Who would like the MD-11 remade in the future
I love flying the MD11. She's a big, beautiful bird that was something of a stepping-stone to fully integrated flight management systems and as such provides enough challenge to make it a fascinating aircraft to manage, especially on short sectors. To those who say 'there are more important aircraft out there' etc, think for a moment about the long and happy history of the DC8. Many years as a passenger aircraft were followed by long and profitable careers as frieghters - sometimes the value of a second hand DC8 as a converted frieghter was higher than its original pricetag ! They even got some of them re-engined with CFM56s - a testament to the Douglas corporation and it's ethos of building planes to stand the test of time. There are many examples of this having happened with the MD11. This aircraft will continue to serve as a dependable freighter for many, many years to come. I love driving to work and seeing a lineup of 7 or 8 MD11s at the freight terminal. I see them from Martinair, KLM, Centurion, Saudia, Lufthansa Cargo and others. If PMDG does anything with the MD11, I think it should be a 'wash and brush-up'. Clean up the exterior, and pleeeeeeease, do something about the wing-flex ! Andy

Still running first version......anyone else?
Me too. running like a dream without any hotfixes. I think it's worth rembering that there are a lot of people who simply like to get in the aircraft, programme and plan what is needed for the flight and go flying. The beauty of this add-on, for me, is that it can be tailored to serve the needs of anyone who has a basic knowledge of FMC flying, or it can be used to equal satisfaction by those who really like to get deeply invoved in the aircraft and it's systems. I have no hotfixes, I have had 1 CTD (due to my own ham-fistedness), I have installed more than 50 liveries using the installer provided, I have aircraft set up in various configs (US/European), and I have flown more than 200 hours. I have done autolands, go-arounds, holds, diversions and non-precision approaches in all kinds of different weather at big and small airports. I have had not one single problem worthy of note. I will wait for SP1, backup my original installation and see if SP1 can make (my idea of) perfection any better. PMDG - thanks for a brilliant product which, up to now, serves my needs completley. touch down issue
I have had a similar issue at touchdown and also during takeoff from busy airports. I think my problem is connected to my sound card. It's an onboard one and Im replacing it soon. I think the stutter (for me) comes from the extra sound file that needs to load for the tyre 'schreech' at touchdown. My system seems to stall (momentarily, and not really enough to disturb my flight). I also have the same problem on takeoff when an ATC message is sent to another aircraft as I am rolling. Just a momentary stutter, but it may be the cause for you too. Good luck.
