Do I have to setup a profile for each individual variant? For some reason this only working with the -700 but not the -800.

I still have FS2004 installed on my system and use it occasionally. The graphics are a bit of an eyesore, but I have so many addons that were never converted to a 64-bit environment so I don't want to give it up. Plus it runs like an absolute dream (obviously it's 16 years old).

Hello,
Is there a way to adjust the callsign that Little Navmap is using? I am using the callsign of "Berry" to simulate a Berry Aviation cargo flight in the simulator, but for some reason Little Navmap has me marked with a "Southwest" callsign instead.

How does FS2020's atc compare to the atc in FSX/P3D? I've heard some clips from FS2020 and it sounds very robotic compared to FSX. I can get past that if the actual ai behavior is improved. I am trying to figure out if it is even worth while using it for offline flying. Using Edit Voicepack made a world of difference with FSX, but obviously that option is not available in FS2020.

Is there a list of control variables available for Carenado aircraft? or is it mostly default FSX controls that are used? In this case I am specifically looking for controls to setup up a Linda profile for the E120.

The 3080 seems like a bargain. Cant wait till its back in stock.

The only cure is going to be to dial back your settings until there's enough headroom to keep both running without "clipping" (hitting 100%) and having to shed work and/or delay frame production.
Trying to push too high a framerate, AI traffic and autogen are the biggest CPU main thread hogs, and GPU gets hit by excessive frame rate demand, dynamic lighting, heavy wx, and SSAA when used together with DL or heavy wx.
Is p3dv5 supposed to heavily rely on 1 core? I have a pretty good CPU, and my FPS is good (35-40 in most situations), its just the persistent stutters that are causing the issue. I posted a couple of screenshots showing my settings below.

7 hours ago, Rogen said:Sounds like you've found your issue as 100% GPU will equal stutters.
You've not mentioned your frame rate or screen mode or vsync settings.
The biggest single difference for my P3D functionality was a 30 Hz capable monitor, came across it by accident when I needed to borrow a monitor.
With a 30 Hz monitor mode I lock my fps to 30 via vsync (while P3D runs as unlimited fps).
But otherwise RTSS or perhaps the vsync options in the NVidia driver, or frame limiter in the NVidia driver / RTSS will assist where there is no 30 Hz mode available.
e.g. if the screen mode is 60 Hz then the half options for vsync in RTSS or the NVidia driver should help with locking frames @ 30 fps via the vsync.
If you want to trial what a vsync feels like on a 60 Hz screen mode, download a set of BlueSky scenery then fly it with vsync on @ 60 Hz, your machine should easily reach the 60 fps required to vsync on 60 Hz screen mode with the BlueSky photoreal scenery.
http://www.blueskyscenery.com/
Also here is an example of vsync @ 30 hz.
My monitor can do 30hz on HDMI, but when I switch to 30hz interlaced the screen gets all fuzzy and jittery for some reason. Frames are around 30-40fps in heavily populated areas (with dips to 15fps during the stutters) and 50-60fps in less populated areas. I used the affinity mask (255) in my cfg, but I don't whether that hurts things or helps in this situation. With regards to RTSS, is it compatible with p3dv5? Because it does help to limit the fps at 30, but I still get the drops anyways.

Turned shadows off on everything except internal and external view and I am still getting the stutters. They are roughly every 5 seconds. GPU usage is pegged at 100% as seen in the screenshot below. CPU usage is 100% on the first core and roughly 20-50% on the remaining 7 cores.

I notice your sig says you're running a GTX 1070 GFX card.
I too have one of those and have found it's very easy to overload the cards capabilities and as a result max it out to 100% use.
When that happens the frame rate drops and stutters result.
To get around being able to have higher quality settings I limit fps to 30 via a 30 hz vsync, this reduces the load on the GPU and therefore allows higher quality settings.
But even still... 4XSSAA, no vegetation shadows (Cast), low refections, low cloud draw distance and a World / Autogen and scenery draw distance of medium/high is about the best I can get out of the card without forcing it into overload, particuarly if the weather and clouds turn heavy (running ASN).
I suggest monitoring your GPU use and see if it is maxing out, mine's an ASUS card and I use GPU Tweak II, I'm sure most manufacturers have their own monitoring toolset.
Cheers R
Alright thanks I'll try that out. I've been wondering how much longer the 1070 will still be able to do the job. I have my eye on the 3080 but of course that can't be found anywhere at the moment.

I agree that is one area that seems improved. I am wondering if the stuttering may be related to Orbx TeraFlora and HD trees that i have installed. Lowering the autogen levels doesn't seem to help unless I select "none".

Are your windows updates and drivers up to date?
Yeah drivers are current including the recently released video driver from Nvidia. Maybe I should try a different version?

Hello,
I feel like I may be the odd one out here, but I am seeing far better performance in v4 over v5 on my system. I have tested both versions with the same addons and v4 yields better performance overall. I am not measuring this based strictly on FPS, but more so how smooth the sim runs. If I use Riva Tuner in v5, I continue to get stutters and am unable to lockdown the FPS, but if I use RivaTuner in v4, I can lock at 30FPS without any stuttering. Is p3dv5 technically still in beta?

Or maybe you can use the three position "Mags" rotary switch on the Honeycomb yoke. I don't have that yoke so don't know what assignment options you have with it.
Al
I do have a registered copy of FSUIPC, yes. If you have that script handy I'd like to try it out. If I have multiple LUA scripts running in FSUIPC will it cause a conflict? I also use the autothrottle script you sent me a few months back.
Thank you

a value of -1 is all lights off
a value of 0 (or 1) is taxi lights on
a value of 1 is landing lights on
Note that in the Lear when the Landing lights are on, so also are the Taxi lights.
Al
So basically I should create a mcro file for fsuipc, right? Based on this post right here:
Something like..
[Macros]
1=L:TAXI_LAND=Toggle

Hello,
I am in the process of setting up a profile for the Learjet 35 with the Honeycomb yoke and I managed to get all the variables working correctly except the the landing and taxi lights. Do the standard ">K:TOGGLE_TAXI_LIGHTS" and ">K:TOGGLE_TAXI_LIGHTS" variables not work for the learjet? I am wondering if it is because both of these lights are controlled with the same switch. Is there a different variable I can try to make this work?
Thanks

My TOGW was 448305lbs. I wasn't aware of the 747 having a minimum weight for takeoff. I know some aircraft like the MD80 require ballast fuel and can't fly under a certain weight, but I didn't know that was true for the 747 as well. If that's the case that was probably the issue then.
-
Silly question here. FS2crew says that the trim is out of range when attempting to operating the aircraft (747-400) at very light weights. The FMC is commanding a trim setting of 3.1, but when the captain reads back the trim in the before start checklist, he says "out of range" Does this mean the aircraft should not be operating at this center of gravity?

One thing I miss is the actual recorded voices used for ATC. Albeit a lot of work to record the phrases, it sounds much better with actual voices like you have in FSX/P3D. Even if hearing the same default 5-6 voices you had in FSX got old, it still sounded more realistic than text-to-speech. Behavior and realistic phraseology are another matter.

Sorted.
Figured it out. ATC voices got turned off somehow.

When I do that I don't see the option to run as admin with this program. The screenshots below show what I see when I right click on the icon.

I don't see an option to run FS2020 as admin. Is it because this is already a Microsoft product?

The only voicepack I have installed is English (US). All I am hearing is static on the radio (the sound you would hear if you were switching between stations on a radio) but no voices.

12 hours ago, Tinribs said:Sho69607. You need to select Windows Offline. Not just Offline. If this is your only choice, then you don't have the correct voice pack installed. You need the En-US (see below). Be prepared for a gender change though - You might end up sounding like a big girl.
Some ATC was intermittant with missing voices, or Transmissions were not heard or just a small burst of static was received. This was due to the Azure Servers being "overwhelmed". Some (temp) fixes online told the user to use Windows Offline for ATC. However, I only had the choice of Azure or Off (no Windows Offline) The reason for this was because I had to download the English (United States) Language Pack:
Start > Settings > Time & Language > Language > Add a Language - You need to add En-US
Make the following adjustment to help fix ATC (for now 20 Aug 20):
Start MF20 > Options > General > Sound > Text to Speech to Windows Offline (default is Azure).
Just tried switching to windows offline because I am assuming the servers are still down. Unfortunately Azure isn't working either. Note that voices were working fine when the sim was released, but after the next update they quit working. Also I have Windows EN-US installed by default.
Boarding sounds getting stuck in loop
in FS2CREW: PMDG 737 NGXu

Not sure how this happened but the boarding sounds are stuck in a loop and I am not sure how to reset it. It is just a loud "thumping" noise over and over. Tried turning the crew volume off, resetting the audio system, and suppressing the FA. None of which seems to work. The only thing I can think of was I went into P3D settings during the boarding process. Maybe pausing the sim messed it up?
