FSX Default Traffic won't go away?
dunkelwald replied to NGXfanatic's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Hi 767 fan,you simply have to rename the file 'trafficAircraft.bgl' into 'trafficAircraft.bgl.passive' and the default traffic is gone for good. This file is located by default under C/Microsoft Games/FSX/scenery/World/scenery.Hope it helpsDunkelwald -
Just as my foreposters said, I have also both simulators on the same HD, running Vista Home Premium 64 and there was never any problem. However, at least under Vista you must have administrator rights in order to be able to install add-ons correctly. Also it turned out that it is wise to install FS9 NOT in the usual location (normally C/program files/Microsoft Games/FS9) but instead anywhere else (at least not under program files) for installing all add-on's correctly. With FSX you can install at the default C/..../Microsoft Games/FSX with no problems at all. At least these are my experiences and observations under Vista 64 over the last 2 years. Hope it helpsDunkelwald

atc scrolling text - how do I get rid of it
dunkelwald replied to briansommers's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Or go to this website and load the very useful 'Flusifix' program which deals with many small and big problems of FS9 and FSX (of course with all the annoying text messages too). Just make sure you load the 2006-version of the program (just look to the right of the page where the 'union jack' flag is, there is the download of the FSX version for english users). I use this program since FS9 and it is absolutely great!Dunkelwald -
Wilbert, from what I have learned and experienced by myself it's always good to save a situation (no matter where) in the default glider. If you saved the situation 'cold and dark' with the glider (which I think kind of 'initializes' many a/c-related parameters during start up of the simulator when saved as standard situation) and if you then switch in the preview screen to the a/c of your choice and then load the situation you should always have this cold and dark setting you have saved before. In my understanding it has nothing to do with the location/airport but rather with the a/c used while saving the situation. The more complex add-on a/c you use while saving a situation the more problems could arise when loading it next time. Somewhere (if I remember correctly) I have read that during startup of the simulator around 28 parameters only a/c related were loaded and when you use a complex a/c instead of one of the default MS a/c the simulator sometimes messes up with these parameters - thus not showing you for example your cold and dark cockpit. My default situation is saved with the glider and I never had any problems.Dunkelwald

FS2004 Archer II VC visibility problem!
dunkelwald replied to Senecaflyer's topic in Carenado General Forum
as far as I know this problem is already fixed by Carenado. Just download from your link provided by Carenado after your purchase (Email). It was the same with the Seneca and was fixed too. -
Wow, good job!! :( Thank you very much, with the landing light working and no more visibility problems, the Seneca is absolutely perfect! Excellent support as usual, again many thanks for the patch! :( Now it's time for some more night flights... :(

I still hope that there will be some kind of visibility patch for this wonderful plane. It's sometimes a challenge to fly in low vis with the blanket out cockpit screen... :(
