2 gb vs 4 gb Video Card for P3D
darthranger replied to darthranger's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcWhat's your refresh rate running 3 monitors though the GPU ? I've been running 3 monitors through a Matrox TH2Go since long before GPU's supported it... but one of the downsides is the limited Refresh Rate

2 gb vs 4 gb Video Card for P3D
I'm considering upgrading from a 2gb GPU to a 4gb GPU to take advantage of the potential for P3D to off-load on to the GPU from the CPU. Just wondering if anyone has upgraded and noticed any significant improvement in performance vs the $400 cost ??

.dll 'ghost' In The P3D Machine
I also posted this in The CTD Forum in hopes of finding an answer... I have been running P3D V2 exclusively for some time now, and all was well until recently... P3D has started to CTD about 10 minutes into a flight. Faulting module: clr.dll, version 4.030319 Faulting module path: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.319\clr.dll Faulting application path: D:\Lockheed Martin\P3Dv2\P3d.exe P3D forum says this is NOT a P3D issue, but rather a Microsoft issue. Microsoft Support says: "Faulting Module name clr.dll when you run .NET Framework based application" "CAUSE: The issue occurs because an object that is being referenced is dereferenced by the collector in common language runtime 4 (CLR4). Therefore, an access violation occurs during garbage collection or when the application tries to access the released object" I'm hoping someone here that has more computer 'Savy' than me can explain what the heck they're talking about... and/or how to fix this. P.S. Microsoft says that there was a Hotfix for this in 2011... but I would think that was dalt with in updates. (I have .NET Framework 4.5.1 installed) Rick / Canada

Aerosoft Beaver X
Just curious... if anyone else who loves this aircraft as much as I do... has it working in V2 ? If so... please share... how did you do it ? I have the replacement ASC.dll file from the Aerosoft Forum guys to fix the missing guages, but the Beaver installer doesn't recognize the P3D file path (apparently a registry file issue) Estonia Migration Tool vs Manual Install... appear to be the only options if I can't trick the installer somehow. Have a Safe & Happy Holiday Season !

Weird ATC Sound Issue
Thanks for sharing your thoughts ! As everything else is set the way it should be in "Settings"... I suspect that it's an issue with the FSX 'voice channel' and my 7.1 speaker set-up, as Bjoern suggested.

Weird ATC Sound Issue
After an extensive Web Forum search I've been unable to find a cause and solution... so I thought I'd try a post here. My FSX ATC sound is not working in VC. The green text bar scrolls and the speaker level indicator shows activity... but no voice comes through. If I switch to 'Outside View' or open outside view in a New View window... voila... there's the ATC voice. I can close the New View window and the ATC voice will be on in the VC now... until the next time it cuts out. I have P3D v2 loaded on a separate SSD and the ATC voice is doing the same thing as in FSX. ???? Rick / Canada

Go-Flight GF-MCP & Prepar3d V2 Problem
FYI... Mine is working now that I put a shortcut to the module on the desktop and start it before before starting P3D. It doesn't seem to start automatically in P3D like it does in FSX and I couldn't get it to start after P3D was running ?

DX10 with TH2GO
Before I take the DX10 'Plunge'... I was wondering if anyone that has changed over to DX10 is running a 3-monitor setup using TH2GO ? From what I've read so far there seems to be a bit of an issue running in 'Windowed' mode + that's what I need for my TH2GO set-up. Rick / Canada I5 3570K @ 3.8 Gig. 660TI

Help to remove 'Ghost' in my GoFlight MCP - Advanced
Thanks again jahman...For steering back in the right direction... ie: 'power' to the MCP unitSwitched the power option in the Control Panel back to "High Performance" and the MCP 'Ghost' is gone ! Also thanks to steveo...I did some research on L.I.N.D.A. and It appears to be a 'no-brainer' solution to get my PMDG J-41 working with GoFlight modules. You Guys are the BEST !!Rick / Canada

Help to remove 'Ghost' in my GoFlight MCP - Advanced
Thanks for the thoughts jahman !That explanation makes a lot of sense considering what it's doing.I'm already running all the modules off a Belkin powered hub.I was thinking it might be a "power issue"... but didn't think it was relevant because of the HUB.However... I was playing with my power options in Control Panel to set my monitor off time and I think I inadvertently switched it from "High Performance" to a lower plan.Do you know if that would that have an affect on the power through the USB hub ???

Help to remove 'Ghost' in my GoFlight MCP - Advanced
Appreciate your reply Steveo...But I'm afraid you're obviously more experienced than I am...I'm not familiar with and have no idea what "LINDA" is... so I don't think that's the issue. Also, not sure how to check for "MCP LUA scripts" running...Perhaps you could provide some additional information. Thanks !!!!!

Help to remove 'Ghost' in my GoFlight MCP - Advanced
Have posted this on thwe GoFlight forum... but perhaps someone here has encountered this problem:I have been running (6) GoFlight modules and a TQ6 for quite some time without any issues until now....Out of the blue my MCP started to cycle through all displays and shut down when a flight is loaded. It initializes fine and all displays / lights work when FSX is started... but then it cycles off when a flight is loaded. (same issue with both Default and add-on A/C)I can get the CRS + HDG functions to work after that... but not the ALT setting....It just wants to keep cycling itself off.All my other modules are working fine. Only new addition is Accu-Feel, but other users on the A2A forum are running GoFlight modules without any issues.Renamed the (2) A2A .dll files to see if there was a conflict... but still have the same 'Ghost'Any thoughts would be appreciated.Rick / Canada

Thanks for the response...Looked... but file mcpproj41ap.zip is apparently no longer in the library.

Go-Flight Modules + the J-41
Have the GF-LGT and GF-MCP modules... + a couple of issues with this A/C model1. The HDG setting dial on the module does not move the heading bug in the sim... but the setting dial in the sim does register the value on the module... wierd ??2. Similar issue with the Alt setting dial on the module except that the sim dial does not change the value in the module.CRS + Vert. Speed functions work fine between the module and the sim. Also, the Trim, Gear, + Flap functions on the LGT module all work fine within the sim.PS: Is there a 'switch' to have the autopilot track the GPS course ??Great A/C !!!Rick Lechow
