  1. hello hifi team, great job on AS 2012! i am enjoying it much better then ASE :) flying with DWC is a pleasure now with all weather settings in FSUIPC off. if there is only 1 aspect of the software that i hope will see some improvement, it is regarding the depiction of an overcast cloud layer. with the cloud coverage density in my fsx settings set to full right, i can still see some "holes" in an overcast cloud layer when i fly above it, as seen in the image below. also, when i fly above fog, i can see the ground clearly.. is this a fsx limitation?
  2. i know the smallest aircraft model in singapore airlines' fleet is an a330-300 , but i would greatly appreciate if someone could do a fictional singapore airlines 737-900 perhaps? thank you :)
  3. yeah i think since we were told that the ngx would perform substantially better than the 747, i was looking forward to silky smooth hand flying of the ngx, but apparently this is not the case now.. i am actually quite satisfied with the performance of the 747 under most conditions, and having the ngx performing worse than it leaves me both puzzled and disappointed...
  4. i had this issue before.. turning off transparency AA in nvidia inspector solved the issue for me.
  5. i'm having slightly lower performance as compared to the 747-8i too.. fsx.cfg is tweaked using the ******* tool. external limiter locked at 30fps. in the VC at uk2000 gatwick airport on runway 26L, daytime, fair weather, REX clouds, GEX & UTX Europe: 747-8i: avg 27 FPS737ngx: avg 20 FPS the ngx seemed to fly less smoothly too, more microstutters were detected. i'm wondering why everyone else seemed to be having much better performance in the ngx??
  6. hi ashwath, thanks for showing how to reduce the 4096 textures to 1024. when i converted only the livery texture to 1024, the missing textures issue did not go away. however, when i resized the 16mb dds files in both the texture.8inormal and texture.8ipmdg folders too, the corrupted textures issue seemed to be solved. changing views or going into the menu screens did not trigger the corrupted textures. and i'm using only a nvidia gts250 512mb gpu (195.62 driver). perhaps you can try it too.Edmund Lim
  7. hi,are there any addons currently available that will show you the length of runway remaining?in some commercial jets they get audio callouts for the runway length remaining.thanks
  8. using the 191.07 driver gives me the same if not better performance than the 182.50 driver :) plus 191.07 offers improved performance to other games too.
  9. hi familyguy when you mean "completely", you had tried all the dynamicheadmovement, momentum effect tweaks already right? i face the same problem too and i don't think the movements can be completely eliminated. sure the head movements were greatly lessened after applying the tweaks but they still exist. just try holding your airplane in a tight bank and look around the edges of your display, the virtual cockpit will start creeping slowly to one side.
  10. hi all,i was wondering if the nvidia 8600gt on my system is the bottleneck preventing me from acheiving higher framerates?my system specs are:Intel Core 2 Quad 9400 @ 3.0GHZNvidia 8600gt 256mb with 190.62 driver4gb DDR2-1066 RamWestern Digital 500GB Caviar BlackWindows 7 64-bitFSX Accelerationi follwed NickN's guide and tuned my system. my harddisk is defragged too. in the Virtual Cockpit of the PMDG 747 and flying around KLAX, i can only acheive around 13.5 FPS. The weird thing is that I can get the same fps in both fine and stormy weather. Setting the traffic from 0 to 75% does not seem to have an effect on the fps too. autogen level has no effect too. Is this because my cpu is more than able to run fsx and that the gpu is the limiting factor?i checked out a gpu benchmark at http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/gaming-...-X-SP2,784.html and found out that fps does indeed vary greatly between different graphic cards on the same cpu. if i upgrade my gpu to Nvidia GTS 250 512mb, will i get a significant increase in my fps? I'm hoping to acheive at least 25fps. thank you.
  11. thanks for the reply.i have set MomentumEffect = No in both camera.cfg files but the movement occurs still. in the aircraft.cfg file i cannot find any camera defintion lines for the virtual cockpit, only for other camera views like the wing views.also, i had noticed that the movement is greater when i'm flying on the pmdg 747 than on default planes like the b737-800. in the pmdg 747, when i bank left for example, the head view will start to sink towards the left and doesn't recover when i level the wings. the movement on the default 737 is much smaller. is this a problem with the pmdg 747?
  12. anyone here had successfully disabled the head movement/momentum effect in the virtual cockpit? i find it troublesome to reset the eyepoint after i kicked in a hard rudder left or right.i edited the fsx.cfg file and changed all values in the [dynamicheadmovement] section to 0 and also [momentum_effect] in cameras.cfg to false, but i still get the movements in the virtual cockpit.would greatly appreciate if somebody could share if they had managed to disable them :)
  13. i have got ASA and it really greatly improves the simulation of weather in fsx. however the haze layer disappearing issue still remains if i used the cloud textures from REX. as Mavrocket had mentioned earlier it is a REX bug. will try out FEX some day as i heard that some people prefer its cloud textures over REX, but for water textures REX is still the best out there imo.
  14. thanks all for the help :)i have narrowed down the source of the problem.
