Flight 1 - GTN650 for the F33A
Thanks, Bert! It worked! Another question: I noticed "My Gauges" in your 182Q config on the F1 GTN 650/750 forum. Where did you get the "My Gauges" with the filler and Narco Navcom?

Flight 1 - GTN650 for the F33A
Bert, I installed two 650's in my F33A, but I can't use the touch screen on unit #1 because the "finger pointer" that pops up the original GPS gets in the way. Is there any way I can get rid of this?

Airport Facility Directory
I just got the ipad app for Father's Day and can't stress how much I love it and how it has streamlined my FS experience. Thanks! My question is this: With the new update for the charts today, I can no longer access the AFDs for airports. They show up in the "other" chart list, but they won't download. I can still download all the other charts (IAPs, SIDs, STARs, etc). Is there something I'm doing wrong?

RAM VII Conversion for C340
Sorry I've been gone so long - I got to go away for two weeks over Thanksgiving.I need some help. Bert was right in that it needed some more power, so I took his advice (see above). The only problem is that now when I cruise at FL 230, I can't pull the props back any lower than 2500 RPM. Does anyone know how I can fix this in the aircraft.cfg, or do I have to start messing with the air file?

RAM VII Conversion for C340
Thank you so much for your help, Bert! I noticed I was a little slow in the cruise at 78% and 23,000, so thanks for helping me out.Since I want this to be as real as possible, is there anything else anyone thinks I should change?Would you advise me re-releasing this addon when I get it right?

L TRANS warning on annunciator panel?
According to the owner's manual, page 2-26, "L TRANS" means "Transfer of wing locker fuel complete". An optional system for the 340 is 20 gallon fuel tanks in the forward portion of the nacelle wing lockers. If you have this system, the only way to use this fuel is to transfer it into the main (tip) tank on the same side and then burn it with the fuel selector on main or cross-feed. You have to activate the pump to transfer the fuel, and when it is all transferred, this light on the ann. panel comes on so you know to turn the pump off - then the light goes out.It is interesting that this light came on for you since this aircraft is not modeled with wing locker tanks. I had a similar problem with the "SURF DEICE" light remaining on even after saving the flight and reloading for the next one. It stayed on even if I had the boots on or off. So, I completely re-loaded the plane and it went off. If it's still on, maybe this will help.

RAM VII Conversion for C340
I just uploaded an update I made to the 340 which gives it 335 horsepower RAM VII engines instead of the original 285 hp engines. Carenado's model is a 1974 model with the original 285 hp TSIO-520-K engines. Since this is my very first upload, let me know if I need to change anything. You can search for it in the avsim.com file library by using RAM VII or Cessna 340.

Upgrading engines on Cessna 340
Thank you. The K's redline is at 33", but the aircraft.cfg max_design_mp is 38", even though it only gets to just over 33" at KPNE (121' MSL) with full throttle and props (2700 RPM). Would all I have to do is tweak the cfg file to make it perform like the RAMs or do I have to get into the air file, too?

Mixture settings
I recently bought an "owner's manual" for a 1974 Cessna 340, which is the year this plane is modelled after. You can pick one up here if you like: http://www.aircraftmanuals.aero/list/showDetail.asp?mID=4268 This manual states that the best power setting is 150o rich of Peak EGT and the recommended lean is 50o rich of peak EGD. The best power setting gives you an increase of 2 ktas.

POH for c340
I e-mailed Carenado and found out that they modelled a 1974 Cessna 340 with 285 h.p. Continental TSIO-520-K engines. I found a great little 1974 Cessna 340 "Owner's Manual" from this site: http://www.aircraftmanuals.aero/list/showDetail.asp?mID=4268 I would recommend it to anyone who wants to know more about flying this airplane. It gives the same checklists you find in Carenado's documentation plus chapters on detailed descriptions of systems, operating limitation, operational data (including performance charts), optional systems, and care of the aircraft. It's worth the $15 plus $5 shipping (at least to Philly) if you want to understand this plane better. I'm currently working on upgrading the engines to RAM VII's, so if anyone has any pointers on how to do this or is interested in the mod, let me know.

Upgrading engines on Cessna 340
I recently purchased Carenado's Cessna 340 and think it's a great airplane for FSX. The only problem is that it has 285 horsepower Continental TSIO-520-K engines from the original 1974 model 340. Most (if not all) of these early models have upgraded to more powerful engines. I would like to do this with this airplane. RAM aircraft has made an upgrade that I'd like to make on my FSX 340 called RAM VII. This gives the Continental TSIO-520s 335 horsepower on each side. I modified my aircraft.cfg for the 340 by changing the horsepower from 285 to 335, and also changed the critical altitude to 25,000 from 16,000 per RAM specs. http://www.ramaircraft.com/Aircraft-Engine-Upgrade-Packages/Performance/340A-Series-VII-Performance/SM039C4-340A-Series-VII-Performance.htm . I noticed that the takeoff power settings in my checklist from Carenado were the same for the RAM VII engines (38 in mp & 2700 rpm), so I left that the same. My question is this: Is there anything else I need to change in the aircraft.cfg file or the air file or will this do the trick. Any help will be greatly appreciated because this is my first time modifying the flight dynamics of an aircraft. Thanks,Mark Ritzman

POH for c340
I found a site that sells Cessna 340A POHs and PIMs, but they're a little pricey: http://www.esscoaircraft.com/c-4751-cessna-owners-manuals-pohs-pims.aspx Does anyone know which model year the Carenado Cessna 340A is in case I want to buy one of the PIMs?

Mixture settings
This article references 100 degrees Rich of Peak EGT for best performance and Peak EGT for best economy: http://americanaviationinc.com/effectsCessna.html Can anyone confirm this?

MilViz Cessna 310R and s-turns
If this helps anyone: I had s-turn problems while hand flying my MilViz Cessna 310R with ASE in FSX. I changed my FSUIPC settings to this: http://forums.flightsimlabs.com/index.php?/topic/1947-asa-ase-settings-with-fsuipc-and-fsx/ and everything worked well. Thanks to all the developers of ASE for a great product! Mark RitzmanASUS Essentio CM CM5570 Quad Core @ 2.33 GHz, 8 GB of ddr2 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT 240, FSX Acceleration
