  1. I for one miss the sounds of the DC-8, stupid noise regulations! If you don't want to hear it, don't buy a house near the airport. I remember watching planes land at Stapleton in Denver and loved the high pitched almost whistle of those four jets as they flew over us on final. I have been looking for a FSX DC-8 for a while. Going to have to get this one.
  2. Before you buy a new AMD CPU, you might try overclocking your Athlon if you feel comfortable doing it. That way you would see a performance increase with no cost, and start saving for the intel conversion. I have the 965BE that is overclocked to 4.2 and while it doesnt allow me to put all the sliders on high, I can still run with decent frame rates, and very little stuttering even with complex aircraft and scenery. Overclocking will be the biggest bang for the buck. CPU frquency does make a difference with FSX.
  3. Hi, I did a search and didnt find anything so I thought I would just start a topic and ask the question. I currently have FSX with the following add ons. PFE Deluxe, FDC Live cockpit, and ASE. The question is what is the startup order that others are doing for all the addon programs that stay running while using FSX? Sometimes I manage to start everything the first time and it all goes right, other times, I end up starting up everything then shutting stuff off to get it all running together correctly. Thanks for your input. Brian
  4. I know that the plane is dated, but I recently watched Strategic Air Command, and deciede I had to have a B-47, so I am way behind the curve. So I bought the Virtavia version and although the plane looks great, when flying if the pitch is zero, the plane is climbing. It seems that it wont fly level unless the pitch is about 5-10 degrees down. Does anyone have any ideas or a fix for this? I dont like flying looking down all the time. Thanks Brian
  5. To be honest, this is my first posting in the forums. I dont understand most of the posts in this thread. The flight sim community is small, and getting smaller by the week. Microsoft is out of it, combat flight sims have gone down to a trickle of about 1 or two a year. So when a developer comes out with a new product, what do we read here? "Its too simple, there is already others that make that plane so why did they make this? , or, its for the wrong sim". I am happy when any new product comes out, because as long as a company is willing to take the chance that they can make a profit with a flight sim that means that I get to enjoy my hobby. The time to start complaining is when they stop coming out with addons. Just my opinion - now continue the arguements. :( Brian
