  1. Same here. Has anyone got any idea why I'm having the problems I mentioned in my last post? I've run out of downloads for my TBM now as well so I cant simply download the most up to date version :( EDIT: Also, is there any way of increasing the amount of right rudder required on takeoff? Hardly any FS planes seem to get this right.
  2. I seem to be having some trouble getting SP2 to work. I have the original files that were released with both SP1 and SP2 installed over them yet I can see no signs that SP2 has worked (still no NG on startup etc). Also, I have been having trouble using Carenado's site recently and only just managed to actually download SP2 (kept timing out). Has anyone else been having problems? I've even tried a completely fresh install of the TBM but with no luck.
  3. You could use wideviewaspect=true in fsx.cfg and then set your zoom to 1.0. I find this to be the most realistic zoom setting. Here is a link to a video that explains it:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjbCFNSofpk Hope this helps!
  4. Ah the CDI is what I was missing, thanks Bert!
  5. Hi everyone, I'm having trouble figuring out how to set up the ILS in this bird. I get the correct ILS freq from the airport page on the MFD and put it into the NAV 1 box on the PFD but when I come to do my approach I see no indication of the localizer being intercepted on finals. I'm sure I'm missing a very simple step here and if anyone could point it out I would appreciate it!!! Cheers
  6. Hi everyone, this may seem like a strange and unnecessary request but I like my sim to be as realistic as possible! Anyway, I was just watching the video posted in this thread: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/408402-rw-start-up-vid/ and I noticed that the G1000 actually takes a lot longer to boot up and align itself in real life than it does in the sim currently. I am wondering if there is a value in the files anywhere that I can change to get a more realistic start up time? Again, I know this may sound strange, but the current start up time is way too quick (especially the MFD!).
  7. Sorry I forgot to include that, no it doesn't go on here either.
  8. The ignition switch is working correctly for me also, only the Aux BP is being problematic.
  9. I also would like to note that I did a fresh install of mine into P3D (just bought it and am in the process of switching over) so there is no chance of leftover files messing with anything.
  10. Thanks for the reply, I'm flying now so will have to have a play with the config once I land
  11. Same here, BP and INERT SEP light still on for me too.
  12. Hi all, I am wondering how I can go about editing the G1000's default settings? I have found the config file in the TBM850_G1000.Cab and extracted it and edited it but now I can't re-add it to the .Cab file. Is there any special software I need?
  13. Is there anyway to modify how much power is required when taxiing this thing on the ground? As was said on the previous page, in the real aircraft (haven't flown a TBM but have flown a Piper Meridian and this is what happens) you should need to pull back into beta just to keep it taxiing at a safe speed (currently you need ~50% torque just to get moving).
  14. Anyone know if Carenado modelled the weather radar?
  15. Nah I just like to plan ahead :) Thanks for your help, I'll definitely check it out!
  16. Hi guys I'm not sure if this is the right section but anyway, Does anyone know if there is any scenery (preferably pay-ware) available for southwest France, more specifically Tarbes and Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrenees Airport (LFBT)? I'm planning on flying there to pick up Carenado's upcoming TBM850 when it is released and would like the scenery to look as good as possible lol! Thanks.
  17. Hhmmm.... This isn't making any sense. As I said before, when I am at NZPP (I'm sure it's the same at many more locations too.), the battery AND avionics switches are required to be on in order for the PFD to start, as you would expect; but when I'm at 0S9, the avionics switch has no effect on the PFD whatsoever, and it is the battery alone that controls it. The only variable I can see in this problem is the location. Would it be possible for there to be a stray line of code in my files that would be causing this? If so, where would I look to find out? I'm totally confused lol!
  18. Just noticed something relating to the PFD turning on as soon as the battery is switched on (and the Radio master switch is OFF): When I start a flight at NZPP (My home airport in New Zealand), the radio master switch works as intended: The PFD remains off until the radio master switch is set to the ON position, even when the battery is ON. However, if I start a flight at ORBX's 0S9 Jefferson County, the Radio master switch no longer works for the PFD (which comes on when the battery is switched on, regardless of the radio master switch's position). Does anyone have any idea why my in-game location affects the radio master switch like this?
  19. Would it be possible for someone to make a quick mod that just animates the prop spinning when the starter is pressed?
  20. A friend of mine owns a Piper Meridian and this is what he does. And Lifeguard911, I was actually just about to embed that exact video until I saw your post! That is exactly what I meant. So, does anyone know if this is possible in FSX? It's only a small detail but I think it's important nonetheless. Maybe Carenado will be able to implement it in their upcoming TBM 850?
  21. Hello everyone, I have a question about starting up the Jetprop. IRL when the starter is pressed and you begin to hear everything spooling up (before fuel is introduced), shouldn't the prop begin to turn? I know IRL pilots do this to suck air into the engine to lower the ITT before igniting it to avoid a hot start (at least, they do it in the Piper Meridian). Or is this a limitation of FSX? If anyone knows how this could be achieved it would be much appreciated.
  22. Hi everyone I have been wondering this for a while, does anyone know what scenery Carenado use in their screenshots? More specifically the more recent ones like the C182T ones.
  23. Hmmm... I seem to remember the switches working as intended in the past... However it is no big deal and I will just have to deal with it! Thanks for your help Bert!
  24. Thanks Bert, that sorted it! What a rookie mistake! Any idea why both GNS's(?) work without the battery needing to be on? Also the PFD doesn't react to the radio master switch being turned off. Thanks once again.
