USER WARNINGS AND ACTIONS
Dave, I was referring to the graphic attached to post #1 of this thread: http://forum.avsim.net/uploads/monthly_10_2013/post-100001-0-53984900-1382377593.jpg You will find the words "behaviour" and "pediphilia" in it. I don't know who wrote it, and I don't think it matters. "Pediphilia" is a mis-spelling, agreed?

FS9 texture problem
Have you tried a different aircraft? Certain aircraft textures can cause this I think.

Gmax To Max Conversion Utility ("FFG")
Fastest propliner ever!! But the engines were dicey, it is true, and too expensive at the time. So they went back to 3350's, also good for 3-engine ops, they say. There is going to be an update of the FS9 model, fitting it with a VC and a new FDE. An FSX model could be on the cards but as the poet said, I have promises to keep .... and miles to go before I sleep! Thanks for your comment! Manfred

Gmax To Max Conversion Utility ("FFG")
FFG - "Forward From Gmax" is a suite of three program modules which export selected Gmax objects or whole scenes to a maxscript file which can be run in current versions of 3ds Max. The modules were written with mainly Flight Simulator (Microsoft, Prepar3D) developers in mind, but can be used for other applications as well. Polygon, mesh, and spline objects transfer without loss of detail, preserving standard materials, pivots, modifiers, UVW mapping, editable poly and editable mesh. Animations and FSX materials do not transfer well and generally have to be redone manually. With permission granted by the original author, FFG is based on the famous "Back From Five" (BFF) script by Borislav 'Bobo' Petrov (which can be used for porting Max-modified parts back to Gmax for final compilation). Authors: Tom Faulds ("hairyspin") and Manfred Jahn ("mjahn"). For more information and pictures check this thread at FSDeveloper: http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/showthread.php?t=425397 Direct download, also at FSDeveloper: http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/downloads.php?do=file&id=135 Picture of a FS9 Gmax model ported to Max 2011. 20K polys were involved; FFG's 4-step process took 15 minutes.

Basler BT-67 Turbo Conversion DC-3 released
Have passed it on to the team. At the moment we don't really seem to have a solution. Perhaps Alexander can think of something.

The SAAF aircraft are actually Braddick (BSAS) Turbo Daks, not Baslers. Different engine nacelles and no clipped wings.

Basler BT-67 Turbo Conversion DC-3 released
It's there at Flightsim under basler_bt67_spectrem.zip. Has a cocked up blurb, but never mind, the readme is correct. Next up will be the Bell Geospace version with a sting in its tail for gravity measurements, complementing the stingless version already available: And that will conclude the Basler project for the time being I think, except for occasional updates and refinements. Already on the drawing board is rather an ugly duckling with the same fuselage as the Basler, swept wings, bulging nacelles and oversize tailplane. What can it be? Well here is how the puzzle pieces are supposed to come together ...

"Spectrem" sporting Daniel's paint has been uploaded to Flightsim. May take a couple of days for it to register. Sorry for the delay.

Great, John, welcome back to the world of glide paths! Daniel says it's just a matter of some finishing touches, as soon as he's back. We'll notify you here.

Yes that's what I understood you to mean by "locking" on to the GS. And that's what it does, except on your setup. Perhaps others have a better clue ... something to do with ILS perhaps? Are you using a saved flight?

One more point just in case ... if you are using a flight plan make sure you have IFR ticked.

John, I am the least reliable person to comment on flying let alone AP practice, but the reason I chimed in here mentioning the Garmin GPS was that I encountered exactly the same problem as reported by you - until I turned the GPS off for final approach (following a suggesting in another forum) and then the glide slope did lock on just as it was supposed to. So it definitely is possible, and it makes me think there must be some general setting not working on your setup. Perhaps a point by point comparison of settings could clear it up. In my case I even turned on the Aircraft > Visual Flight Path option to check if everything was in working order, and it was. In other news, the Spectrem and Bell Geospace models and liveries should be available by the end of the week.

Old_As_Dirt: Some people say that the Garmin(s) interfere with ILS and Autopilot APR. Perhaps try switching them off or to VLOC.

Go right ahead, no special permission needed. We are looking forward to your paint.

I have got that tutorial, but miss your point. You want a different solution for the gauge polys or for the 3D VC objects, or both? I need more explicit instructions I am afraid. Regarding the MultiplyBlend model in reply to your other post, does it work?

Right, used 40% of 256/white = 102. Model is called bt67_interior_DIY_allblank_MB (for MultiplyBlend). Same link as above. Note, this is for testing the idea only. If it proves viable, we will have to assign the blank space to a separate VC section so that the other gauges of VC01 aren't affected. The blank space can be used for placing all sorts of gauges, so it's difficult to anticipate what users would put there. So the "overall glow" would seem best. The bezels are currently lit by the cabin light effect acting on VC_gauges.dds. I do not use a _night variant texture there.

Will do, why not ... never tried MultiplyBlendUC ... but which value of grey would be best for this? Please advise. OldAsDirt: When in doubt whether the AP is active use and check the button on the Yoke.

Too bad but I think we have tried everything. Meanwhile I am adjusting the smoothness of the round bezels so that KOXR's HD gauges are set off appropriately.

One last attempt, CooIP ... (using just a tiny fraction of additive light for the left panel), and resurrecting other VC01 gauges to normal) Do the RXP authors give any tips? Does the GNS have brightness control?

CooIP: yet another attempt. Test one more time please. The default GPS looks OKish on it here. CavalierDuck: Love all RAF paints, real or fictitious...

OK, just changed that for the DIY "allblank" mdl at https://dl.dropbox.com/u/51024107/DIY_panel_01.zip Let me know whether this is any better.
