July 3, 201015 yr Please sign full name as per forum rules :) no, the j41 does not have any 2d panels. br, alex Best regards,
July 3, 201015 yr Author I havent bought it yet and I want to buy it. Is it possible to somehow get 2D gauges for it? I've got a dual monitor setup with one for the view and one for the instruments and it's kinda pointless if it's only got a 3D cockpit.
July 3, 201015 yr The radio and fms can be opened in 2 d windows, nothing else as far as I know. Helge Rasmussen
July 4, 201015 yr Can you not just set up a second 3D view using the ] key? Then aim that at whatever you want displayed on your secondary monitor? ckyliu, proud supporter of ViaIntercity.com. i5 12400F, 32GB, RTX4070, more in "About me" on my profile.
July 4, 201015 yr As Alex already mentioned "Full names are required in this forum".http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=245586There are a couple things you could do to better your experience but would mean forking out some more coin. As far as guages goes, I suppose you could try creating them with a 3rd party app, but doubt that would be what you're wanting to do. Personally, I would recommend getting a 3rd monitor (Not needed, but 2 won't make this option all that great) and a Matrox Triplehead2go. Finally get yourself a TrackIR (also not needed but really goes great with the Matrox unit) and then just be prepared to lose your job because you'll never want to leave the house again :(I use to do what you're doing with the 2 screens, but just a couple hundred bucks of more gizmos and you'll feel like you're really there (this is coming from a guy that HATED the VC with a passion,,, once).I've posted screen shots around the forum before, but let me know if you want some or more info.I've just reinstalled after a few months and the JS41 isn't on there yet, but as Helge said I would use the any pop-ups available. I know the MD-11 has enough to 2D pop-ups to do what you want. As far as the comment from no name about using the ] key... I would use that as a last ditch effort if there aren't the pop-ups you need, since the new windows you get using the bracket key can be pretty hard on frame rate for some of us. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
July 5, 201015 yr Author I'm interested in building a proper simulator cockpit... not particularly into the whole track ir business. I found a lot of information on the J41 for making the panels but it's kind of moot if there's no 2D panels. I was also thinking of the A320 as there's quite a lot of airbus projects happening at the moment but for that I'm waiting for Airsimmer for FSX as FSX is what I'm using at the moment

July 5, 201015 yr Author The other cool thing about the J41 is the FS2Crew thing that came out for it, I'm just waiting for someone to post what it's like on youtube. That might seal the deal although I'm pretty sure I'm still looking for a proper cockpit setup at the end of the day.

It sorta mimics in a way 2D panel functionality as it allows you to instantly skip to select camera views without having to hit 'a' to cycle them.Makes things easier in my view.Cheers, B.
