November 22, 201015 yr I was think about getting a 767 add on for FSX but can't decide which one to get. I've narrowed it down to 2 options. The Level-D 767 or the Aerosoft 767 Captain Sim.Could someone please tell me the good and bad points for both. I have a relatively good system so could you mention about the frame rates. Thanks
November 22, 201015 yr If you want ultimate realism, all systems working like in the real airplane, buy Level-D. If you don't care about so realistic aircraft, and want simplified but better graphics, get Captain Sim's 767.
November 22, 201015 yr level d. great customer support (although so does aerosoft), much more realism and excellent if you have hardware that can be interfaced! Although the captain sim looks more aesthetically pleasing, level d has the realism and systems ;) Regards, Philip Lodge PC specs; Windows 7 64 bit home premium, Asus P6X58D-E, Intel core i7 930 @ 4.0 GHz, Corsair XMS3 6GB DDR3 1600MHz triple channel RAM, POV GTX 470, 500gb HDD + 250gb FS HDD, 24" 1920 x 1200, 19" 1280 x 1024 GoFlight MCPPro, VRInsight CDU II, Saitek Pro Flight Radio Panel. November 22, 201015 yr I'm thinking about the same thing, and can't decide on which 767 to go for. There's a third option to confuse things, the CLS 767.Several people have said that the Level D doesn't look as good as the CS for example - does anyone have any comparison pics showing them (or even all three)? Thanks,Dave.

November 22, 201015 yr Level-D! Have it and the CS757, no comparison. Everything has worked on the 767 since the day I installed it, can't say the same for the 757. Been a pain in the butt and I don't bother with it anymore because it feels like half speed and the sound puts me to sleep. And CLS shouldn't be in the conversation, its a souped up default airplane...
November 22, 201015 yr The Level-D was the first add-on aircraft I bought for FSX and despite handing out lots of money since on other aircraft, I remain convinced it has been the best buy all round. As a comparison I have the CS 757 and while it sure looks pretty, I haven't found it as reliable or pleasureable to fly as the level-d. Not that the CS is a bad apple, I just found the level-d easier to fly and with reasonable framerates on my mediocre machine. My flying skills aren't great, but the level-d does everything I need and just works. Its as complex as you want it to be, a great jack of all trades. The VC and 2d panels do the job, some would say that it is perhaps looking a little lack-lustre compared to 'newer' releases, but it is not bad. I'd rather have a good solid performance than an eye-catching jewel which doesn't quite hack its primary purpose, ie fly well. If I had not bought the level-d, my inclination today would probably be the QW 757 package. From what I've seen, it offers lots of models, good performance and pretty looks. Could do worse than download the manuals from your shortlist and get a feel for whats on offer. Gerard Marley
November 23, 201015 yr There's a third option to confuse things, the CLS 767.Dave.Actually, there's also a fourth option to confuse things even further: http://www.aerosim.co.jp/eigo/a-product_e/fsx_e/b767300fsx_e/b767300fsx_ss_e.htmBut, that's pretty light on systems, however, as with most of their FSX birds, it can be made fairly good with ISG gauges and some other stuff forced into those cockpit gauge slots. All the Aerosim birds I have get very good FPS and the models are good, but it's pricey considering it is a 'lite' sim.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
November 23, 201015 yr The CLS 767 is definitely the last resort for me. While I do agree with you guys about LVLD's model, the reason why I'm extremely reluctant in using it is all because I have such a weak computer. Yes, I also realize that the Overland 767 is definitely "pants", but it's still worth the disk space since it's very FPS friendly. The CS 767 is such a resource and FPS hog, thanks to its features. Also, the Aerosim 767 will never be a primary choice for me, since the model itself does not have any repaints. Dave. November 23, 201015 yr I'm for Captain Sim's 767. It is rather good after 3 SPs and better then old one from LVLD Regards,Stan
November 23, 201015 yr Just to add my 2 cents. I would go with the Level-D.Flies very very well and is less of a resource hog than the CS. VATSIM: P2 | I1

November 23, 201015 yr the CS aircraft dont fly? :( No, seriously... they do fly but are a huge resource hog in comparison to Level-D and really not better in systems simulation. For me, I can fly into EGLL (UK2000) with LVD without problems, all is smooth... if I do it with CS.. well, no so smooth, mildly said. Tomaz Drnovsek My FSX Videos My AVSIM Gallery
