  1. First off I want to apologize in advance to all the simmers who fly "as real as it gets" and I hope this question does not offend you. I only have time for a quick flight here and there these days and I fly at 100% throttle from take off till landing. How many NM from the airport should I reduce throttle and how much should I reduce. I always seem to be going to fast on approach and end up passing the airport or I have to start a steep descent to land. I normally fly the default 737 or CS 727. If anyone could give me some quick instruction that would be great.I am looking for something like this that could be used as a general guideline for airliners, if possible:100 NM reduce to 250 knots50 NM reduce to 200 knots20 NM reduce to 180 + flaps 5 degrees5 NM reduce to approach speed + flaps 15 degreesThanks for your time.
  2. Happy New Year! I hope everyone has a great 2010.
  3. Oh, by the way. I upgraded from Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 64 bit. Clean install.
  4. I have upgraded my i7 920 to Windows 7 OS. I must say I have pleased with the results in running FSX. I have been able to move the slide further to the right and still see a frame rate increase. I have been in the process of adding all my FSX software and keep waiting for the stuttering or frame rate loss, none yet that I have found. Everything is looking very stable at this point.
  5. I am upgrading to Windows 7 64 bit from Vista 32 bit. Got the money for Christmas now I need to find a good deal. The lowest price in town I can find is $109.99 and online at $89.99 plus $15 shipping. Still looking.
  6. What is everyone wanting for Christmas? Do you have a great add-on you would like to share with everyone?Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone on AVSIM!
  7. Can you send me the files too? [email protected] you
  8. I ended up getting a ASUS p6t with i7 920 and 3gb 1600 mhz ram. Went a little over my budget but everything is working great. Now I just need to overclock this setup. Any advice?
  9. I understand, you have me convinced it's not supporting the 45nm chips. Thanks for your input. Now I have to decide if I should spend the extra money for an i7 since I need a new mobo anyway. One last question, is there a CPU for my current mobo that would make much of a difference for FSX beyond the E6600. I guess I could overclock and buy a fan...
  10. I will need to do some more research, in reviewing my manual it says the following for FSB:1333**/1066/800/533 MHz (**avaliable when CPU's are ready for 1333MHz FSB)
  11. I was just hoping for a rather quick and easy upgrade. I have experience at installing just about every component except for a motherboard. Will all of my current components work with the new mobo?
  12. TechGuy,I did not see your list before. I see what you mean. That's disappointing.
  13. My manual says the mobo support the quad core up to a 1066 front side bus. What's the difference between the Q9650 and the Q9550. It seems to be hard to find the Q9650?
  14. Hi all, I would like to upgrade my CPU without buying a new motherboard. I currently have a Core 2 E6600 with ASUS P5N-E, 4 mb 667 ram and 9800gt. What is the best processor for FSX that can be installed into a 775 socket motherboard. I don't want to spend more than $500 in total. Is there anything else I should consider upgrading. Thanks, for your help.
  15. What is the top speed and distance of the L-39?
