  1. Try flying through the mountains to do a circuit at Milford. There are no nav aids of any sort. The default scenery for Milford Sound is crap, so I am hoping that Orbx will do a better job when they release their new project for Queenstown, including a decent job of Milford airport. But you can get the idea.In reality it is restricted to approved pilots only as the tourist operations there are intense when the weather is good, and the circuit and approach is quite tight for 29 (which is the prevailing wind direction), plus you don't really get to see the runway until very short final, and you get a lot of turbulence off the mountains.
  2. That's cool, good to know. Is this just a US thing?
  3. Works for me but I have to hold my finger on it for 4 or 5 seconds before I get any action.
  4. Strange, I noticed yesterday an ILS04RY and and ILS04RZ,, and I think they were at PHNL, but I am not sure about that. There are lots of anomalies in the nav data, things such as runways that simply don't exist, like at NZQN where a left and right are shown, but only a single sealed runway exists, and differences with navaid frequencies between PMDG's nav data and the FSX nav data that make it hard, like VOR frequencies that have changed yada yada. I gather a lot of people are unhappy about this, and rightly so! But I don't think it is PMDG's fault. I tried cranking up my old favourite, the MD-11 and found exactly the same problems. I guess that's because they both use the same AIRAC database 1108, and Navigraph don't seem to be making too good a job of keeping it up to date and accurate. I also tried planning to YMLT, but couldn't see any problem with the listed approaches such as you have described!
  5. I think you need to check your Failure alerts. This happened to me and when I looked up the System Failures in the Options menu of the MCP I discovered, yep, my brakes had failed. Get the maintenance crew onto them and if your lucky (flick em a few beers) you should get a fixed set. My maintenance guys were good enough to fix the problem for my while I taxied out to the active! Nice one PMDG
  6. Yes, I have experienced it too, only for me it happened immediately after the TOD was passed and the MCP retarded the throttles. Rate of pitch change was quite high, about one complete porpoise per 2 seconds or so. It did eventually go away, once after I diconnected the A/P, then immediately reconnected it, and one other time I just left it and it eventually went away. I fly with turb effects on usually, so it could very well be that issue, though apart from the occasional mad S turning I don't mind a bit of bumping about.
  7. I love this new tool, but I still think the MD-11 is tops. Has anyone noticed the Course and Heading display in the MCP only show the first two digits and they are aligned one space to the right? Also, I have had an intermittent problem with some displayed data freezing up, particularly in the CDU. A couple of times I have been happily poking around in the CDU setting up a plan when suddenly all the data fields will disappear. You try to enter data into the scratchpad and it doesn't show, but if you line select it, particularly if the data is invalid, you know it did take the data because you get the Invalid Data message (but only after you select a new page). Another example of this problem is when you try to adjust the baro value, and the display in the PFD doesn't change. Similarly with the standby unit, and all the settings windows in the MCP. Its like a creeping paralysis, you have to reload the aircraft and start again. I have searched this forum but can find no mention of these issues. I have also experience other issues people have mentioned, like the second engine not responding to throttle etc. but I have had no trouble at all with patch 3. Still love this addon though.
