1. Hi, does anyone know why some of my incoming radio transmissions are very quiet? I can only hear them if I alt tab out of the simulator as they happen because the engine noise drowns them out. Other transmissions are fine. Seems to happen every other time. Any ideas? EDIT: I have a feeling it's related to windows 10. It seems like background applications like Radar Contact is, gets a lower volume. Does anyone know how to make background applications of equal volume to the main app? EDIT 2: Disregard, figured it out, just very quiet volume. Everything appears to be working now.
2. Hi, I'm doing a fresh install of FSX after many years of not using it and need to refresh my memory about stuff I need to do to make it not crash. I installed SP1 and SP2 and also put UIAutomationCore.dll into the installation location to prevent menu bar crashes but other things I should be doing elude me. For example, I remember it crashing when you right click after about 10 minutes of being in the sim. Also, I remember doing longer flights and then arriving at the destination only to find that not all the scenery has loaded. I might be forgetting other things that are needed for a stable install. Please refresh my memory. Thanks!
3. Oh I'm with you. I don't have the PMDG J41 as I mentioned so I won't be able to read it.
4. Thanks for the response, was there supposed to be a link in your response?
5.
Please note, I don't own PMDG products but asking here because I've asked this question on other forums and haven't found a response anywhere else.

Hi, I'm trying to figure out how the engines and props on the Jetstream 41 work. The way I see it, Beta is only active when you are going in reverse? So the manual prop blade pitch control only happens when you're reversing and PG is active when you're moving forwards (whether it's taxiing on the ground or in flight). Correct?

6. Can you also please add:BrindabellaJetstar& Go Cat (Tiger Airways)I presume Qantas is already in there? Thanks
7. I was thinking, since FSX gives you taxi instructions, I don't know how it does it, but since you guys are saying you are working on it, I'm confident you do, but in relation to controlling the AI in such a way so as not have any conflicts, could the solution be as simple as...You know the path that each aircraft has been assigned and I think there's a program that you can use to change the taxi speeds of aircraft (both taxi speeds and their speeds for cornering depending on the type of angle in the corner or at least there was for FS2002), so really, you should be able to quite easily calculate if on a basis between two nodes, whether two aircraft will appear between any two given nodes at the same time in which case, you should halt one of them until the other one passes. I think at least for aircraft crossing each others paths, this to me appears to be a simple problem (Default FSX ATC tried to do this but it gets all confused if you have two aircraft heading towards each other which means that people designing airports are placing too many nodes or maybe there needs to be more of different types of nodes... not sure if thats possible with FSX though. Having one taxiway leading from the runway though... well I suppose that one taxiway, probably has no intermediary nodes in which case, you would halt another aircraft before the start of that longer stretch until the one that gets on there first passes. Anyway, hopefully I was clear enough with my explanation and hopefully it wasn't something that you guys have looked at in the way of possible solutions, but chances are, you have but just throwing it out there.
8. The other cool thing about the J41 is the FS2Crew thing that came out for it, I'm just waiting for someone to post what it's like on youtube. That might seal the deal although I'm pretty sure I'm still looking for a proper cockpit setup at the end of the day.
9. I'm interested in building a proper simulator cockpit... not particularly into the whole track ir business. I found a lot of information on the J41 for making the panels but it's kind of moot if there's no 2D panels. I was also thinking of the A320 as there's quite a lot of airbus projects happening at the moment but for that I'm waiting for Airsimmer for FSX as FSX is what I'm using at the moment
10. I havent bought it yet and I want to buy it. Is it possible to somehow get 2D gauges for it? I've got a dual monitor setup with one for the view and one for the instruments and it's kinda pointless if it's only got a 3D cockpit.
11. Hi guys, does the J41 have 2D panels?
