RAINDROPS for the J41? Pleeease...

Featured Replies

You guys at PMDG can make anything happen, right? Tell me you found the way to have raindrops on the windshield in the VC of the J41. I am aware that this is an issue related to FSX but flying on a rainy day without the effect of the raindrops feels so unreal and is so frustrating. If only you could do something about it. Maybe you could find a way to have the raindrops on the windshield the minute you turn on the wipers, for example. That would certainly be good enough for me and would definately help this product reach yet a higher level regarding realism. I miss those raindrops, I NEEEEEEED those raindrops. You guys are the best and I

My vote for raindrops. They miss me too. :(

+1 I could never figure out why they took that out of fsx, I loved it.

+1 Wet weather is "lame" in FSX. PMDG rain and window fogging effects would be nice. I believe PMDG have icing effects for the J41 so thats good.edit: And wipers that actually wipe the rain away! That would be great.

Come to think of it, when people at PMDG create such a complex aircraft like this one, they design lots of different gauges from scratch and I was wondering wether it would be possible to design the raindrops effect just like any other gauge, so that when you turn on the wipers the raindrops show on the windshield... Mind you I have no idea about programming so I don

Guys, I think if they could PROPERLY reproduce this, than have no doubt about it......it will BE.Peter Osborn

I reckon it takes very little to "PROPERLY reproduce this". I mean, after all in FS9 the quality of the raindrops was definately very poor, and yet the effect was quite good, and the difference when not having it is HUGE!! In fact, I

+1 as well.I have Zinertek's Ultimate Weather for FS2004 and may I say, the raindrops are INCREDIBLE! The sound of the rain hitting the windshield and the effects of the water droplets on the glass is very very believable. So, if FS2004 can do it, so can FSX.On the other hand, I use a weather addon to reproduce realistic rain drop effects for FS@004... So, shouldn't REX (for FSX) be able to reproduce the same for every aircraft?

Hey guys - this has actually already been done on the Lotus Simulations L-39 Albatros:

See from 1:18 onwardsEDIT: I recommend watching from 3:55 onwards as wellThis is another tremendous aircraft if, like the JS41, you want FSX and your realism experience to go that little bit further!!!Enjoy!Neil Riddell

+1 for the Alby.

Although Raindrops are nice and "Pretty", I would rather see PMDG spend the time putting the features that they promised would be in the J41 than spend the time adding stuff that was never on the original product feature list. Some examples of these missing features are, "An all-new failure-control module" and systems modeling equivelant of a "Study Sim".JB

[/url]It is possible to add the raindrop effect after all. This should not played down, the effects are important when simming in wet weather.Come on PMDG give it a shot.As an aside, when taxiing in wet weather Im getting a mist trail coming from the central underbelly, strange thing is, it wont stop, even after taking off and entering clear weather.Any ideas welcome, i saw it on a screenshot once on a forum, but no idea how to cure it.
thanks.d jones

I thought this effect was taken out of FSX by microsoft... but I guess someone found a way to program it back in. I really loved it for FS9. Was so disappointed when it wasn't in FSX by default.

Sorry guys at PMDG but I HAVE TO INSIST!! Now that the J41 is out, and having flown it for quite some time, I can tell you it is the best FS aircraft I've had so far :( . EVERYTHING in it is just perfect. Well... everything except I the lack of raindrops on the wingshield ( I know, it
