  1. Hi friends. The new VFR map functions introduced in Sim Update 10 are cool, but in turn messed up my map by intermittently showing a trail of "ghost" planes, as shown in these pictures. https://postimg.cc/yDB0y9mZ https://postimg.cc/K1NBqzfs I'm wondering if anyone else has observed this, and has an idea on how to fix it. It's still present on SU11, and this is happening on a PC ever since SU10, and with NVidia driver's versions since september to this date. Any advice will be greatly appreciated Best regards, Armando Arjona, armchair pilot.
  2. I understang and appreciate what you're saying: no one expect to have every available procedure for every airport, not even close. But I'd rather have the ones you already recorded for previous versions than none at all. The same goes for FO T/O: I'd rather have the option, knowing full well that a crash might happen, than not having the option at all.And as I said above the feature I miss the most is having the FA contact me once in a while to let me know about the PAX's status. That, I think, is very cool and can give a bit of variety to an otherwise routine cruise. I'm really very dissapointed. As a user having no idea of programing, I don't know if behind the scenes this one "...is a 100 times more nuanced and advanced...": bottom line is what I see: it has less features and options available to the user than previous versions and for that I am kind of upset.Best regards.
  3. Budbud: I get your point. Personally I would rather have outdated SID/STARS than not having them at all, as I would like to have the option of performing a copilot T/O knowing fully that he *might* crash the plane; but the features are not there. In other words, I'd rather have the options of using a feature or not, than not having the feature present at all. I'm not blaming anyone but myself: I should have done more research before purchasing, but I really never though it would have LESS features than its predecessor. SSSILVABR: There is no indication that the hotfix will add more features; only that it will fix some bugs. If more features and options are indeed planned for the near future, I will insert my foot in my mouth. Regards.
  4. Hello all.I'm not looking to create a controversy or anyone in any way or to affect anyone with my words, but I feel the need to say I'm very disappointed. Fs2crew for the NGX lacks many of the features I've seen in other versions such as more complete passenger announcements where you can tell them the name of your destination (a few pre recorded cities), FA briefings where you can tell the flight attendant to expect a long or short taxi, departure briefings where you can tell your copilot to expect a specific SID or STAR and brief him on it (a few pre recorded procedures), interactions where you can choose what to say (for example, the flight engineer would ask you if you had a good flight and you had 3 different responses to choose from) and, the thing I miss the most, sometimes the FA will contact you to tell you there is a problem in the cabin, most notably a sick pax. When that happens you get to contact First Call and they tell you if a diversion is needed. That was really cool. I really feel like this is a watered-down version of what fs2crew can do in other versions, and would not have purchased it had I know before hand. :( This is just my humble opinion that no one asked me for.Best regards.
  5. Not yet. Apparently there is a conflict that prevents FSP to display properly, but its being worked on.On a personal note, I must say I'm very disappointed. Fs2crew for the NGX lacks many of the features I've seen in other versions such as copilot takeoff, passenger announcements where you can tell them the name of your destination (a few pre recorded cities), FA briefings where you can tell the flight attendant to expect a long or short taxi, departure briefings where you can tell your copilot to expect a specific SID or STAR and brief him on it (a few pre recorded procedures), interactions where you can choose what to say (for example, the flight engineer would ask you if you had a good flight and you had 3 different responses to choose from) and, the thing I miss the most, sometimes the FA will contact you to tell you there is a problem in the cabin, most notably a sick pax. When that happens you get to contact First Call and they tell you if a diversion is needed. That was really cool. I really feel like this is a watered-down version of what fs2crew can do in other versions, and would not have purchased it had I know before hand :( . Not looking to create a controversy here, just getting it out of my chest.
  6. KBOS, Boston Logan, has some DPs names after Boston sports teams CELTK, PATSS, SSOX, and has one called LBSTA, lobster being a very popular dish in the area.Somewhere in the US, following an airway will get you over IWANA, BURGR, NSOME, FRIES. Someone was hungry.
  7. Hi.It means the air temperature is above 10 degrees and therefore anti-ice is unecessary, yet you have them turned on on the overhead panel. Turn 'em off.Reagards,Armando Arjona.
  8. I will, as soon as I get the error again. The problem is that its kind of intermittent, meaning I´ve only seen it very few times, and its not dependent on what flight plan I use, meaning it once appeared on a flight plan I use almost every day. But, as soon as I get it again, I will post as much info as I can. (might be a few days until I get it again though)
  9. Hi, I've seen it a couple of times, most notably on the SID/STAR selection phase. The result of it is that the altitude at which waypoints without restrictions are crossed is not calculated and VNAV mode will not engage.
  10. Hi all.Anyone knows what causes the "VERT PATH FULL" error message to appear on the FMC?Best regards,Armando Arjona
  11. I really do appreciate all the answers. They were excelent and crystal clear and definitelly solved my inquiries. Much thanks to all. Armando Arjona.
  12. Hello guys, good day to all.I have 2 quick questions:1.- Whats a MAX ANGLE climb? I mean, its names tells you what it is, but when will one use it? I have heard ATCs telling pilots to use their best rate, but never their max angle.2.- On the TAKEOFF REF page (the one where you specify the CG, V speeds, etc.) you have the option of toggling QRH on or off. What is it and what does it do? I'm guessing QRH means something different than quick reference handbook in this case.Regards,Armando Arjona
  13. Hello all.I just today discovered Tileproxy and now I beleive I won't be able to fly without it.It occurs to me that since my network connection is not that fast, but I have plenty of HD space to spare, and I only fly around a specific area in FSX, it would be a good idea if I could pre-cache the tiles around that area, say, by letting the program run all night (sorry for the map server, but it'll only happen once) so it downloads and stores that area so next time I don't have to get it again from the server but instead retreive it from my HardDrive. Is there an easy way (as in: noob friendly) to do this?Regards. Fantastic program!
  14. I think he means he wants to hear the morse identifier of the ILS.
  15. :fool:Duh! My fault. I forgot to check the multiline option. That fixed it. :(
  16. Hi all.I'm having trouble running RC after a re-install:I can't see the RC window that lists the avaialble commands and responses in red text (the FSUIPC window) at all inside FSX. RC is running and it does respond to commands (I can get ATIS and so on), but I can't see what those commands are.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Regards.
  17. Hello all. I've noticed the topology of the terrain I'm flying over changes suddenly and instantly to a more complex version of itself, as if the mesh gets rendered several times every couple of seconds each time with more complexity than the previous pass and instantly replacing the terrain. Does this makes sense to anyone? I use FSX's default scenery. Anyone knows a setting or tweak I can change to address that? Thanks!
  18. Hello guys. Happy hollidays. I'd like to know if I'm correct in this: RNAV approaches have higher minima than a catiii (which technically has none), plus a catiii has auto flare and rollout, and an rnav does not. If the above is correct, why would ILS approaches are being slowly replaced by rnavs throught the world? Is it purelly economical?RegardsArmando Arjona
  19. Awesome, thanks! And I just realized I forgot to sign my OP as per forum rules. Sorry about that, it slipped my mind.Armando Arjona
  20. Hi guys. Just a quick question: I read somewhere that after sp1, the TCAS should display traffic when using Sqwakbox. Is that accurate, or I misunderstood?
  21. That is good advice in general, but in this case the drivers are so old that I can't use nhance or nvidia inspector with them. Is that a problem?
  22. Yes, Nvidia offers a current driver for my video card model, but they themselves say that I should not get my drivers from them, but directly from Dell, and Dell has nothing newer than what I already have. So I don't know what to do...
  23. Hello. Good day to all. There is something I've wondered for quite some time:I do my FSX'ing on an Dell Laptop that performs reasonably well, but I still have the video drivers that originally came with it (quite old). I haven't upgraded them because I read somewhere on Nvidia's site that Laptop drivers are handled differently in that the manufacturing company (in this case Dell), tweak or modify the drivers provided by Nvidia to taylor them to their specific hardware, and that I should get my updates directly from them.Basically I have 3 options: Keep the "dell certified/modified/arpoved/whatevr" drivers from Jan/2010 with the philosophy of don't messing with what works Use Windows Update to upgrade to their latest offer May/2011, or Go to the Nvidia website and get the current offer. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Regards,Armado Arjona.
  24. Increasing the LOD radius in the fsx.cfg actually helped a lot.I thank you all for your help and your time.Regards
  25. Hi.Asuming no problems with the nose wheel and no assimetryc thrust, I was told a few weeks ago by the experts here at the PMDG forums that it is indeed normal, and that it happens in "real life".Regards,Armando Arjona
