1080 instead of 4. Interesting. What about those 39 each curved monitor, are they more demanding on the video card? Pierre

Hi, I currently have 3 Asus VE248Q 24" wide led monitor that I use for my cockpit view (wide screen) and I also have one VE278H 27" wide led monitor that I use to display the overhead panel. I have a Asus GTX1080 Ti for my video card. I would like to upgrade to 4K and my understanding after reading a lot of topic on this forum, is that I should go down to one monitor and drop the overhead view. My card will not support a 4K monitor and the VE278H 27" wide led with a acceptable FPS rate, I get with P3D v5 between 40-50, right now . My questions is, should I buy a good monitor like the BenQ PD3200U 32” UHD monitor, or I go for a TV del 48" or I go with a widescreen curved? Is a monitor better the a TV for the price? that would be my first question. Then is a flat screen better then a curved one? like a 32" monitor versus a 39" wide screen curved? My PC is only use flying, P3D and the new MS2020 Pierre Nantel

Hi, I am using two views when I fly, the cockpit view and a separate overhead panel view on a separate screen. I load the cockpit view at startup and then create an undock view for the overhead panel, so I can move it to a separate screen. I use chaseplane on the cockpit view 00 and it works great. I would like to also use the chaseplane preset on the overhead view 01. Is this possible? I have looked at many YouTube, but none of them use two views. They all describe the chaseplane functionalities using the main view 00. Thanks Pierre

Hi, I am using a Precision Flight Control Cirrus II console with a 2 jet quadrant, so I have the Thrust reversers configure on a separate axis. The reverser works find. But when I have the 777 ready to taxi (Engine running) sometime when I increase the power both engines goes into reverse mode, and if I retract my Throttles to idle, a strange thing happens. Both engine goes in reverse mode and the two little white arms over the throttles retract inwards. Also my spoiler gets deployed and my takeoff speed gets deleted in the FMC, So to get the engine out of reverse mode, I have to use the mouse and push the two white arms toward the flight deck. Is this normal? or I am doing something wrong. Thanks for the help Pierre

Hi, with the new version when I receive ATC messages the view in the sim changes to show the radio view. So the front view changes for the radio view, very annoying when you are landing. This was not happening with the previous version. I use chaseplane, but the radio view is not one I define in chaseplane. it seem to be the one define in P3D (default). Also If I recall, MCE had a option to increase the static noise when using the PUSH to talk button, I do not see the option anymore. Thanks Pierre

I would also like to know the solution Pierre -
I just completed a flight with the PMDG 747 8i v3, there is a known problem with the FO switch in the vhs mic off when tuning the radio. I forgot this today and i miss a AtC handoff because of that. So i wonder, is there a way to find what frequency you should be monitoring at different stage of the flight? Pierre
