Majestic Dash 8 Q400 - How to get it started.
Calculating TOD via VNAV works perfect here. Just pick i forward waypoint close to approach with a defined altitude in the flightplan, set a desired decent rate and its done.

Majestic Dash 8 Q400 - Release Thread
I had the sound problem every time I made a flight yesterday. Late in the night I considered what was the difference from my first flight (the tutorial) when no sound problem was detected. I found out that the only difference was running OPUS after the first flight and that I used the flight planner in Fsx after the tutorial. With or without OPUS did not change anything, but when I start my flights by only set up the location and not use the flight planner I have not experienced any sound problem. Now three troublefree flights with full sound all the way. Before I did this the sound crashed every time.

Majestic Dash 8 Q400 - Release Thread
Same problem here. About 10-15 min after starting preparing the bird from cold and dark and I am ready to start engines og some times also during taxi the sound stops. The strange thing was that this did not happen the first flight I took (tutorial from CYZD-CYUL). But every time after that.

Who would like the MD-11 remade in the future
I voted yes to an update. Not because I think it is really needed but because I love flying this bird so much and any new improvements would be appreciated. I fly this bird even more than the new NGX. I find that after you learn how to handle MD11 and it's systems it gives me more than the Boeing-style aircraft. Maybe because it is different. I think it's a pity that the salesfigures of MD11 are low. My opinion is that this is based on pure ignorance from fellow simmers and many just sits comfortable with their Boeing-aircrafts and not want to break new grounds and learn something different. This aircraft is a gem systemwise and by look. When FSlabs release the A320 I think it is time to expand my knowledge into the airbus world of flying. Espen S

Problem going from NAV mode to heading mode
Changing the camera.cfg-file was a good solution, easier to adjust the heading bug and no more 360 degree rolls. Thank you Tobias and Dan for good help and advice Espen S

Problem going from NAV mode to heading mode
Hi Dan, what you tell makes total sense to me and my experience. I find the turning of the heading knob sometimes a little touchy and there can often be some movements in different directions before activating by right-click. As long as I know this issue there is no problem for me. Thanks for informative answers. Espen S

Problem going from NAV mode to heading mode
This evening I flew 2 more legs with my MD11 and tested going from NAV-mode to heading mode and both times there where no problem whatsoever. No strange turning at all, just working perfect. Next time I will observe the outer ring of the ND when doing this navigation change. Many thanks for your help and suggestions. Espen S

Problem going from NAV mode to heading mode
I have a problem with my MD11 when going from NAV-mode (FMC based) to navigation based on the heading knob. This happens when I am in a STAR and I choose a heading with the knob to intercept the LOC closing in on the airport. I adjust the heading and right-click the knob to activate then every time the plane starts to roll sharp left (not in the chosen heading direction). It then makes a 360 degree turn until I disconnect the AP and I have to make the rest of the landing by hand. Is there something I have missed here, maybe disconnect NAV-mode before activating heading knob? Otherwise this is a splendid aircraft, the best I have so far and I know I will be flying this a lot even after the 737NGX is released. Espen S
