As in all FSX aircraft there is a 'head position' in the aircraft.cfg file. In the PMDG -800 that I have it's defined as :[Views]eyepoint = 46.462, -1.64, 4.75ie. 46' forward, 1.6' left and 4.7' up from the centre of the aircraft. Make a backup then change these figures to see if that helps. Maybe bring the first figure back a foot or so???

Good point. I'll have a look at airliners.net and see how many real world examples have them. PMDG have done a great job with their paintkit so it will just be a matter of hiding that layer.
