  1. My bad :( Good suggestion. I'll be sure to put that up in my standard preflight flow (It should be on there but probably I have not been checking that as well as needed.) Thanks
  2. Hello fellow pilots, I have been experiencing an odd thing during my last couple of flights. As soon as I rotate nose up, the landing gear retracts automatically without me actually pushing a button. This seems to happen as soon as the main landing gear loses contact with the ground. As a result, the cockpit ambient sound is starting to loop a specific sequence from the landing roll and rattle. This can only be ended when I initiate a descent. I have checked my FSUIPC button settings that I use to map my SAITEK yoke bindings but I could not find a double key assignment with the classical 'G' command. I still have to check SPAD (used to map my switch panel) but I have used SPAD before using the same settings without this incident occurring. I find it strange that this happens. Does someone experience the same issues and does someone know how to take care of this issue? Any suggestion is appreciated. Thank you
  3. Unlikely but I agree! Let's just say that they will load their planes up to the highest cost-effective load.
  4. Unfortunately I don't work for TRA so I don't get to see the loadsheets. What I do know is that deboarding planes on eham from LTFG are pretty full. Anyways. Just did the take off with the weights specifiek above. I used a b738 from GOL with SFP. Flaps set at 15, bumped TO and bleeds off. Temp was 29 degrees and qnh at 1006. Calculated V2 was 149. Parking brakes set, advanced to 40% N1, released brakes and hit TOGA. I got up in the air well before the end of the runway only one odd thing. The calculated stab trim was around 4.15 which I found quite low. On rotation it took me ages to get the 15 deg nose up. Why does the fmc give such a low trim setting? Thanks for all the replies so far.
  5. Thanks, Fabo. I'll try to work with that. Transavia mostly flies out late in the evening, I believe. The runway is indeed sloped but I cannot take that into consideration when doing perf calculations. I'll work with the packs off take off option and a TO bump. Let's see whether that gets me off the ground. Fuel I will have to take a look at. Most of the times I take some contingency fuel with me but already set that to 10 mins. Perhaps I have to go with the bars minimum. Alternate is already set to Rotterdam. I don't believe that Lelystad currently can handle the 737. I welcome any other suggestion.
  6. Sorry for the multiple posts :( Anyways, according to pfpx and topcat, I am more than 4 tons overloaded. That would mean a serieus cut in payload. I can't imagine that is right. Secondly, is the maximum flap setting for take off not 15? At least I thought it was. I also know that TRA uses it summerleases from GOL that have a short field package installed. That should help. On the other hand, other airlines don't operate spf's to LTFG. Daniel W.
  7. Dear Captains, I encountered a problem that I'd like to discuss with you. I recently am into flying the NGX again and I like to do flights for the airline transavia.com (TRA). Using PFPX I planned a flight from the relatively new but very small airport LTFG (Gazipasa) to EHAM. Since it is summer season I reckon that in real life flights would be fully loaded. My flight was specified as follows: Equipment: 738 TOW: 72,5k Fuel: 13,5k temp: 33 C wind: 220/04 QNH: 1016 rwy: 26 The TOPCAT tool calculated that the requested take off performance was well above the performance limit of the aircraft in these circumstances. I don't know the exact elevation of the field, but it is close to sea so it cannot be that high. The runway length is 6500ft/2000m. I know for sure that in real life TRA (and other airlines) take fully loaded planes from LTFG to EHAM without a tankstop in between. The question is, how do they actually get their flights into the air without running out of runway? Thanks in advance, Daniel W.
  8. Hello, I have been enjoying the NGX for quite some time now and I love every second of it. Lately though, I have been experiencing a minor issue with the sounds. I have my NGX rigged with the ISFD which should ordinarilly not produce a sound that is audible in the cockpit, much like the soft rattling sound the analogue counterparts make. However as of late, this rattling sound is also audible when I am flying with the ISFD selected through the FMC. I reckon that somewhere a glitch in the sound profile has been made. Simple question: How do I correct this situation? I am running my NGX (both 8/900 and 6/700; service pack 1c installed) on FSX (SP2) on a WIN7(64x) machine. I appreciate any suggestion that might solve this minor problem I think I got the problem fixed. It turned out that one of the sounds was corrupted and I replaced it with the original. I'll check in the morning to see if it actually worked.
  9. The ones with the arrows on it, right? That does not work. I think it is a FSX shotcut issue with the crtl + 1, 2,3 and 4 hotkeys. They are mapped to my EZdok views. However I removed those from the key assignment menu to ctrl + q, w, r, t. Does not matter how often I press them. It does not work :( I am anxious to hear if someone tackled this issue successfully.
  10. Hello fellow Captains, Been doing some flying lately and what really freaks me out is that awful high pitch morse identifiers from my nav radio. I have been trying for hours to find a way to shut it off (Fsx settings, ACP Panel on the pedestal and aft overhead) but still no luck. How do I permanently switch them all off without having to do it over and over again? Cheers Daniel W.
  11. Thanks for all the help. One more thing I'd like to know: what CI does RYR ordinarilly use? Cheers,
  12. Since I am planning to do some Ryanair flights soon with my NGX, I was wondering whether you guys would be able to help me out with both the flight deck config options the RYR airframes have (mcp, wings level or hdg sel. Etc.) Additionally, to configure topcat properly, I was wondering what the weights are that the FR738's use (DOW, MTOW, MLW, ZFW, max payload). Could someone provide me with these, please? I'll promise to take enough fuel with me and to call unfit to fly when I am sick! Thanks
  13. Did you follow the FD? If you climb too rapidly for the set thrust value you will tall. Did you use TO/GA? Doing so you determine a set value of N1. Cheers, Daniel
  14. No problem. I think I know most of the EHAM procedures. I also have charts for EHEH, EHBK and EHRD. If you have questions, PM me and I'll see if I can get them answered. Cheers,
  15. I noticed that you tend to fly from EHAM. EHAM is my base-port too as I fly for Transavia-virtual. The tip I can give you is to familiarize yourself with the SID and STAR procedures of EHAM. GRONY for example is a waypoint on the ANDIK SIDS out of EHAM. Knowing such things really helps a lot when selecting the proper SIDs and STARs. Good luck! Daniel W.
  16. Usually, I prearm LNAV when doing before take off checklist. Then I line up, advance to 40% N1, stabilize, up to take off thrust, press TO/GA, rotate at Vr, fly manually (following FD) until at least 1000ft AGL, engage CMD A (which automatically engages N1 and LVL CHG), at thrust red. (3000ft), I select flaps up speed and only after flaps are up, I select VNAV. I believe this is standard OPS with TRA in the Netherlands (except they don't arm LNAV on the ground), correct me if I am wrong??? Daniel W.
  17. Anyone any insights on this problem?
  18. I noticed that a couple of weeks ago there were some links to hotfixes when you experienced CTD as a result of freezes. Currently I am experiencing more and more of these freezes which inadvertedly crashes FSX, which naturally is a pain in the ***, especially when I am flying for my VA online because it wrecks my logs. Any case, I can't seem to find these hotfixes. Is there someone who can direct me to them? Cheers,
  19. Thanks, I am going to try that :)Cheers, Dan
  20. Hello Chris, Landing weight was around 59.1k About the reversers: I should check the settings then. Though I didn't have the same problem with the iFly. EDIT: 738WL - LF about 73% Cheers, Daniel
  21. I have some difficulties landing properly mainly because of speed issues. My last flight was into EHAM (ILS18R), fully rigged for the ILS approach (Cat-I, no autoland). Flaps 30, Vref set via CDU (148 kts). MCP speed set to 153 (148+5, wind was marginal), spoilers armed, autobrake level 1. About 1000ft I disengage AP and continue manually. A/T switched off subsequently, using throttle to maintain Vapp of 153 but when I flare and retard (flare starts at 50; retard around 30-20 ft), my speed is so high that I shoot up again. It feels as if the true Vref is a good 25 knots lower. Because of this speed decrease, I almost fall down onto the tarmac giving me a hard landing :( Anyone experiencing this or can someone give me some pointers? I only experience this with the NXG. I have flown the iFly and I don't seem to have that problem there. Another question: My reverse thrust kicks in really late, as in ... really really late, I think around 90-80 kts whenI hear the reverse engines roar. At that time I already covered a significant part of my role out. Any news on this too? Cheers, I appreciate any help that can be given :)
  22. No, I don't use DS10 preview and I tried all of the things you suggested and they didn't quite work. I read elsewhere that removing FSX SP2 works to solve these issues, so I did and guess what, FSX is working again :) I'll try reinstalling SP2 to see whether that makes a difference, hehe.Cheers,

  24. Hello fellow pilots, I recently obtained a copy of aerosofts airbus x and after installing it, I came to the realisation that I was a victim of the infamous 'skeleton-plane' problem. After doing some additional internet search, I encountered the texture fix utility of ******* Bojote, which I downloaded and tried. It ads a HIGHMEMFIX to the cfg file which would circumvent some problems. After tweaking the file, I reloaded FSX and unfortunately, when I hit the free flight screen, the animation of the chosen plane rotating is completely black. When I start the sim itself, the screen is completely black itself. You can understand that this problem freaks me out. I am pretty sure that the black screens are a result of the tweaks in the fsx.cfg file. I am operating under Win7 64xI have an NVidia GTS 240 GFX cardObvously I am running FSX.Is there someone here that has experienced the same issue or is there someone who can help me out? Please help me.Right now I am so desperate that I am considering a complete removal of FSX to reinstall it. (I don't want to as I have TONS of addons and WOAi traffic, IVAO add ons and stuff like that )Cheers, Dan
