November 24, 201015 yr I have Level-D, Capt. Sim, and CLS.All 3 are fabulous. Captain has a bit better texture (barely). For realism of flight I prefer Level-D 1st, CLS 2nd, and Captain Sim 3rd.No matter which you pick you will love it. Just google CS, QW, and LvLD .. all the sites have screen shots for comparison....

I'd been looking on the vendors' web sites, and they all look good - to be honest, I can't really see why people say the Level D doesn't look as good as the others, maybe it'd be more apparent once actually in the sim, but to me it still looks good. And the bonus of being better on FPS is always welcome.I've also been looking at the Qualitywings 757 (I know, it's not a 767 but bear with me) - it looks very nice and has a good set of features that are appealing to me - different versions, different versions of avionics in the cockpit, FMS with the main key features, slightly simplified systems, widescreen friendly 2D panel, ability to use FSX flight planner whilst also able to use SIDS/STARS etc. Maybe I'll get that, familiarise myself with using the flight systems, and then move on to the Level D for more systems and detail.Dave.

November 24, 201015 yr If you want to fly it.. Level-D. If you want to look at it.. CS.This is my very problem after years of watching and waiting for new releases. I spend more time looking at my addons and less time flying them.I would also consider modding your sound for each different engine. CS gives you RR, PW, and GE modeling and flight dynamics. I only have the CS version and have also considered buying CLS.Keith Keith Guillory
November 25, 201015 yr I always hear people saying how good the LevelD plane is in regards to system modelling. While it might be pretty good, there are certain parts on the captain sim that is more realistic when it comes to systems. I do think that the majority of the systems are more realistic in the LvlD tho
November 25, 201015 yr Level-D, no contest.Absolutely (if you have the right computer)! I've always had an interest with the Level-D model since the FS2Crew module for it came out. The PMDG 747 was always a second option, a legendary 747 add-on if you ask me. While this is true, I do not have the time to learn manuals, simply because of school relations and such. Dave. November 25, 201015 yr Commercial Member Thanks for the referral, one and all. The Level-D 767 graphics are definitely "old school" when you compare them to products that were released 5 years after the Level-D 767 was released. Expect to see major graphical improvements with the Level-D 757 (I know, it's been 5 years since that was announced, but quality takes time). COMMERCIAL TIME...As a little gift for our loyal (and patient :() registered customers, a free Winglet Update for the Level-D 767 (FS9 and FSX versions) will be released very soon (before Christmas 2010).See the Official Level-D Simulations Forum for details... November 25, 201015 yr I was think about getting a 767 add on for FSX but can't decide which one to get. I've narrowed it down to 2 options. The Level-D 767 or the Aerosoft 767 Captain Sim.Could someone please tell me the good and bad points for both. I have a relatively good system so could you mention about the frame rates.ThanksDespite it being older on graphics, if you are looking for a bird to fly as in real life, take the Level-D! November 25, 201015 yr Despite it being older on graphics, if you are looking for a bird to fly as in real life, take the Level-D!Are you a B767 pilot? .. Just curious. If you have real world flight experience in this bird .. what an endorsement.
November 25, 201015 yr Despite it being older on graphics, if you are looking for a bird to fly as in real life, take the Level-D!I just wanted to add my two cents. The LDS 767 has been around and done at first by a REAL 767 pilot. The current development team, are just great and do an excellent job. Yes the graphics may not be the same as some later planes, but NONE have systems and flight dynamics as well done as the LDS 767. I fly ALL my flights on this excellent bird. There is little equal to this great addon. IMHOBob
November 26, 201015 yr Are you a B767 pilot? .. Just curious. If you have real world flight experience in this bird .. what an endorsement. The Level D plane dates back to FS2000 - it was first developed as a freeware panel by a real 767 driver who wanted a training aid - it has developed into the plane we fly today. I've met the pilot - at the Seattle AVSIM conference. Nice guy. The Level D works well - all of it. The captain sim stuff mostly works. I have the 757 and rarely fly it. The FMC is quircky esp when it decides it doesn't want to load waypoints from a STAR. I have not tried conditional way point programming but the Level D does it just like the real thing. The CS plane is resource intensive and there is now way to turn off the cabin, which is a huge waste of polygons in my book. The CS plane brings my system to its knees on final into any large airport - and I have a good system (i7 overclocked to 3.8, 6 gigs ram etc). Buy the Level D - it holds up well despite its age.
