Using Saitek switch/multi/radio panels with FS2004
I believe the three options are: 1. Spad v0.5.1 via https://fstools.weebly.com/download.html but the link no longer works 2. FSUIPC LUA plugin - there used to be a forum with user contributions where I might have got hold of a plugin someone had already created but that forum is no longer available. I've contacted SPAD support but wondered if anybody here has a plugin they might share please? 3. The Saitek plugin via https://www.saitek.com/uk/down/drivers.php but as I use SPAD.neXt to run the panels in P3D and FSX-SE I'm wary of this approach as there may be issues with conflicts between the two methods of accessing the devices.

Seeking some old scenery library object packages
Thanks for the offer @deeknow, I did end up getting copies thanks to @blaunarwal and was able to see most of the airport objects.

Seeking some old scenery library object packages
I downloaded an old scenery package for Greater Kankakee Airport KIKK which the readme advised needs various freeware object libraries to work correctly. WHAT YOU NEED: Library Files - You may be able to save some search and download time by downloading and installing the following files. They are compilations of most of the scenery library objects by the various designers in the FS community. However, if you are still missing objects or textures, then refer to the individual library file list. classic_libraries.zip by Wolfgang Gersch.................................flightsim.com ez_1.zip by David Grindele...............................................flightsim.com rwy12_1.zip by David Grindele............................................flightsim.com loneys_ez_scenery.zip by the author........www.lfssd.net or flightsim.com or avsim.com Individual Library File List – parklrgs.zip by Sidney Schwartz park_ss.zip or parking_ss.zip by Sidney Schwartz default_terminals_ss.zip or deftrmss.zip by Sidney Schwartz lens_ez_scenery.zip and lens_ez_scenery_textures.zip by Len Hickman lts_ss_1.zip by Sidney Schwartz warehouse_airplanes_*.zip compiled by Sidney Schwartz I've been able to obtain the classic libraries by Wolfgang Gersch here on the AVSIM library but the others on flightsim.com are pending the website redevelopment. Would anybody be willing to share the remaining collection libraries with me please. KIKK is featured in Charles Gulick's "Flying Flight Simulator" book. Thanks David

Charles Gulick magazine articles?
I really enjoy his books. Gemini LLM suggests he wrote magazine articles in a similar vein but when I try to find them they seem to be hallucinations! Does anybody know of any definite references. Alternatively does anybody have any biographical or anecdotal information they would care to share. I've never seen a photo of him. Many thanks David

Transparent runway textures - is it possible in P3D v5.4
I notice that sometimes P3D runways are either at a slightly different angle to the photo scenery depiction or even completely translated. Gemini LLM suggested a global approach to addressing this could be to substitute transparent runway textures so that you don't see them when they render in sim and the underlying photo scenery shows through. Despite much experimenting I haven't been able to get this to work and the alternative of adjusting individual airports using ADE doesn't appeal. My question is has anybody succeeded in applying this approach and if so would you shed light on how you achieved it.

Milviz DHC-2 Beaver Update
Funny how you can't edit your post after a minute or two! I'm using P3D v5 and yes was trying to put in add-on location. I've been doing that with everything in conjunction with Lorby. Or is it that once someone else replies you can't edit a post? I was trying to follow:

Okay how about this. Well I think it's right. I've surely done something wrong in installing the updates. But since the cleanup takes some time I thought I'd check first in case there is a simple fix before repeating the process from scratch.

Autogen to go with photoreal scenery availability
From what I can gather there is a range of increasing autogen quality: 1. Created using default scripts that come with ScenProc 2. Enhanced scripts designed to do a better job for the world at large (e.g. as created by YouTuber Adam YouTuber Adam J Pestridge - YouTube) 3. Region specific scripts where you identify tree and building models tailored to the region and specify use of those in the script 4. The autogen produced by Matthias! (A shame we can't get approval to share his work now he is retired) 5. Payware quality offerings like Orbx and VFR 3D that include custom POI models (e.g. Hawaii Aloha! - Hawaii Photoreal)

Autogen to go with photoreal scenery availability
From memory in this video: Adam says you specify the area for the imagery and then start it running in OrthoXP. Then once the ScenProc definition files are created you cancel the OrthoXP process and use the definition files directly in ScenProc - avoiding the download of the imagery. But I haven't rewatched the video to confirm :)

Autogen to go with photoreal scenery availability
Did you have to download all the imagery or were you able to generate just the autogen? I imagine downloading a country would be huge - especially if not needed for the FTXDes photoreal countries. Do you think you would research specific tree/building models for each country or go with a generic script. If generic script have you looked at Adam's script that he refers to in his autogen tutorial.

Autogen to go with photoreal scenery availability
Excellent. May I point you towards this site in case you don't know of it already. FTXDes: Project Open Scenery This photoreal doesn't have autogen and the developer is busy working on an airport for FS202X. From his comments in the pdf's that accompany the phtotreal I believe he would be happy to host any autogen produced to go with his photoreal offerings. Thanks.

Autogen to go with photoreal scenery availability
I watched this video https://discord.com/channels/854119764766097449/856673697183957002/1317673933952253953 which gives a great description of the process for creating autogen to add to photoreal that doesn't already have it. Now I could follow those instructions to create autogen to go with for example this photoreal scenery https://discord.com/channels/854119764766097449/856673697183957002/1317675032884809739 but I wonder whether others have already done so? We see people creating scenery and sharing it, but I don't seem to be able to find sites where autogen for use with photoreal is shared. I grant that you can buy payware autogen! Apparently to create region specific autogen you need to research the types of tree and buildings present in the region, find GUIDs for models that are suitable and available in your simulator and then tell ScenProc to use those GUIDs when generating the autogen. It sounds a lot of work and maybe fun for some, but it seems a shame if everybody has to do it themselves! As an aside it seems a pity that all that work by MatthiasKNU generating region specific autogen has been lost forever simply because he and the majority of others have moved on to newer simulators. Just my musings. Does anybody else think along similar lines?

MatthiasKNU Scenery
Just a quick note to say I've confused https://www.fcscenerys.com/ with Best Free FSX & P3D Photoreal Scenery Add-ons for 2024. It's the latter site where the excellent freeware Hawaii photoreal is available.

MatthiasKNU Scenery
I recently posted regarding the availability of this scenery now that Matthias has closed shop. Thank you for the replies I received. Yes, I did try and reach him on FSDeveloper. I have already discovered https://www.fcscenerys.com/ in fact I heartily recommend the Hawaii scenery and plan to try out some of the other packs in the near future. Pa - may I recommend this movie that I watched recently - it was brilliant fun Biggles: Adventures in Time (1986) - IMDb, the plane and helicopter scenes are first rate. Ray, please delete this post if it contravenes forum rules. Cheers David

MILVIZ UH-1 twist axis on collective issue
I'm trying to assign the collective twist axis to a joystick axis using FSUIPC on the MILVIZ UH-1 freeware helicopter in P3D v5. I've sought help on the FSUIPC forum but thought I'd try here in case somebody succeeded in doing this and knows what variable it needs to be assigned to or even can confirm it is possible.

Missions for P3dV4/5/6 in English and German
When I went to the German version of your site Google offered to translate page which fooled me. So, this time I clicked on top of page link to go to English version then downloaded mission 1 v5 files but contents are still in German? Here are the file links from the two pages and they look to be the same? English mission 1 v5 link: https://andi20.ch/p3d/missionen/insellandung1/Insellandung1%202.5.zip German mission 1 v5 link: https://andi20.ch/p3d/missionen/insellandung1/Insellandung1%202.5.zip Am I misunderstanding? There are two language versions of the website download pages but the missions themselves are only in German?

Missions for P3dV4/5/6 in English and German
How can we know which missions are translated into English? I downloaded a couple and both were in German. There doesn't seem to be any indication on your web page which are the 19 translated to English.

FSX Simcopter v1.0
For information only - no action required. I tried running the "FSX Simcopter Groton Connecticut.exe" under windows 11. After extracting the files, it gives an error message "Error: FSX Simcopter Groton Connecticut (v1.0) is not allowed to run on Win (6.2) setup Aborted!" I was able to fix this by running under compatibility Windows 7 mode. Also, the installer default destination folder is that of FSX so if like me you are running FSXSE you'll need to browse to the correct location. I like the music running while the files are installing! Question for dcrandall: impressive to have completed two big projects for FSX, this and the Appalachian Trail Mission. Just wondering what you are doing now, resting on your laurels or embarking on project number 3 - if so, any hints what it might be?
