August 23, 201114 yr Okay out of 30+ plus flights this has only happened to me once before today. 1st Time I just wrote it off as a glitch. When it happened today I spent some time tracking down solutions. Was sitting at the gate at NFFN setting up for a flight to NTAA. Setup the whole flight ready to push back. Take the Blocks off ready to push. On a whim I put my parking brake on after the chocks were off to make sure my brakes were good. Nope, the red FSX Brake Light would not stay steady so I knew my brakes were gone. I even pushed back and started up and moved the plane and used my toe brakes and yep they were gone. I tried the following things..... 1) Exit Flight, Reload flight - FAIL 2) Exit FSX reload FSX, Load Saved Flight - FAIL 3) Exit FSX reload FSX, start with NGX Cold and Dark Panel State - FAIL 4) Exit FSX reload FSX, start with NGX Long Panel State - FAIL 5) Disconnected my Saitek X52 Pro and Pedals then reconnected and calibrated them. - FAIL Was working fine yesterday and the only thing I changed last night was to install FS Recorder, so I was starting to think maybe that was the problem. Was about to uninstall it. But on a hunch I did the following first. Rebooted my computer - Success! Got my Brakes back! Then tried reloading saved Flight and Brakes were gone again and was not able to get them back. Rebooted my computer again - Success! Got my Brakes back! So whatever is causing this Brake issue, by restarting your computer it seems to fix it. I wonder if this cure will fix the other minor glitches. Such as Overheats or APU Fails etc? So if you encounter the Brake issue the solution is reboot your computer and start a New flight. Do Not load any saved flights or you will be right back where you started. Paul Deemer

August 24, 201114 yr I think you need to check your Failure alerts. This happened to me and when I looked up the System Failures in the Options menu of the MCP I discovered, yep, my brakes had failed. Get the maintenance crew onto them and if your lucky (flick em a few beers) you should get a fixed set. My maintenance guys were good enough to fix the problem for my while I taxied out to the active! Nice one PMDG
August 24, 201114 yr You might also try just 'refreshing' the plane, it needs to be assigned in the Controls, I use SHIFT+CTRL+R, works great and no need to reboot or leave FSX. Jay
August 25, 201114 yr Is that maybe the same like closing task manager???... I think you don't need to restart your computer.Close all actions you used for FSX and alsop close FSXTest this one... Volkan
August 25, 201114 yr Rebooting you pc is a very dramatic solution that works for almost everything :-) Daniel
August 26, 201114 yr Hmmm, for me with this issue, it would appear that the hotfix3 (8/16) enabled failures, whereas prior to hotfix3 Ihad them disabled and after checking, sure enough, found that I had a brake failure. Cleared this and all would seem to be OK. Also, disabled failures. November 2, 201114 yr Well I hate to resurrect this topic, but I had a hard landing yesterday, brakes then failed and for the life of me I have tried EVERYTHING above and I can not get the brakes to work again. Does anyone know why this is happening.Joe Joe Porter
November 2, 201114 yr Author Did you get it fixed yet Joe? If not try rebooting the computer and loading one of the default NGX panel states. Also where are your Brakes assigned? FSX or FSUIPC? Paul Deemer
November 2, 201114 yr No unfortunately I have not found a fix. I have tried all the remedies in this thread to no avail. I can see that there're is a failure in the failures page and I clear that but it does not fix the brake problem. I have rebooted as well no help. I have not tried to reset the to default and will give that a try. Thanks. Joe Joe Porter
