Anytime I have clouds my fps generally takes a hit. I pay the price and use 8xSSAA because some of the addon aircraft do not have high res instruments and its hard to read. Fortunately I can get away with this with a 2080ti, but this adds a lot of heat and usage by using such high levels of anti aliasing. Even the FSLabs A320 instruments look blurry unless I use some sort of image sharpening and high anti aliasing.

Follow the instructions for installing FSX addons into p3dv2/3 (just make sure your directory path points to p3dv5). Backup your registry before doing this to be safe. You will need to manual add the scenery to your library within p3d as well.

Do not have it load.
Let me know then.
You should be able to stop Linda from loading via the DLL.xml.
Alright it looks like Linda may be the problem here. Disabling completely seems to work. Perhaps a compatibility issue with Linda itself, then?

3 hours ago, byork said:Are you positive Linda was completely shut down before loading the Dash 8?
Are you using Spad Next or any other program similar to Linda?
We know this issue this is associated with the way hardware programs like Linda/Spad next read LVARS in the Dash 8.
They collide with the way we read LVARs.Linda starts with p3d, but I automatically close it before loading the dash 8. Same thing happened tonight with the readouts. Altimeter settings,V1 speed, anti ice warnings in non icing conditions, "1000 to go repeated over and over", MDA being called on the ground, etc. seem to be the ones that get missed the most. It's almost like something is not getting read from the SDK or something. Not a deal breaker but it would be nice to get to the bottom of this. No SPAD or similar programs running.

Alright Closed out Linda and set Linda to "No" this time, but the problem continues. Also random warnings about ice when on the ground in 20c weather as well.

Are you using EZDOK?
No Ezdok, will try disabling Linda altogether and see what happens.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I am still having issues with MDA callouts, Altimeter callouts, etc. I have Linda set to yes and it seems that it still is not reading some values correctly. Using P3dv5.

Sim is P3D v5.2. No Addon scenery airport for PASI, but I do have FS Aero Data. It was disabled when I did a scenery library scan though. If I switch to XP11, my results are the same as yours, so I am guessing it maybe something with p3d.

Hello,
I attempted to load up a flightplan between KSEA and Sitka, Alaska (PASI), but in little navmap it shows a destination airport of Campo Di Volo Pasiano instead. On the map itself it shows the Sitka area, but clearly the flightplan does not match this. Any ideas?

From what I am seeing all the monitors that go from 1-120hz are close to $1000 or more. Do you really have to spend that kind of money to stop microstuttering?

Yeah I wonder why p3d hits core 0 so much, even in V5. Rarely is it below 100% for me. Maybe my settings are too high?

My PC was doing that and it turned out to be one of the very thick braided connection wires having shifted position somewhat so that occasionally it was just skimming the edge of one of the fans in the case. It only made a noise when that cooling fan got some speed up if the computer was under a heavy load, which initially made me think it was something other than just a bit of friction on a wire that wasn't cable-tied fully out of the way.
Yeah I am positive its coming through my headphones. Is a bad sound driver a possibility? That's the only other thing I can think of.

Hello,
I keep getting intermitten buzzing sounds in my headphones when running p3d. I believe it is the sound that you get when your cpu is overloaded or you get a BSOD. Not sure of the technical term, but as far as cpu usage goes I have core 0 at 100% and the remaining sitting around 20-30%. Not exactly overloaded, but I am wondering what is causing this noise. For reference it occurred last when using the PMDG T7.

At this point the only model I take seriously in MSFS is the working title CJ4 mod which is absolutely amazing. Would consider the CRJ as it performs way better than in p3d, but it has serious throttle issues that need to be fixed in the meantime. As for this, I have no idea why Captain sim would even consider this.

Yep that did it. Created a backup of my registry and was able to trick the installer into thinking it was FSX. Thanks!

Tried installing this into p3d's folder but I receive the error "you must enter a full path with drive letter or a unc path in the form..." Do I need to have FSX installed on my system for this to install?

The A300 is fantastic IMHO. The FF 767 is okay but has required a number of user mods to make it more accurate and still has quite a few things that need to be corrected by the developer.

Small detail but they seem to always get the PFD colors way off in their airplanes.

Upper 80's doing what? In a stress test not unusual, especially if running AVX.
Stress test was hitting the 90’s for me. Using P3D was high 70’s-low 80’s. I also live in a warmer climate so I don’t know if that was the contributing factor here or not. That was actually one of the reasons I switched to an AIO.

This is a brand new board and bios is already updated, but thanks I’ll check out this video.

I used an older guide of his to build and overclock my current system. It has been rock solid stable. I plan on using this guide to build my next one.

I noticed that a lot of the bios settings in this guide are not in my bios. Is it possible that Gigabyte has a lot of these settings listed under a different name than the ones mentioned in the guide?

High voltage -> high temps.
Didn't get to that point fortunately. I was in the mid 60's underload. Once I went back to default I am now hitting 80c underload with turbo.
-
I found the i9-10900k to run hot, even under stock turbo settings. I had a noctua n15 that worked wonders with my last chip, but could not quite handle the 10900k. Temps under load were getting up into the upper 80's. Ended up getting a 240mm AIO and that made a huge difference in terms of cooling. Now I rarely hit the 70's under load.

just recently purchased the i9-10900k and I'm certainly not complaining. Handles everything I throw at it.

Okay so does that mean setting Linda to "yes" in the cfg options has no effect then? Because it seems to make not difference whether it is set to yes or no (at least in p3dv5). The only change comes when Linda is taken out of the sim completely like we discussed above.
