  1. Has anyone else tried this on other ATI HD series cards? I've got an HD5770, so if this works on other cards, I'll be willing to forgive the fact that ATI drivers can produce jaggies on 2D panels if I'd get some free performance :).
  2. Thanks for the comments everyone :). The last time I was up there was 24 November, and it was still possible to get up to the area near the emergency gate, but I have no idea if it's been closed since as the weather hasn't been the best for going spotting. I really hope it stays open, as it's not a bad place for spotting.Dave.
  3. Lol, no problem :). I really should try flying with the VCs, but I do like my 2D panels, mainly for the increased performance. Thanks, I tried that out - it does indeed get rid of the issue, but unfortunately, the whole screen becomes a little blurry, making all the displays hard to read. Back to square one for me!
  4. You'd think that, but I've got the same card you have, an HD5770, and I'm using the latest drivers, 10.12 I believe, installed yesterday, and I have the same problem. What drivers are you using, as if they are different, I might try them out to see what happens.Edit: what resolution are you using? I'm at 1440x900. And are you using DX10?Dave.
  5. Shame :(. I'll put up with it for now as I'm not sure it really warrants paying the £/$ for a new video card. Mind you, a GTX460 would be a reasonable upgrade... must resist!
  6. I've got a similar problem - it's not that noticeable on the PMDG 747, but is more noticeable on the Qualitywings 757 that I also have. As dmwalker said, I believe it's an issue with ATI cards - I'm using an HD5770. I've tried various drivers without success. Also, as jkowalski801 said, it goes away if you use DX10 preview mode, but in my opinion, that opens up other issues such as the notorious flashing runway/taxiway textures. Personally, I don't find it that big a deal, so I live with it - of course it would be great if ATI released a driver that fixed it, but for now, I'll put up with it.Regards,Dave.
  7. Thanks for the replies so far.I hadn't come across vasFMC before, so I just had a quick look, and it looks very promising. It seems to be pretty much what I'm after (i.e. offering the FMC and autopilot without having to worry about all the more advanced systems), and it appears to be tuned to work with the Project Airbus planes... Interesting...I'll keep an eye on the FSL version as it develops as well.Regards,Dave.
  8. I would like to get an Airbus A320 to add to my fleet in FSX. So far I've looked at the Project Airbus + Ken Mitchell panel, the Wilco version, and the Just Flight F-Lite version.PA / Ken Mitchell version:Pro - freeCon - not sure how realistic the panel / FMC are (or whatever Airbus calls the FMC)Wilco versionTo be honest, I don't know much about this version.Just Flight F-LiteI believe this has a reasonable model of the panel / FMC. The exterior looks OK to me, how accurate is it?I'm currently leaning towards the Just Flight version, as it sounds like it's not too intensive, but has enough systems modelling to keep me, a system novice, going for a while. So, I'd love to hear opinions on the different options, especially the quality of the visual model, and the quality / depth of the systems, panel, FMC etc. Thanks,Dave,
  9. I had the emails explain what had happened and what they were doing to sort the issues out - top marks to them for good customer service. I'll have another go at purchasing later this morning.
  10. Log in to your account at the Iris store, check under 'My Account', there's a section at the top of the page called 'Overview', or you could look in the 'My Orders' section. Hope that helps. I've had an email (I guess the same was sent out to everyone that's got outstanding orders) stating basically the same things as on the SIm Out House page, so fingers crossed it'll all get sorted out soon.Dave.
  11. Same problem for me. Don't try to pay for them a second time, as it will result in multiple orders for the same thing. I've emailed them to request that one is cancelled, as for some reason I can't see an option to cancel one myself. Here's hoping it gets sorted rather than just processed through automatically and charged twice.
  12. Thanks for that, it's good to hear from people that have experience with them all. I'd been looking on the vendors' web sites, and they all look good - to be honest, I can't really see why people say the Level D doesn't look as good as the others, maybe it'd be more apparent once actually in the sim, but to me it still looks good. And the bonus of being better on FPS is always welcome.I've also been looking at the Qualitywings 757 (I know, it's not a 767 but bear with me) - it looks very nice and has a good set of features that are appealing to me - different versions, different versions of avionics in the cockpit, FMS with the main key features, slightly simplified systems, widescreen friendly 2D panel, ability to use FSX flight planner whilst also able to use SIDS/STARS etc. Maybe I'll get that, familiarise myself with using the flight systems, and then move on to the Level D for more systems and detail.Dave.
  13. I'm thinking about the same thing, and can't decide on which 767 to go for. There's a third option to confuse things, the CLS 767.Several people have said that the Level D doesn't look as good as the CS for example - does anyone have any comparison pics showing them (or even all three)? Thanks,Dave.
  14. I went to do my first plane spotting session today, at London Luton, my closest airport. It's mostly Easy Jet and Ryan Air, but a few other airlines operate there, as well as numerous business jets. Here are some pics I took:These are my first spotting photos, so not up to airliners.net quality, but I'm happy with them so far. I've got a lot to learn about both technique and my gear.Target for tomorrow - Stansted :).Regards,Dave.
