  1. You won't get it free but probably a reduced price of $349,999,999,99  While I'm at it as I've got a spare space, how am I supposed to use the quote options? I've coiped/pasted but nothing happens. Sorry if I'm out of place.
  2. Must have seen something else about the 737NGX obviously. But the 777 has definitely been updated to be compatible with FSX and SE.
  3. I read the same sale for the 777-200LR at $350,000,000,00. I'll have the 300ER while I'm at it then. The problem with the boxed version and what you called a nice printed manual, there was no mention of installation instructions. I had to open the disc up to see the Read Me file. I sent a message to Aerosoft asking the same question as to whether they would be releasing the updates for the 737NGX. Still waiting for reply. I also asked the same question to the retailer I purchased the boxed version but they are closed Saturdays.
  4. According to Aerosoft on Facebook, stated the 737 updates are released. That was a shot in the backside because I purchased the boxed version from a UK retailer and it panned out that I will still need to obtain the 600/700 and then 800/900 updates.. I was under the impression that the 737NGX was a combination of all the models. So what should I do now, being stuck with just the NGX version(Whatever that is)?
  5. I'm still none the wiser as to what to actually do. Do I have to trust that this updated SP1c/d will be there when I purchased and downloaded. Still doesn't answer the nagging question as to whether it is an installer for FSX SE compatibility. Now I just have to chance my arm with an attempted install.
  6. Purchasing FSX 777 today saw something that shook me to the quick. $350,000,000,00 for the cost of an update. Is that right?
  7. It's the newness of the whole thing that makes it complicated. Please don't be so pedantic when answering to members queries. I will take my chances with the install, and I only have interest with FSX SE at this time. Give me some slack as I'm a newbie in this technological world. Or maybe I misread you and you were trying to state the fact that if I was finding it difficult to work out, just do what comes natural and not make things complicated if they aren't. It's the fact that I've been used to downloading and installing, but with PMDC I find it's a whole new book to read and learn.
  8. Flight swimming would be NEW to everybody lol.
  9. Yes, it's an age thing I'm afraid. I just don't grasp how to obtain the installer. Logical thinking takes me to believing it could be the SP1c/d update. I have just purchased the Base 777 and also the Expansion for 300ER. I haven't as yet installed them for obvious reasons and I'm treading on soft ground because nothing is clear cut yet as to forge forward. Am I correct in thinking the updated installer is the SP1c/d as PMDG shop only gives the SP1c? The answer to my original query put me in a state of spin because I could only think of what the ecommerce could have meant. Could it be the fact that I purchased both versions, then went back to My account in order to download both? But it was the installer that stumped me. I can foresee problems if I just go ahead and install because I would be expecting 2 major things. First I would expect to see the installer then the activation prompt. Thanks in advance. 10. I hope now that I've spent almost an hour on editing my profile that I am now legit. I don't mind having my knuckles rapped for wrong doing but I do not have to put up with snide remarks from others. I didn't even think of looking to see what requirements there were to use THIS forum. I have countless forums I belong to and never have I ever had to use a full name just to prove that I am genuine. Having said that I apologize for my error.
  11. What about those people who bought their PMDG's from retailers? How do they get the installers?
  12. You misread me n4gix. Okay, it might have taken a little longer to download and install but it didn't take for ever. Besides, I'm in no hurry as I'm a new simmer with FSX so it's in the hanger so to speak, not yet tweaked or anything. I've only got the default to play around with, which is okay for a newbie. At the moment I'm reading through a complex training manual for the PMDG 737NGX just to get some idea what I'm letting myself in for. Taking it nice and slow so I learn without breaking out into a sprint.
  13. @n4gix. Download and install in as little as 20 minutes? Lol, took me all of 3 minutes.
  14. No GFR, far from it. I only have it installed and I'm biding my time with it in the hope that the compatible will come pouring in lol. I had only noticed that on a lot of add-ons there was the mention of "Needs to have" etc. So that stuck in my mind and I asked here just to see if my thoughts were justified or not.
  15. Thanks Aviator I had an idea that was the case. However, I did try to see if I had them installed but couldn't find them anywhere. Where would I find them please?
  16. I'm on a learning curve here so I hope I type what I mean. I have FSX-Steam installed but I keep seeing things about installing SP1 and 2. Do I need to install either or both, because I think SP2 is for Multiplayer? Roger
  17. Thanks Mitsunari. I made my mind up whilst reading the comments of which was the real reason for posting anyway. I have FSX SE installed so it's just a matter of setting up the hardware of which I have most of to play the sim. I just wasn't sure about the add-ons that I have would work as such which led me down the windy path of Gold, of which I reiterate was only used as an example of what I could aim at instead. So I'm going to stick with Steam edition and wait for the patches etc before going head first into the muck. Because I made a request if it would be okay to list my specs and what I have to hand in the way of add-ons, I'll offload these so you're the first to see. I won't bother with the specs unless you would be interested in seeing them. So here is what I have scenery wise: UK 2000 Xtreme Airports Vol 1 Stansted+London City UK 2000 Xtreme Airports Vol 2 Heathrow+ Gatwick UK 2000 Xtreme Airports Vol 3 Manchester+Liverpool PILOT'S FS Global X 2010 AEROSOFT Mega Airport Paris Orly AEROSOFT Mega Airport Hong Kong AEROSOFT Mega Airport Frankfurt AEROSOFT Mega Airport Amsterdam Schipol I see PMDG has released the B737 version to Steam so that's the first thing I've seen since it started. Apart from the RealAir Duke(Which is superb) nothing else is showing as yet. Sorry about talking planes but it just crossed my train of thought.
  18. Thanks france89. Reason why I was on the fence really was the graphics. I saw what they looked like on You Tube and thought why not wait till DTG fix the bugs. But not to defect to the old myth of what it's been like on TS204/5 things tend to take a little bit long to address with the many incompatibles. So if I choose to stay with Steam version and the mentality to be patient and wait for what we all need. I need to see a much more sharper view when I open up FSX Steam for the first time with add-ons that I hope will work to make it what I want it to look like. If it means purchasing REX and ORBX etc then so be it. Those patches need to come sooner than later.
  19. Thanks again everyone. Would I be pushing it if I gave my specs and what software I have just to see if they are worth using? Some of the software as I said have been built up so may be a bit old in the tooth now(As I am). They might not be compatible with FSX even though it says when OS is Windows or higher. Tell me if it would be okay to provide information on both. Roger
  20. Thanks guys. Craig, I did say that the FS2004 pay ware that I had built up were all marked as compatible with FSX on the box. And the only reason why I mentioned Gold was as an example to what I might have needed, but even then I was dubious because of the arm and a leg price. Ok now that you've all pointed me to a better direction I might just go for FSX and not Steam. First though, because I'm not too sure as I've read over different comments on FSX etc. Am I right in saying FSX is a 32bit program? My PC is pretty powerful(I think) and runs on Win 7 64bit. Okay, now what do you suggest, although I'm swayed towards the stand-alone program. I have looked and found these to choose from: FSX Deluxe Edition FSX Acceleration Pack or just simply FSX. Cheers for now.
  21. Newbie here. Since FSX Steam Edition came out I'm on the fence with the look of scenery I've seen on You Tube. So I'm wondering if I should give FSX Gold a try. The question however is I have a load of FSX pay ware that has been stacking up since I was interested in FS9(Being compatible with FSX). Question again so as not to blab on, is should I delete the default scenery as installed with FSX so that I could for instance install FSX Extreme Heathrow? Thanks Roger
