I took a very open minded poke at the X-plane 10 demo today..First thing; I really liked the load menu (it sounds weird) but I was instantly captivated.... Then it started, the ATC blared through my speakers - You could turn the volume down but it was a nuisance every time... The FPS wasn't great, but I must say it was better than FSX 1.0's framerate initially... I actually really liked the graphics. Maybe more than FSX - But then I remembered how much older FSX is.. Then the GUI - A Turn off, but I know that anything different is initially a turn off - eg. When I try to play Lock On i'm always like "UH! it's not FSX!".. The controls were quite a pain, I still can't get the Hat switch to work how I want it to.I'm sure all this will take time to get used to and maybe make for an enjoyable experience, but let's just say I couldn't be happier to launch back into FSX and my dear NGX

Looks AMAZING!

Hi there, I know I might get flak for starting this topic which I've seen many responses to ones like it; but most were old (the latest being an entire year) I'm not an airbus guy - I don't want to sound like one of those airbus vs boeing 'racists' but I really love Boeing because that's what my dad loves; being a retired SAA 747 captain; which the fleet comprised of mostly Boeing's but some airbuses too for good measure. Now I want to try and see what the whole hub around Airbus is all about and seeing as the airline I want to work for in the future has almost an ENTIRE airbus fleet; I wanted to have a peak look at the systems and what makes the airbus tick and just have a good time! tldr;Is there any current Payware addon Airbus available to FSX which is somewhat PMDG level ? Thanks and I look forward to responses :)

Simon thanks so much for this!! :) And it's good to see a fellow South African on the forum aswell :D thanks for all the inside information it made for a great read, especially me who's only 16 and is still dreaming of flying one day :) This was an awesome read, and yeah. Some South African air routes / flight plans for the 737 NGX FMC would be great :) it's a shame I haven't seen the Flying 101 livery yet, we used to live very close to FAJS (my dad being a retired 747-400 captain for SAA) but now we live near FAWK (Waterkloof AFB) which means we see more military jets and our house is pretty much right under the path for airliners departing northbound, not too mention we have a great deck view ;) which is also right in the approach path for Waterkloof AFB's runway 01 (the only runway with an ILS system) which means we get a pretty good view of the presidents 737 approaching fawb and the other frequent traffic. eg. C-130's, Citations, etc

I got the turbine duke people :) and wow... Like others have said. Performance is stellar. I decided to get this instead of the BN-2 Islander because I already have a DHC-6 Twin Otter which I believe is in the same class. For some reason the Turbine duke runs smoother than the piston duke in the VC..

Yeah I've decided I'm going to be purchasing the RealAir Turbine Duke. :) but on the RealityXP I think i'll hold back... $50 is a lot for a small addon...

Yeah it's any point light in the cockpit, dome or cabin light whatever it's called :) the panel lights would still work, but if I tried switching on the cabin light to light the cabin it wouldn't work. But it works now, Just had to set AC_SELF_SHADOW to 1

Okay I did some playing around with the config and I found it's actually the line: AC_SELF_SHADOW should be 1 when it is 0 VC cockpit lights do not work, only the panel lights work

Hello everyone, I've recently run into a problem ever since I've been using TweakFPS for FSX. Ever since I've used the presets, the dome lighting in all of my aircraft has seased to function. I think it's just a config line, does anybody know what line could cause this? Thanks

Same thing was happening to a friend of mine. It seemed to delete his FSX\Texture\ Folder as well. Not sure why It was doing that.. I tried helping him (he's quite computer illiterate) and It seems the install goes fine, but then after words when the installer is still running in the background it hangs a bit (about 10 seconds) and then after that the folder is deleted. Not sure why, but if someone could help with this it would be cool. Oh and; I hear it is a measure to prevent piracy by PMDG. So if there's something fishy about your install or registration, it deletes the MD-11. Are you sure you bought your MD-11 ? ;)

Thanks for the feedback guys :) really appreciate it. I love the Duke so much I haven't been able to like any other payware GA aircraft. Even some of the earlier Carenado GA aircraft I find myself frowning at after flying the RealAir for so much :( don't get me wrong carenado do make some very awesome aircraft. Is the turbine duke and RXP worth it?
