DSR Impact
I just started experimenting with DSR setting and seem to have found a sweet spot at 2X and 33% smoothing. I've seem some real improvements with visual quality and performance with DSR but wonder what the impact or negatives are to utilizing DSR? Is their an impact on VAS? What about GPU and CPU? Will my GPU run warmer at higher DSR settings? Thanks, James

AI Traffic for P3D v3
Hello, Can anyone suggest a good AI traffic program for P3D v3 that does not kill frames, works well in P3D and with vPilot? I also prefer to stay away from a long, tedious, and complicated installation process as well. I used WOAI for awhile, however it is a native FS9 and FSX program and the liveries are a bit outdated. Thanks, James

Annunciator Lights SP1d
My start-up process is as follows: 1. Boot FSX at the departure airport gate with the Trike and engines running 2. Launch FSInn 3. Load PMDG NGX and let it complete the initialization process 4. Load Cold & Dark panel and let it complete the initialization process Is there something else I need to do? Thanks, James

Annunciator Lights SP1d
Hello, After installing SP1d the FUEL and ANTI-ICE annunciators stay illuminated after engine start and will not extinguish. 1. I uninstalled/reinstalled the product step-by-step as suggested by Kyle 2. All necessary fuel pumps were turned on 3. The weather conditions at the departure airport were 00000KT 10SM BKN250 06/M01 A3021 (so no icing conditions) 4. Window heat was turned on 5. Pitot heat was turned on 6. Turning on Anti-ice equipment had no effect 7. Failures are turned off Any suggestions? Is this a bug? Should I trying a new download and reinstall? Thank you, James Castonguay

PMDG 737NGX Slowly Drifts Off-Course with LNAV Enabled
I have FSInn weather turned off. I do not regularly visit the PMDG Operations Center which means I may have installed an update from a month or two ago recently. Have there been NGX updates other than the migration to the Operations Center that could be causing this? Also, is it generally OK to accept and install the updates directly from the operations center as I am aware that there can be an order of doing things like when the SP for the 777 was rolled out. I know this is a weird issue and there may not be a solution as this appears to be isolated to just me. I'll keep troubleshooting on my end and report back if necessary. Thanks Kyle!

PMDG 737NGX Slowly Drifts Off-Course with LNAV Enabled
I thought of that too...the controls all appear to be fine. This issue is not a problem with the PMDG 777.

PMDG 737NGX Slowly Drifts Off-Course with LNAV Enabled
Hello, Recently, and by recently I mean within the last week, the 737NGX slowly drifts off the magenta line to the left only when LNAV is engaged. The MFD displays L0.2, L0.3, L0.4, and so on until about L0.9 and then the aircraft makes a hard right turn to get back on course. I've tried to correct this manually by using Heading Select to put the aircraft back on course and then re-engage LNAV. Once LNAV is re-engaged the aircraft slowly drifts back off-course to the left again. This does not happen all the time and this was never a problem prior to a week ago. The only thing I have changed with my sim in the last week was to accept a 737NGX update through the PMDG Operations Center. Any thoughts? Should I complete an uninstall/reinstall? Thanks, James Castonguay

Is it any good?: FS Flight Keeper
Hello, I've been thinking about purchasing this for a while but have concerns about the gauge? How does it work? Does it embed itself in your add-on aircraft, and, if so, what is the effect on the aircraft itself? Can it be removed and essentially wiped clean? FSX is very quirky and I'm terrified this program may negatively affect my aircraft add-ons and overall FSX performance. I will mainly use this as a record keeping device and to review my flights with the multitude of information the ACARS portion generates. Also, what is the effect on performance? Is it any different than a VA ACARS program? James

PMDG 737NGX/777 and FSInn
PMDG, A few of us seem to have encountered a problem tyring to connect to FSInn within FSX when flying the 737NGX and 777. See here for more details: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/421555-pmdg-777-fsinn/. This does not appear to affect all PMDG/FSInn users so an exact solution does not seem possible nor am I asking for one. As a workaround, many users simply have loaded a default FSX aircraft, connected to FSInn and then loaded the PMDG 737NGX or the 777. Your manuals say this is a no-no, therefore I was just wondering what, if anything may be affected (is there a performance hit, are the systems affected, etc...) if this work around is used? Thanks, James Sorry everyone, I have no idea why this posted 4 times.

PMDG 737NGX RNAV Procedures
I never do autolands...what's the fun in that? I just want the flight director/HUGS for guidance when flying manually.

PMDG 737NGX RNAV Procedures
I typically manually fly all approaches by following the flight director to the ground. I control speed with the A/T using SPD INTV but leave the A/T connected as it will shut off by itself once the mains touch the ground (I think this is only available on ILS approaches though...not sure). Leaving the A/T connected ensures the aircraft maintains Vref + 5 through touchdown. I started flying RNAV approaches recently but don't seem to have the perfected just yet. SPD INTV does not seem to be available with RNAV approaches unless I'm doing something wrong. Thanks, James

PMDG 737NGX RNAV Procedures
Hello, Can someone chime in and provide me with a "how to" or "tutorial" on flying an RNAV approach in the PMDG 737NGX? Is it as easy selecting an RNAV approach within the FMC and then selecting the APP button prior to crossing the would be localizer? I believe this procedure only works for IAN integrated approaches. If IAN is not integrated then a LNAV/VNAV coupled approached is required correct? With either case, how is speed controlled? Does the speed need to be programmed into the FMC as well or can you select the SPD button and control it yourself? Also, will the speed automatically "click off" once the wheels touch the ground like with a normal ILS approach? Thanks, James

Orbx NA Regions and OOM
Hello, I have Orbx PNW and am thinking about adding the remaining NA regions to my scenery library (Northern Rockies, Central Rockies, and Pacific Pfords). If I have all four active at the same time, how likely will I receive an OOM error? Does anyone else have all four? Please see specs to the right. Thanks, James

FSDreamteam CYVR Vancouver is out!
So far so good for me. I feel like one of the lucky ones. With the PMDG NGX, Orbx PNW and FSDT CYVR my frames are still very close to 30 and my system is really just average. I have yet to test this on-line or with AI traffic. With all of this I'm still hesitant to click the "purchase" button. Normal Graphics Card Temp
I am just curious what the noraml temperature range is for graphics cards when running FSX? When flying over ORBX PNW my temperature usually tops out at 58 degrees Celsius (GTX670). My old card (GTX465) ran much hotter at around 72 (or higher) degrees Celsius. Is 58 in the normal range or is it still running a little warm? I have never had any GPU problems so I'm sure its fine.

Are these the files? ADE_FTX_PNW_CYVR_Vancouver_Intl.BGL ADE_FTX_PNW_CYVR_Vancouver_Intl_CVX.bgl found in FSX/ORBX/FTX_NA_PNW05_SCENERY/scenery?

PMDG 737NGX High Idle on the ground
I have corrected the problem. When I installed the Aerosoft Airbus X Ext. I adjusted the null values on my flight controls based on the settings in the AXE manual and accidentally adjusted my throttle controls as well. This certainly explains why I could not bring the throttles back to idle. It looks like I've figured out my AXE throttle problem as well. Thanks for your suggestions.

PMDG 737NGX High Idle on the ground
Hello, This is a new problem for me that came out of nowhere. While on the ground my PMDG 737NGX now idles at 30% N1. It used to idle at 22%ish N1. Is it possible that I accidentally changed a setting somehow? Also, is it possible that the installation of the Aerosoft Airbus X Extended caused this somehow? I only mention this because my NGX problem started after I installed the Aerosoft Bus and I also have throttle problems with the Aerosoft Bus as well (this could be another issue altogether). Uninstalling the Aerosoft Bus did not fix my NGX problem. Thoughts? Thanks, James
