OOM on long haul flights
I find the comparisons in this thread helpful, but it also raises a question as to whether results reported are on a common basis. Specifically, for the long haulers reporting no or less OOM problems, are you using PMDG or other time compression to shorten the real time that your sim is running? I was having issues with KIAD-KPHX with flightbeam scenery at both ends and all other scenery off except for Global when flying it in real time. 100% of the real time flights cratered at touchdown in KPHX. Using PMDG's time compression VAS usage shrunk to the point where I would be able to plant it at KPHX without OOM about 3 out of 5 times. IMHO, if FSX VAS consumption is a memory leak, I suspect that real time, not compressed virtual time, is a key variable to consider when discussing OOMs. The suggestion above to use software to extract long range cruises to shorten real time bears this out.

Froogle 777 video Amazing(release weak)
Excellent presentation of the basics. The super wow factor for me was the positional engine sound demonstration. Truly a remarkable piece of the PMDG project. Rob Mrofka

VC-10?
Very nice video.

Nostalgic about the few times I got to fly on this aircraft in the Middle East. It seemed to be all wing and lifted off the tarmac with ease even under the most extreme temps. Very smooth in cruise. Friend of mine flew right seat for Gulf Air on VC-10s before he transitioned to the TriStar. He loved the VC-10 despite its age. Anyway thanks for sharing.

I have the Addictive Simulations VC-10. Kind of dated but I still enjoy it from time to time.

Rob Mrofka

24JUN13 - PMDG 777 Virtual Cockpit Preview!
And now for your penance, my son, please make a dozen Stations of the Cross, 15 rosaries, 10 Our Fathers and 10 Hail Marys for mercilessly taunting prospective Trip Seven jockeys . . . The flight deck represents a truly remarkable piece of work and clearly sets a new high water mark for the industry. Kudos to you and your team for pulling out all the stops to produce a masterpiece (until an equally gorgeous 744 is released ). The level of effort is very apparent and will undoubtedly be much appreciated. Really like the panel lighting in the night shots. Best regards Rob "Don't Forget the Start Locks" Mrofka

Robert Randazzo about to join us on voice chat, all welcome
Kudos to the incredible support extended by Rob, PMDG, PC Pilot, ORBX, JustFlight, Flight1, AVSim, Addictive Simulations, Buffalo Virtual, United Virtual and all fellow flight simmers who have stepped up to help someone in need. Genorosity and compassion do indeed flourish in those who share our passion for virtual flight. Well done, lades and gents. Really hoping that Tony recovers quickly to rejoin the ranks soon. This is important, and we could use your help...
Tony, I hope the medical procedures that you are enduring provide you the relief that you so deserve, especially after the neglect in the hospital. Kim, make sure he does his prescribed physical therapy so that he can be pronounced fit in time for Capt. Randazzo to get him back in the left hand seat for a few long hauls in the Triple 7. Best wishes. Rob Mrofka

PMDG MD11
This sums up my view of the MD-11 as well. I have all PMDG products and, frankly, the MD-11 lives at the top of the list followed by the Jetstream 4100. Not saying the 737NGX is lacking in any way, but the MD-11 is a joy to fly and it stirs a lot of fond memories of its predecessor the DC-10. So sorry to hear that it did not do as well as expected for PMDG, It is a great product. Rob Mrofka

A little bit of "Thank You."
Congrats, Captain, Ryan and all of the PMDG team. Definitely a well-deserved award with many more to come. Merry Christmas to all, and looking forward to a great 2013. Rob "Don't Forget the Start Locks!" Mrofka

Porting B1900D into FSX?
Thanks, Bert. First option didn't work even though there is a Cessna dll file with that name. I got a Cessna 172 attitude gauge to work in the Vcockpit07 section, kinda. Resized to get it to fit and it works ok during daylight hours but is almost totally blacked out at night. Close enough for government work!! Rob Mrofka

Porting B1900D into FSX?
Saw a much better screenshot of the full VC. The missing gauge is clearly a standby attitude gauge. Going to scour the panel.cfg to try to parse which file I am missing. Since I don't have FS9 installed, I hope this doesn't get ugly. Thanks in advance for any help. Rob Mrofka

Porting B1900D into FSX?
I did the unofficial port of the FS9 B1900 to FSX as outlined in the link provided above. B1900C and its variants work ok (I changed the sound to the Carenado King Air sounds). B1900D VC panel is missing a gauge immediately to the right of the altitude alerter gauge. From the PMDG screenshots it looks like it might be a WX placeholder like they have for the JS41. Any ideas as to how I can fill the hole? Not really essential to flying the D model, but I find panels with gaps to be annoying after a while. Thanks. Rob Mrofka

CPFlight MCP Driver for T7
I know that the driver for this piece of hardware is a Flightsimlabs piece of software and will likely also post this Q on their forum. Just wondered if PMDG has poked them for a modified driver to allow the panel to work with the T7 upon release. Thanks. Rob Mrofka
