  2. Ok, I bought UTX and GEX for NA and Europe (awesome products as stated before). My next question becomes: when I get around to buying UTX for Alaska, I know you should install UTX before installing GEX, yet GEX for NA covers Alaska already. So, before installing UTX for Alaska, should I uninstall GEX, then reinstall it afterwards? If this is the case, since I would be doing it consecutively (i.e. no flying of FSX between), I shouldn't have to worry about reinstalling the default FSX files that GEX replaces, correct? Any other advice (besides running defrag afterwards)?
  3. Thanks gentlemen for the responses. Oddly enough, I don't like spending money on payware airports (not enough time spent at them) so luckily I don't have to worry about UTX/GEX fighting with other addons. I only download and install the occasional update to airports (always freeware, and generally just the ones that add a runway or adjust a localizer, etc to match R/W).
  4. What exactly is the difference between UTX and GEX? I know they are two separate add-ons, but do they work well together or would I need both? Thanks.
  5. Yup, the update to FSUIPC seems to have solved the problem. Winds and temperatures all worked as they should have during all phases of flight while using DWC.
  6. All I gotta say: the same thing that fixed my problem with ASE fixed the problem with AS2012, and that is update. Slightly different though this time, as you need to update FSUIPC (I now have version 4.758 and no issues so far...well see during the descent but climb is going smoothly unlike previous times). I am even running it under DWC so no flickering of the screen.
  7. The default Beech Baron 58 is the only default aircraft I fly anymore (first one I started with when learning to fly on FSX, so a little sentimental for me), but I prefer the realism of payware aircraft and the more complex systems. Does anyone have any recommendations or advise on the Carenado Beech Baron 58 or another B58 out there somewhere?
  8. Ok, I bought the FeelThere ERJv2 and will say it is a fun plane to fly, not too bad of an aircraft to learn (coming from the guy who hates reading manuals). Generally it takes me 2 to 3 practice flights outside of the provided tutorials to learn an aircraft, but this one I had under wraps on my first flight (which was not the tutorial flights provided either)
  9. Well, I am glad it isn't just me that seems to be having this issue...maybe there will be a SP released soon addressing this
  10. I have switched from DWC to standard...so far so good, but now I have an issue where the sky starts flashing when AS2012 starts its updates...Does anyone have any ideas what I may have set up incorrectly? Any suggestions?
  11. Nope, I stand corrected...temperatures and winds are still not updating during my descents. I am currently at 12300' and my TAT is still -38C and my OAT is still -51C. Winds are still at 65 kts from 268
  12. Dope! Figured it out...when I did a complete reinstall of FSX and all my other flight simming goodies, I forgot to disable weather updates from SquawkBox...everything seems to be working fine so far this flight from OKBK to EINN...
  13. Just a couple other notes:My FSX is installed in C:/Microsoft Gamesand AS2012 is installed in the same folder. I right-click run as administrator AS2012 and start FSX through AS2012
  14. Also I have noticed an issue where the winds won't alter during descent...I flew the other day from KIAD to KATL in the QW 757 and the winds at 4000' were about the same as up at FL340
  15. My AS2012 is not updating temperatures at the different altitudes correctly during descent and climb. I have to manually open up my World-Weather window, switch to "Clear Weather" then switch back to "User-Defined" to get it to work properly. Everything else seems to be working correctly, just not the temperatures. Even when flying I get the green box stating "AS2012 has downloaded new weather" (or whatever the exact lingo is). Any suggestions?
  16. I too hope for a DASH 8...I have the JS41, which is the best turbo-prop I have seen for FSX, and would love to have another excellent TP in my fleet. I hope the secret project is a good regional airliner!
