  1. I've noticed a couple of small points which, if confirmed, might be for consideration in any future tweak. Firstly I suspect that the main panel OAT gauge is actually reading TAT. Also the OAT reading on the transponder seems to be truncated, maybe a font issue. It read -01 when TAT was actually -15. Observed during a flight using FSXA. Small points with what is otherwise a really nice aircraft to fly. Very happy with it.
  2. I run a q6600, albeit overclocked to 3.1mhz. FSX performance is ok except for complex payware airports and/or lots of AI. I'd recommend adding more memory, bring it up to at least 4gb, I upgraded mine to 8gb and installed win7/64 - going 64bit made a big improvement in stablility and has added a couple of years to the life of the machine. Overclocking is worthwhile as it is essentially a free performance boost, just watch the temperatures and keep the PC clean and dust free. Used memory can be found quite cheaply on ebay. I did change my original ATI 4650 graphics to a Nvidia GTX460 and think this is about as far as it is worth going with such a system. So in summary, overclock your cpu, add more memory, use win7/64 and keep your fsx settings modest
  3. Yes, I also wondered about these strange paths, and also assumed they were an anti-theft measure. Not a very clever idea though as there isn't an un-install programme provided for the Learjet.
  4. Thanks for recognising the problem Dean. Looking at the photoscenery files, I believe the underlying imagery is ok, it just seems that the mask has been over generously applied and allowing the default to bleed through. This is evident by how the default scenery is graduated in visibility as per the mask density. Lets hoping a quick fix if possible to what otherwise is a decent and good value rendition of my home area.
  5. That's exactly the same as I have, very disappointing to have such a large and significant area borked.
  6. Had the same problem, which I fixed by changing the appropriate window size in panel.cfg to 400*700 (original was 400*600). size_mm=400,700 gauge00=PMDG_737NG_Main!CDU, 0,0,400,700,L
  7. Flies great, excellent systems simulation, lots of very nice liveries, comprehensive documentation, definitely worth consideration. The overhead graphics are flat, but everything works. So if you value the flying experience more than the cosmetics (and the cockpit graphics are still very usable), highly recommended.
  8. Thanks Jonathan, working fine ! Gerard
  9. Hi Jonathan, Sorry no go, still get "..... invalid Win32 program"
  10. Hi Jonathan, I agree its really frustrating to have these types of problem. I use Visual Studio 2010, though primarily with VB and don't have a problem just copying and running the .exe file - providing it has been compiled to use one of the .net versions installed on my PC. Might be worth checking the compile settings and the target framework. I think the express editions have fewer deployment options than the full blown product, but I dont think you can be far off getting it to work, so its worth perservering Tks
  11. The FMC in the J41 is not nearly as sophisticated as those fitted to its bigger brothers and often has difficulty flying SID's, at least those I frequently fly in the UK. The FMC doesn't consistently process the Navigraph descriptions well and the results can be unpredictable. I did raise a problem report with PMDG some time ago about this issue and the response was essentially not to expect too much and to fly the SIDs by hand using conventional navigation aids as is the case in most real world operations. So that's what I do and it works ok.
  12. Sorry error message when run "..... not a valid Win32 Application" I use WinXp Sp3 with .net V4/ V3.5/ V3/ V2 installed Any idea what the problem might be?
  13. With my fairly low end PC ( by current standards), I find the Legacy is ok. FPS in the air is low 20's and drops to about 16 when at a complex airport. On my system I have found that running with FSP set to unlimited gives a better overall level of performance than locking it lower, eg 20. I reckon you should be fine, its a great model.
  14. This looks great; promises nice graphics with good depth of simulation , looking forward immensely to its release. I've enjoyed flying the ATR-72 and this Dash will be a fantastic turboprop addition to FSX, I'll be purchasing on day one for sure
  15. Having recently bought the BN2 Islander, I've also been looking at routes for it.... In Scotland Loganair fly the BN2 Islander between Kirkwall and the Orkney Islands, eg Stronsay, North Ronaldsay, Westray, Papa Westray, Sandy and Eday. You can get details here: http://info.flightmapper.net/airline/LOG The only scenery I am aware of is the GEN-X photographic scenery Vol5 covering Orkney and the Shetlands. I dont think BA operate any Islanders under their own livery, in Scotland, Loganair are the francise operators for FlyBE and BA.
