  1. I can see your point here. You may think it's ridiculous. I could very well do without the HGS in a second coded aircraft for the sake of more realistic weather effects in the cockpit. I hardly ever use the HGS anyway. However, this is just my opinion and I understand if PMDG decide no to consider this possibility. It was just an idea: with different variants to select from in the starting menu everybody is happy. Then again, I'm not a programmer and I may very well not be aware of the complexity of what I'm suggesting. Diego Reig.
  2. I understand Thomas. And I understand PMDG's priorities when it comes to functionality. It's just that I love the raindrops on my PMDG JS41 and the fact that they are not included in following planes feels like a step taken backwards. Anyway, I really hope they don't reach the animation limit with the 777. Diego Reig.
  3. I would happily pay for a product like that in order to get bad weather effects in my PMDG aircraft VCs. Diego Reig.
  4. Yeah, I guess so. I don't know because I know nothing about programing so I'm probably suggesting something unreasonable. It's just that I see variants with and without winglets and things like that and I was just wondering. I really don't know the level of complexity that somenthing like that would involve. I was hoping maybe Ryan could tell us whether or not this is a crazy idea. Diego Reig.
  5. I did read the whole thread before posting. But what I meant was (and I don't think this has been answered before although I may be wrong): if we load two different variants of the same airplane from the starting menu, does that mean that we could have two different sets of animations, and therefore, assign them to different options (one variant with HGS, another one with raindrops, and so forth...)? Of course, I would understand if PMDG decide not to go that far just for the sake of raindrops. Just curious... Diego Reig.
  6. I understand Ryan. However, would it be possible to choose from the menu between a model with HGS (for instance) and another one with raindrops? Sorry, I know we are being a pain in the neck but most of us who come from FS9 miss them so much... Another thing: I remember you (or Rob, I don't know) saying that in FSX you would need to animate each raindrop individually which is complicated... But this is not what happens in the J41. You managed to do it the classic FS9 way, which by the way works wonderfully for me. Anyway, I understand raindrops are not a priority but I hope you find a way sooner or later, which can also be included as an SP in the NGX (the best simulated aircraft I've ever seen on a computer, congratulations!). Diego Reig.
  7. I totally agree. And besides, you forget all the time you spend doing the preflight. To sit in the cockpit going through all the stuff before pushback with dry spotless windows while it's pouring outside is a real shame. Please PMDG, consider the possibility of including this option in the CDU in the future (in exchange of other animations you may see fit sacrificing). Diego Reig.
  8. Exactly! If it worked and looked nice in the J41, then why take it away in the NGX. Isn´t that some kind of a step back from what PMDG had already achieved? I mean with the J41´s raindrops you guys managed to break through FSX limitations once again and give everyone back a non-perfect and yet wonderful visual effect that should have always made it from FS9 to FSX. But now you have decided (or so it seems from the last comments I read from PMDG on this matter) to disregard this feature. And I find that a real shame especially because I hate to think that such an incredible aircraft like the one you are about to release will be missing a nice feature such as raindrops when compared to your previous plane.Could someone from PMDG tell me if this matter would at least be taken into consideration regarding future updates?Thank you guys for what is nevertheless an extraordinary aircraft which I am so looking forward to enjoying.Regards,Diego Reig
  9. Ben wrote: "I may be wrong, but as I understand, the lack of rain effects in the VC is an FSX issue. I'm sure someone with far more knowledge will be able to ellaborate on this."Hi Ben, yes it is an FSX issue, but it´s a problem that PMDG were already able to overcome in their JS41, as explained previoulsy. I bet they could easily do the same for the NGX if they so decided.Regards, Diego Reig
  10. First of all, I think you guys are doing an awesome job and I´m really looking forward to the NGX which I´m sure is going to be a masterpiece, just like the previous ones (I own the 747-400 and the JS41 and I they are the only aircraft I fly). And it´s because I fly the JS41 that I have to insist on asking for raindrops on the windshield in the VC. Sometime ago PMDG (I think it was Robert, but I´m not sure) stated that raindrops were not an option for the NGX because the experience is somewhat faulty in the JS41 and to do it properly would mean to animate every single drop individually.Well let me say something, the only fault I see in the JS41, which is done the FS9 way (a sequence of 15 semitransparent images containing the raindrops in motion) is a tiny little pause at the end of the sequence which is barely noticeable. However, the feeling and the way it helps realism on a rainy day is incredible. And because it´s done this way, the impact on FPS in my VERY modest computer is NONE!).Another reason I have heard from PMDG not to include them, is that raindrops in a 737 are almost invisible when flying. Well that is not completely true. It may be though at match .85, but not at approach speed, which is when pilots, by the way, activate their windshield wipers. In fact, there was someone who included a video of a 737 on finals on a terribly stormy weather some months ago and the presence of the rain on the windshield was VERY noticeable and added to the difficulty of the approach. And besides, what about the feeling on a rainy day in an Orbx´s PNW airport, carrying out your preflight checklists with the raindrops falling on your stopped aircraft´s windshield? That´s how I like to fly my JS41, and the fact that this feature will not be included in NGX just breaks my heart...Anyway, I don´t suppose you can change this now that you are so close to release but I beg you to reconsider doing what you did with the JS41 (we don´t need anything more sophistcated than that: basic and non-fps-hitter and yet SO EFFECTIVE) for a future update. Please think about it PMDG. And thank you anyway for what we all know is going to be the best aircraft simulation in a long time.Kind regards,Diego Reig.
  11. Sorry guys at PMDG but I HAVE TO INSIST!! Now that the J41 is out, and having flown it for quite some time, I can tell you it is the best FS aircraft I've had so far :( . EVERYTHING in it is just perfect. Well... everything except I the lack of raindrops on the wingshield ( I know, it
  12. Why do you keep comparing both aircraft? Nobody is trying to place one aircraft in some other aircraft
  13. I reckon it takes very little to "PROPERLY reproduce this". I mean, after all in FS9 the quality of the raindrops was definately very poor, and yet the effect was quite good, and the difference when not having it is HUGE!! In fact, I
  14. Come to think of it, when people at PMDG create such a complex aircraft like this one, they design lots of different gauges from scratch and I was wondering wether it would be possible to design the raindrops effect just like any other gauge, so that when you turn on the wipers the raindrops show on the windshield... Mind you I have no idea about programming so I don
  15. You guys at PMDG can make anything happen, right? Tell me you found the way to have raindrops on the windshield in the VC of the J41. I am aware that this is an issue related to FSX but flying on a rainy day without the effect of the raindrops feels so unreal and is so frustrating. If only you could do something about it. Maybe you could find a way to have the raindrops on the windshield the minute you turn on the wipers, for example. That would certainly be good enough for me and would definately help this product reach yet a higher level regarding realism. I miss those raindrops, I NEEEEEEED those raindrops. You guys are the best and I
