  1. I might take a look at this if it's for the iSDT 72-500...Let me know....CheersAri
  2. I'm the same way...I've always asked or looked for something different, new, and fictional, anything other than, the same old - same old. But this is how some of the new re painters learn how to do repaints, because it's simply cut and paste and some others just prefer to do what's called real world repaints or exact correct type aircraft repaints. There are some truly gifted artist in the sim world, but in order for them to do a certain type of scheme it has to be something that they themselves are interested in doing. Most times these artists will only post up repaints that they themselves choose to do.I learned how to make repaints and for the most part all are in some way a fictional type scheme, meaning it might be an American Eagle but not in the same scheme they are currently using or that same type aircraft they are currently using. With that being said, if you’re like me and would rather see fictional or "what if" type airlines you might try and learn to do those types of repaints on your own. I never thought I'd learn to do repaints myself, until I learned about 2 programs and 1 video on YouTube. All you need are these 3 things and you will learn how to start the basics of repainting. Now that I've learned how I do repaints I don't ask for anything, I just make it myself, because I know the chances I'll get someone to do it for me are slim and none. That's been my experience, especially on certain websites.Check this out...Program 1 Paint.net...cost..........FREE - use this software to paint the aircraft in questionProgram 2 DXTBmp...cost..........FREE - use this software to convert the texture into a file that paint.net can use.YouTube vid...............................FREE - use this video to learn how to use both the software programs together.Links to all......... Paint.net http://www.getpaint.net/ DXTBmp http://www.softpedia...rs/DXTBmp.shtml The vid You'll find that you'll learn this a lot quicker than you think... and you got a better chance of learning how to do repainting, before you can get someone to actually do the repaints you want. Not trying to be rude, but there are so many "what if's" on my plate right now, theres no way I could get anyone to do all the ones I'd like to have done.Take a chance, use those programs and the video... you could be well on your way to doin it the way YOU WANT !!Good luck...CheersAri
  3. Would like to work on this one simply because its an Airbus...but payware kits are a frame rate killer on my puter. Can't wait until tax return time and build a new one.
  4. I might be willing to do this but you will need to post some pictures of what you are wanting or links to pictures that I can use as a guide.I have both the 42 and 72 paint kits from iSDT, but be fore warned, I have about 12 projects going at this time, so it might be awhile before it gets done.CheersAri
  5. "Although it may not have been your intention but quite the opposite, you make one of the strongest cases FOR the Boeing 737 that could be made." WOW Really...how so??? Check the stats below taken a week ago.....really??? "What's this Boeing 737 you speak of? I've bought and downloaded many add-on planes for FSX, but none of them turned out to be of this mythical Boeing 737 variety that seems to be spreading on your hard drive like a virus. I do have a Beechcraft Duke with turbine engines, a Quest Kodiak, a De Havilland Beaver, a Diamond Twin Star, a Piper Cub that came with a 176-page manual, and many other interesting aircraft, though. Maybe one of them is a Boeing 737 in disguise?" WOW..really....HA HA HA.... I have no 737's on my HD... "And I love how you completely undermine your rant by praising and posting pics of a Boeing 737 repaint"...It was posted to show the creative fair that was used to make the repaint...in case you missed heres ya a clue...IT"S A FICTIONAL PAINT....that's what the point was there hero...didn't matter the aircraft type but to show imagination in a repaint.. One thing I've come to learn about some of the members of this site, is they have all the attuide in the world. I'll even go so far as to point out some of you are just plain snobby. As one memeber quoted .."Well don't fly 737's then"....DUH REALLY.... I thought that for once maybe, just maybe this would open up some thoughts as to what new aircraft or repaints, panels, etc might be talked about or made....thought wrong again I see ... this is one of the biggest reason I post here very little. SOOOOO............. Just a lil update...for those who believe I need decaf..a vacation..or something else to worry about..I must not be to worried about this, I posted this when???? And just for the record..in case you did miss somthing.. 737 models.. Ariane DesignsWilco PubCapt Sim...oooppss more than 2 already..lets see Fifty NorthPMDGFree SkyeDimensional... Looks like more than 2 model makers to me...how about a breakdown by sites... AvsimFSX 548 total files 470 repaints2004 6147 total files 3568 repaints Flight SimFSX 1015 total files 566 repaints2004 6758 total files 5747 repaints Now I know some of these files and repaints are on each of the sites listed above...so after averaging just these 2 sites numbers this is what you get.. For FSX 781 total files, which 518 are repaints...not that high of a percentage really, but for 2004...6452 total files, and 4657 repaints. Now by total files those could be sounds, panels, etc...but really what here truly points out there isn't more than enough repaints and models??? I'm not trying to be rude, but come on really...not enough 737 files, repaints, models...Capt Sim is getting ready to put out 3. The point that was missed is there are other aircraft, past, present, and future that are not in the flight sim world. I understand the need for absolute correct aircraft with correct airline paints "I like flying these myself"...but this is what we as a community make it. I mean really what if all anyone makes anymore is 737's and A321's with nothing more than correct real world airline paint schemes. You know that there is only 1, IAI 1124 Westwind that has been made, and no flyable Hawkers that I know of..only AI's. Like mentioned by another memeber a really good FSX Dash 8 or how about a T-37. This wasn't started to say that one aircraft is better than the other, just to point out there is more than just 737's. I know that there are many of us who would like to see new models and repaints, and those who want absolute realism in the flight sim world...I do agree with both. I'd just like to see something other than the 737's hogging the spot light.Model makers will contiune to make 737's until the community, the flight sim world is saturated with them to the point were our flight sim world becomes boring. I truly hope that this doesn't happen, because there is more in our world than just a BOEING 737. Well I'm off...see ya in another 2 weeks or so... Cheers...and like the Joker says...WHY SO SERIOUS......peace..... Ari [/indent]
  6. Well this post will more than likely get me flamed, but so be it. I've been a memeber here since 09. I've posted a few questions and answered a few from time to time. I don't have a great deal of time to be on the forums as much these days due to the fact I work in airport operations at Hobby (KHOU) and it's very time consuming. Another reason I'm also not spending much time here is that the flight sim world has become..well..rather BOEING. In other words Boeing 737. I see this aircraft every single day 737,737,737. It's all SWA flys. Air Tran was once my only diversion from the boring 737, "since they have 717's in their fleet', but that to is slowly becoming a thing of the past now that they have their 737 coming on line. The only saving grace now is Delta's CRJ-700 ( maybe 6 to 10 flights a day,for the entire day ), Jet Blue's A320 ( 4 to 6 flight the entire day ) and Frontier's A319 ( maybe 4 flights a day ). It's just SWA 737's ALL DAY LONG. From 5AM to well past Midnight. So you see what I deal with every day for 8 hrs 5 days a week. What does this have to do with flightsimming??? Everything. The flight sim world has become boring to tears with BOEING 737's. Before anyone starts to think this is written in order to have someone do a repaint for me or make a certain type of aircraft for me...stop now. I know how to do repaints, as for the modeling of a new aircraft, I barely have time for repaints as it is, and have not acquired that skill to do modeling. On any given day on any of the flight sim sites " not just this one " you will find more than a half a dozen or more repaints for the 737. Sim makers(retailers), freeware aircraft model makers, make more new versions of the 737 than they do of any other type of aircraft. WHY?!?!?! It's just plain boring. Really do we need every single model of a 737 that Boeing has made( 200,300,400,600 ) and a repaint of the same old boring airline paint scheme? I don't know the exact figures of just how many different types of aircraft there are actually flying in the real world today, but why are we not seeing any of these other types made? Flight sim aircraft model makers, both retail and freeware make 737's and A320 series type aircraft all the time, and I don't see on the forums on any of the sites about a cease and desist. So why are we not seeing other types of aircraft? Yes I know about Gulf Stream and their UNwillingness to join the flight sim world..." the G series is overated in my opinion", but there are other aircraft out there to be made. If I had the time to LEARN model making I would trust me. But there are those out there that do know how to make aircraft and are masters at it. WOW to get my hands on a IAI Westwind 1 1124, a beautiful, fast aircraft that is no longer in production and there are few of these flying every year, one of our FBO's recently shipped one out to be cannabalized for another 1124, how about a T-37 "Tweety" for FSX, or P-47D ' not the razorback, but the bubble canopy" , not sure about a cease and desist on this one , but a Hawker 850 which is another one that should be in the sim world. Those are just a few and I'm more than sure there are those out there who could come up with even more. A point I'm trying to make here is this. NEW aircraft types, NEW repaints for aircraft OTHER THAN a 737. This is our world and we have a pretty big voice in it. How many Northwwest, American, Delta, Continental aka United etc do we really need? If your putting it on an aircraft that's not in that airlines inventory, GREAT!!, but do we really need 10 or 15 UNITED 737's Since this is our world we should be more creative, make a new United or Northwest, Southwest what ever airline you wish, just come out with a new scheme use you imagination, remeber this is our world to create in. One thing I have learned about repainting myself is that to copy/paste a logo from some major airline is a piece of cake, it's not that difficult, really it's not. That is not in anyway intened to be rude. I 've talk with several repainters here and on other forms, and I think those I've talked with, about repainting would agree. How many memebers have been to this site? http://www.cardatabase.net/modifieda...main?type=Fake. There are a ton of schemes here I would love to see in our world. Getting a hold of some of the designers for permission on the other hand can be a chore, most I've tried to contact have not responded, and I will not repaint without the artists permission. This is where we should be now in our world. New, wild, imaginative, bold repaints with a flare. It doesn't matter one bit if it's a fictional paint scheme or not, but we shouldn't be making these new schemes just for a 737. I would bet there are more repaints out there for the 737 than any other aircraft in the flight sim world. How about some new repaints for the Lear 45 or the King Air, even the CRJ-700. I've seen some really wild paint jobs where I work on these aircraft that are in the hands of private owners, even a few 717's. Repaints don't always have to bold and wild thou, sometimes a subtle paint scheme works just as well. A private CRJ-700 with a few wave lines in different colors would be something new that's not out there. I've got 2 CRJ-700's in the works right now, as a private ownership type aircraft. To give you an ideal where I'm trying to get to, us to, check out the AVATAR repaint done by Jon Murchison. Yeah I know its a 737. But not only is it a fictional repaint, but it is also a unique design, the word "AVATAR" lights up at night. Sure wish he'd do this for a Airbus or an ATR. I thought about doing this repaint myself just for me, personnally, but I haven't figured out how to make the words light up at light, and I will never repaint someone else's design without their permission to do so. This is were I would love to see the flight sim world move to. Unique, fictional one of a kind paint schemes, and newer types of aircraft. As far as my repaints, here are 2, both of which are in their final stages for weathering and minor touch ups.. both are ATR 72 -500's by ISDT. One is a Brussels fictional that will end up being named " Winter Wonderland", the other is a somewhat fictional repaint of a REX airlines paint scheme, the tail is the new part of the repaint. If you notice and have a ISDT aircraft in your inventory there are new panel lines, rivets, markings and warning decals. By the way, there is "NO WAY" am I claiming to be the flight sim worlds end all be all repainter, there are some truly gifted repaint artist out there, but this is why it takes me so long in making a repaint. Attention to details matters to me, just like it does for other repainters. So when you ask for a repaint, now you know why it take so long, especially if it's a special or fictional type paint scheme. And sorry.. but I won't do any repaints for a 737. Now before someone gets in a tiff...I have nothing against Boeing per say, just 737's. I have in inventory 717's, 757's and Triple 7's, BUT. I also like to fly the A330's and ATR's the Lear and King Air. I fly my combat aircraft like the Tomcat, the F-22, the Tornado GR4, the F-16, and the "B-52 and the 47 which I believe are portovers"..both which are Boeings..see I told you I didn't have anything against Boeing. JUST THE 737's. There is nothing wrong what so ever in my opinion with a fictional repaint or a "what if" type paint scheme, doesn't matter if it's for a commerical airline, a combat fighter, or an old WWII era plane. Heck let's bring back some airlines that are not in operation anymore. Slap a new paint scheme or design on a 757 or a A321. It costs nothing to try, other than the free time you put in it. Who knows, you just might come up with something that an existing airline might want to do to their fleet, or you might come up with a new repaint that gets 10,000 downloads. All I will ask is this, imagine, create, something new, for something other than the same old boring BOEING 737. Thanks for listening and the time YOU took to read this rant. LET THE FLAMING BEGIN........... Peace and cheers, Ari
  7. I'm trying to get a Jet City 717 paint kit. According to their website the paint kit was lost when the site was hacked, but the has not be re-uploaded. Would there be a chance that someone here would happen to have a copy of the paint kit saved somewhere?I've tried emailing them a dozen times and have never gotten a reply.Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.CheersAri
  8. Checked the file and it differs a little but it is there...autopilot_available=1flight_director_available=1default_vertical_speed=1700.000autothrottle_available=1autothrottle_arming_required=0autothrottle_takeoff_ga=0autothrottle_max_rpm=105.000Those are NOT "duplicate" gauges. Note that each is a "pair" of gauges, one for INCREASE and the other for DECREASE.I understand they are in pairs but what I was trying to point out is that they used 2 different gauges to the work of one. I haven't noticed any of my other aircraft using that many gauges. What I generally see in most of my other freeware aircraft panels are something like this...gauge05=General!AP_AltSelector, 904,341,21,21gauge06=General!AP_Course_Selector, 573,341,19,20gauge07=General!AP_FDSwitch, 608,300,14,29gauge08=General!AP_course_Window, 572,304,23,13gauge09=General!AP_AltWindow, 883,307,39,13gauge10=General!AP_HdgSelector, 750,340,20,19gauge11=General!AP_IASMachSelector, 661,340,22,20gauge12=General!AP_HdgWindow, 747,307,23,13gauge13=General!AP_IASMachWindow, 657,305,28,13gauge14=General!AP_VSSelector, 814, 331 ,10,33gauge15=General!AP_VSWindow, 786,308,35,13What I'm used to seeing the most of in my panels is something like this..gauge18=Boeing777-300!Autopilot,255,182That one gauge controls everthing I guess...and if I believe correctly this is writing in xml code correct? Which is way above my head.Ari
  9. I've tried both of those...and the Autopilot stack inside the VC still wouldn't work. The problem I see is that there are to many gauges I believe, or should I say double gauge work. Notice how there are 2 gauges performing the task of what should be 1 gauge. Maybe I'm reading it wrong.gauge00=Tornado_Gauges!Panel Lights Switch, 129,44,18,18gauge01=Tornado_Gauges!Landing Light Switch, 90,44,18,18gauge02=Tornado_Gauges!Navigation Lights Switch, 59,44,18,18gauge03=Tornado_Gauges!Avionics Switch, 23,92,18,18gauge04=Tornado_Gauges!Battery Switch, 61,92,18,18gauge05=Tornado_Gauges!AP_DISP_Heading Lock, 99,405,60,10gauge06=Tornado_Gauges!AP_DISP_Altitude Lock, 99,305,60,10gauge07=Tornado_Gauges!AP_DISP_Speed Lock, 100,338,58,10gauge08=Tornado_Gauges!AP_DISP_Mach Lock, 100,372,59,10gauge09=Tornado_Gauges!AP_DISP_VS Lock, 101,442,60,10gauge10=Tornado_Gauges!AP ALT Dec, 77,296,15,27gauge11=Tornado_Gauges!AP ALT Inc, 65,297,12,27gauge12=Tornado_Gauges!AP_IAS Hold, 42,334,19,19gauge13=Tornado_Gauges!AP_Mach Hold, 43,370,17,17gauge14=Tornado_Gauges!AP_Heading Hold, 43, 405 ,17,17gauge15=Tornado_Gauges!AP_Alt Hold, 42,302,18,20gauge16=Tornado_Gauges!AP Button Master, 41,508,18,17gauge17=Tornado_Gauges!Approach Hold, 108,507,19,17gauge18=Tornado_Gauges!AP_BackCourse Hold, 143,507,18,17gauge19=Tornado_Gauges!Fuel Cutoff 1, 96,187,18,18gauge20=Tornado_Gauges!Fuel Cutoff 2, 133,187,18,18gauge21=Tornado_Gauges!Strobe Lights Switch, 24,44,18,18gauge22=Tornado_Gauges!AP IAS Dec, 79,331,15,27gauge23=Tornado_Gauges!AP IAS Inc, 64,331,15,27gauge24=Tornado_Gauges!AP HDG Inc, 64,401,15,27gauge25=Tornado_Gauges!AP HDG Dec, 78,401,15,27gauge26=Tornado_Gauges!AP VS Inc, 65,437,15,27gauge27=Tornado_Gauges!AP VS Dec, 80,436,15,27gauge28=Tornado_Gauges!AP Mach Inc, 63,365,15,27gauge29=Tornado_Gauges!AP Mach Dec, 78,365,15,27gauge30=Tornado_Gauges!Pitot Heat, 62,187,18,18gauge31=Tornado_Gauges!L Generator, 91,91,18,18gauge32=Tornado_Gauges!R Generator, 130,90,18,18The other problem I see, is that if the gauge was replaced by 1 stand alone gauge it might not show up in the right location " I think" because of the first set of location numbers. I know that in the VC on the Autopilot stack all the the images or readouts for the gauge is there, but there's nothing working, as in nothing to click or set for the Autopilot to acutally work. It's a great little plane and with the config update flys really well. But without the Autopilot working, it's a lot of work to fly longer distances. If I could just get the AP master on/off, ALT hold and NAV-GPS buttons to work the throttle setting wouldn't be that big of a deal, as I could set thoses manually.Ari
  10. I can't seem to get the AP to work (in FSX) and I'm wondering if I can change the lines in the panel file to make the AP work. I know I would have to place the gauges in the panel also to make it work.I know not to change the values, ie Tornado_Gauges!AP_IAS Hold, 42,334,19,19, but just the gauge itself Tornado_Gauges!AP_IAS Hold, 42,334,19,19Below is the panel file[Window02]file=torn_elecauto.bmp file_1024=torn_elecauto.bmp size_mm=194window_size_ratio=1.000 position=0visible=0ident=90window_size= 0.150, 0.600window_pos= 0.860, 0.000gauge00=Tornado_Gauges!Panel Lights Switch, 129,44,18,18gauge01=Tornado_Gauges!Landing Light Switch, 90,44,18,18gauge02=Tornado_Gauges!Navigation Lights Switch, 59,44,18,18gauge03=Tornado_Gauges!Avionics Switch, 23,92,18,18gauge04=Tornado_Gauges!Battery Switch, 61,92,18,18gauge05=Tornado_Gauges!AP_DISP_Heading Lock, 99,405,60,10gauge06=Tornado_Gauges!AP_DISP_Altitude Lock, 99,305,60,10gauge07=Tornado_Gauges!AP_DISP_Speed Lock, 100,338,58,10gauge08=Tornado_Gauges!AP_DISP_Mach Lock, 100,372,59,10gauge09=Tornado_Gauges!AP_DISP_VS Lock, 101,442,60,10gauge10=Tornado_Gauges!AP ALT Dec, 77,296,15,27gauge11=Tornado_Gauges!AP ALT Inc, 65,297,12,27gauge12=Tornado_Gauges!AP_IAS Hold, 42,334,19,19gauge13=Tornado_Gauges!AP_Mach Hold, 43,370,17,17gauge14=Tornado_Gauges!AP_Heading Hold, 43, 405 ,17,17gauge15=Tornado_Gauges!AP_Alt Hold, 42,302,18,20gauge16=Tornado_Gauges!AP Button Master, 41,508,18,17gauge17=Tornado_Gauges!Approach Hold, 108,507,19,17gauge18=Tornado_Gauges!AP_BackCourse Hold, 143,507,18,17gauge19=Tornado_Gauges!Fuel Cutoff 1, 96,187,18,18gauge20=Tornado_Gauges!Fuel Cutoff 2, 133,187,18,18gauge21=Tornado_Gauges!Strobe Lights Switch, 24,44,18,18gauge22=Tornado_Gauges!AP IAS Dec, 79,331,15,27gauge23=Tornado_Gauges!AP IAS Inc, 64,331,15,27gauge24=Tornado_Gauges!AP HDG Inc, 64,401,15,27gauge25=Tornado_Gauges!AP HDG Dec, 78,401,15,27gauge26=Tornado_Gauges!AP VS Inc, 65,437,15,27gauge27=Tornado_Gauges!AP VS Dec, 80,436,15,27gauge28=Tornado_Gauges!AP Mach Inc, 63,365,15,27gauge29=Tornado_Gauges!AP Mach Dec, 78,365,15,27gauge30=Tornado_Gauges!Pitot Heat, 62,187,18,18gauge31=Tornado_Gauges!L Generator, 91,91,18,18gauge32=Tornado_Gauges!R Generator, 130,90,18,18Is this possible to do?Thanks for any help or input.CheersAri
  11. Would anyone here happen to have the fix for the cockpit glass for the IRIS Tornado, so that it works in FSX.Thanks in advanceCheers Ari
  12. As some of you may or may not know, Southwest is in the process of buying AirTran airlines. Which means not only will they be taking over all the new 737's that AirTran just purchased, but it's fleet of 717's as well. After talking with a few pilots from each of the airlines they have all told me the same thing, that Southwest will be keeping the 717 in inventory, to be used more as a regional aircraft.Since most know what the Southwest logo looks like, there is going to be a need for a NEW paint scheme. The "Southwest" logo is to large to fit on the 717's tail. Here is a chance to get creative and design somthing completely different from the norm. Designing a NEW paint scheme for the 717's. Maybe something like the Southwest logo across the upper part of the fuselage or maybe all the way down the fuselage to the tail, like that of Frontier . Maybe just the Southwest colors with a new font for the tail “SWA”. Maybe somthing as wild as the paint scheme Sky West did for the 35th Ann. CRJ-900. Maybe even a few of the State Flag logos they use would be nice. All that I would ask is the new paint schemes be made for the Jet City 717, JCA makes a great 717.Hope a few of you take this request up, it would be really neat to see what could be done for the 717 in a Southwest logo in a standard or “what if” paint scheme.CheersAri
  13. No rush Gold...I understand you have alot on your list... perfection takes time :( Cheers Ari
  14. Sorry about that didn't know links had died...here are some new oneshttp://upload.wikime..._Boeing_727.jpghttp://www.simviatio...2_023_n1910.jpgNotice that as I stated before hand that on the real world logo the "PLANET" logo is pink...but the one in the screenshot looks gray/silver color with the black outline, that is the logo I'm looking to have made. I was also able to locate the 2002 B727 texture file if that helps.CheersAri
  15. I would like to see if maybe someone MIGHT do a repaint or maybe get on someones "LIST" to do this Airlines logo for a Jet City 717. I know they do not fly this type, but it sure would look good on a 717.I am a memeber at Screenshot World and found a screenshot of a memebers 727 with this logo and noticed that the screenshot and the REAL world Aircraft have a slight difference in the word " PLANET " The REAL world appears to be pink with black outlines and shadows, the Screenshot appears to be more of a gray or silver with black outlines and shadows, which I really like more. The aircraft I'm requesting the repaint textures for would be for the Jet City 717...I absolutely love to fly this aircraft and love the looks of her. This is my favorite cilivan airliner to fly.I know that all of you texture artists have a TON of repaints on your "to do" list, hopefully maybe this will be something that might interest someone enough get on someones list. For anyone who has a Screenshot world account here's the link to the ACLink to REAL world ACI would also like to take the time to thank you all...those of you out there, the texture artists, aircraft builders, panel makers, and all the others that continue to contribute your time and freewares to the flight simming world. Without you this hobby would be a very dull place to be. THANK YOU.CheersAri
