August 14, 201114 yr I am using the joystick button's to trim and I find them a bit odd as I cannot trim well, I have a joypad too any suggestions if that would be good. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
August 14, 201114 yr Author I use the LH rocker switch on a CH yoke. Seems to work fine for me. Jim Actually I do not have any Yoke it's a simple sturdy stick I am using a Logitech Attack 3. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus

August 14, 201114 yr Using rocker switch on Saitek yoke at the moment, although I am just about to pull the trigger on the Saitek Cessna trim wheel addon. Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD
August 14, 201114 yr Author Have you tried adjusting the repetition rate? (It's the slider to the right of the joystick assignment) Mine is a simple joystick no sliders except for a throttle (I have a home made throttle from a similar joystick). I have a joypad I use that for flaps up/down and it has two round axis controllers can I use that ?Using rocker switch on Saitek yoke at the moment, although I am just about to pull the trigger on the Saitek Cessna trim wheel addon. Are these saitek stuff expensive ? Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
August 14, 201114 yr Mine is a simple joystick no sliders except for a throttle (I have a home made throttle from a similar joystick). In the FSX button configuration screen there's a slider for repetition for each joystick button assignment; I believe this is what he was referring to. I use the buttons on my joystick for the trim and keep the repetition slider for them at 50% which seems to work well for me.Are these saitek stuff expensive ?Retail is $50 for the trim wheel but should be cheaper once discount stores like Amazon start selling it.http://www.saitek.com/uk/prod/trimwheel.html

August 14, 201114 yr Commercial Member I use buttons mostly…which gives rough but OK results for me...Sometimes I use a CH throttle axis; which is a little better but requires a separate throttle. But my very best trim results came from a jury-rigged controller...- I made from a surplus joystick and an old fashion sewing machine wheel :)It took several revolutions to go from stop to stop – built to match a piper Cherokee. The ratio was maybe 8 to 1 – I don’t remember. With that hardware I could trim any aircraft for level flight – it easily made miniscule trim adjustments.I think any hardware built with a 1 to 1 ratio on the potentiometer isn’t going to give realistic trim :)Unless it has a 5 Ft lever for a handle
August 15, 201114 yr The Saitek trim wheel has 9 revolutions to match the actual Cessna version apparently..... Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD

August 15, 201114 yr I don't know which plane you are flying but, there is usually a click spot on the trim wheel in the VC which allows you to use the mouse wheel or +/- clicks. This works for me in the F1 Mustang. I also have 2 buttons, 5 & 6, programmed on my Logitech X 3D Pro tuned through FSUIPC. Joe Brown

Now why did I think about that one :) thanks , I can use the second wireless mouse for that. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
August 15, 201114 yr I wrote a software that may help with your problem (which was one of my problem too ;) ). http://forum.avsim.net/topic/340442-a-little-thing-to-improve-fsx-trim/page__fromsearch__1
